Inside Anacortes Family Medicine, the staff is very nice and helpful. The front desk helps with anything you need. The nurses are great, and the doctors tend to run mostly on time. I've rarely had to wait too long - there are exceptions, but emergencies do come up. The clinic is a part of Island Hospital, and they are only a few blocks away from the Island Hospital ER. This is good because sometimes situations call for an ER visit, and the doctors have referred me down there on a handful of occasions throughout my life. Since they are affiliated with Island Hospital, they have good access to specialists for situations calling for one, as well as special testing done in a lab. They use the lab at Island Hospital. There is not one inside the clinic. There is an urgent care facility housed in the same building as Anacortes Family Medicine, and if Anacortes Family Medicine cannot fit you in to see a doctor, the urgent care can - there just might be a bit of a wait. This is very convenient. I highly recommend Anacortes Family Medicine!

My son was…read morehaving an extremely painful ongoing and somewhat baffling problem and after ending up in the ER again, the doctor there was very concerned and made some calls to see if a colleague he knew would be interested in taking the case. That colleague was Dr Lowe at Skagit Pediatric. She is a lovely caring person and her gentle yet no nonsense manner has been just right for my son (and me). She has advocated for him time and again for a variety of reasons. She's called his school to make sure they have been adequately (and legally) supporting him. She's called in various other specialists whom she's thought would be helpful. She's monitored him consistently over the years and is the person responsible for getting his health back on track. Dr Lowe has spent time getting to know my son. This is no easy thing. I don't have enough characters to go into how important this is for him. The second he even slightly senses condescension or the person who's too flippant and thinks they know where he's coming from (they probably don't), he shuts down. If it's bad enough (for him), he will fire them as his provider. He doesn't mess around and Dr Lowe has passed every hurdle with flying colors. With that said, he has also seen several other providers at Skagit Pediatric when Dr Lowe hasn't been available and every single one has been thorough, caring, and really listens. The receptionists at the front have never been anything but nice and caring. Sometimes a bit disorganized but never rude or dismissive. I've spoken with them on the phone many times and in person even more. l've also seen them handle any number of other people and l've never seen anything other than friendliness. Despite the difficulties that COVID has presented, we still have had nothing but proper, friendly care from Skagit Pediatric.

They gave terrible customer service because of a cough and we were seeking medical attention to have her breathing medication renewed since the prescription expired. They followed COVID protocols to the extreme, and they do not take into consideration that the parent knows and understands their own kid's health. My daughter did not have a fever or shortness of breath. She has a reactive airway and the cold weather makes it reactive. My daughter is allowed to have a cough. My daughter should not be denied medical care for their convenience. This is a terrible practice that eliminated humanity from their protocols.

They did some tests and told us that he had RSV and that it was treatable and he would more than likely go home that night. He was being treated in a bed in the hallway and was sharing time on the monitors with another patient, so the staff was not continually monitoring him. I feel like they underestimated the severity of his condition and did not give him the attention that he needed because they were understaffed and too busy. Within 3-4 hours of being diagnosed with RSV and not doing anything to help or treat his symptoms, my dad went into cardiac arrest and died. The doctor admitted to us at the time of his death that they exhausted all of their resources of epinephrin and could not save him. I feel like they missed the signs of what was coming and are too blame for his death. I will never agree to be taken to United General, for any reason, if I were to have a medical emergency. I feel like this place should be shut down if they can't provide proper care and have enough staff/ equipment/drugs.

I visited this clinic in October twice since the young doc could not do I/D at first visit, I had to come back again. Tri care supposed to cover 100% for these visits as my coverage. I got billed couple hundreds dollars for one of the visits. I called Tri-care, and was told that skagit used wrong code, so they need to use correct one to submit the bill again. When I asked the lady from Tricare , she could not tell me the code, Skagit needs to call Tri-care if they have a question. I called Skagit 360-814-7575, the young lady who talked to me at 1134 am on Dec 15, 2025 told me that they did not use wrong code and I need to check my insurance for coverage, if it's wrong code, "I" need to call Tri-care and get the correct billing code to tell her because it's MY responsibility to correct the billing. I am a patient, I am not working for billing at Skagit nor Tri-care. When I asked her to call Tricare to figure out what was wrong, She said, "Skagit will not call insurance company, we already communicated with insurance company. You are responsible for this billing. " She told me to have Tricare contact Skagit or get the billing code by myself. I explained to her the staffs from Tricare cannot make outgoing call directly, but she kept saying no. I am sure they do billing hundreds everyday. Human make mistakes , but how she knows she is not wrong 100% for sure? I was refused to request for the review the bill , not willing to call insurance company. Tri-care staffs I called cannot make outgoing calls. If Skagit cannot help to solve this problem. I spoke with Alyssa and she explained if I became a member in September, the appointment would be included. A membership is $65. I hung up, prepared to pay and sign up in September like we discussed. They sent me paperwork to sign up for August, not what we had discussed. I let them know I wanted to start in September because I wouldn't be using their services, and that's when the cold unfriendly emails began. Like wtf. First, they said that since my last appointment was in May, no I couldn't sign up until I had another full patient appointment. (News to me) Then, they told me that their prices just went up so no, it isn't just $50 to go over blood work. The tone of the email was unfriendly and borderline rude and it was clear they wanted me to sign up and pay $65 for a month I wasn't even using their services and I'm not okay with that. It sounded like they were making things up to make it very inconvenient for me to wait. This is not a place I would recommend doing business with.
