After at least 8 years of not stepping foot in the office, Dr. Hersh remembered me and was genuinely interested in what I've been up to for the past 8 years. I don't know of many doctors who will spend extra time out of their busy schedules to catch up with their old patients. It definitely makes you feel GOOD!! He also asked me about my sister who has been a patient of his for years as well. This really shows he is invested in his patients. Throughout the whole visit, Dr. Hersh and his staff (special shout-out to Mel) took extra special care of me and I'd be happy to recommend this practice to anyone who needs an orthodontist. Not only is the staff kind, caring, professional, respectful, gentle, and compassionate- but the office itself is modern, clean, and very kid-friendly. I sound like a machine by listing off all of these adjectives- but this review would not be complete without them. Together, Dr. Hersh and his staff, is a team that you WANT caring for you. TDR has the latest technology in terms of diagnostic tools, appliances, and internet service. You can see your child's pictures on the website if you create an account, so the parent who is not able to attend appts gets to see. They explained very clearly what they wanted to do and why. They discussed pros and cons of treatment, best case/worst case scenarios. They had us wait on braces for my son stating that his adult molars needed to come in, and they explained that his canines should drop naturally, and they did (which means less time in braces) So I did not feel rushed/pushed into anything. After my daughter's palate was expanded they put in a maintenance appliance that is much easier to eat with and care for. They discussed my insurance with me, answering all my questions. Their communication and paperwork is forthright and clear. They offer 5 & 7% discounts if you pay up front with credit card or check. I get appt reminder text messages. I have never waited more than 5 minutes for my child to get onto their appt. They highly encourage patient responsibility and care, so they educate my kids about brushing, etc. That's a huge support as kids don't like to listen to their parents. Their prices fall within national average for service, tipping slightly toward the higher end, from what I've researched. My son's Tx was 5k before insurance & discount, my daughter's $3700. I feel like I am paying for peace of mind and time (they save me time). My daughter's teeth look great, and turned out just as they predicted. can't comment on my son's as his Tx isn't done yet. The assistants are super nice, relate well to the kids, and remember what you talked about last time. My ONLY complaint is that the female doctor started pulling my daughter's teeth (the roots were gone, they were caught on her appliance which is normal) without saying what she was about to do. It did not startle or hurt my daughter, j surprised me. I did not know anyone at TDR before I was referred there.

Hands down, the best orthodontics office in the area. They are easy to schedule with and have no problem fitting you in if something unexpected (broken bracket, pokey wire) occurs. They are also the most competitively priced office in the area. Knowing that all four of us were going to get braces, I did some serious research on area orthodontists and had consults with multiple providers. Dr. Olds office beat all other estimates and we could tell right off the bat that we would like working with them. Well no longer. Today, I drove to Robinson Dental without once feeling nauseated, thinking of turning around, or mentally cursing out another driver from misplaced angst. It was a freaking miracle. My experience with Dr. JD began a couple years ago when he was referred to me by a colleague at the hospital that I trust implicitly. This individual has been going there for years and continued even after a move now required an hour drive. Honestly, I was terrified. I hadn't been to the dentist in years and was apprehensive, embarrassed, and skeptical. While the initial visit was unnerving only due to my own neurosis, Dr. JD was kind, gentle, funny, and was never judgey, dismissive, nor condescending and continues to be all of those things. All of the others reviews are true. He calls to check on you the night after a procedure. He explains everything in as much detail as you'd like. He is straight forward and honest. He respects your time and discomfort. But while all of these statements are true they can not convey his earnestness nor convey all of the little bits that are inclusive in his magic. I know it sounds like hyperbole. It is not. Let me repeat. I did not have one negative thought about my appointment today. What was that? I just saw a pig flying... I also have to give a shout out to Jessica for calling me when there was a cancellation getting me in two weeks early. And to Paula for making me ultra comfortable physically and mentally. And to Dr. JD's father, who always has a smile, a kind word, and started something truly great. Dr. Nakisher suggested Light Force brackets for me and worked hard to have my treatment done before my wedding. We were SO close, but not perfect, so she popped just the visible brackets off for my wedding and made a retainer for me to wear until I got back from my honeymoon. Especially since we had to sit for another 20 minutes waiting for the orthodontist. Maybe we can normalize brushing and flossing while the wires are off.
