The doctors care about you but a few don't really offer any answers to questions or reassurance on conditions. They do their job and just walk out of the room. It leaves the patient kind of confused on next steps and uncertain. The people who work front desk, those people need customer service training ASAP. Every time I have called, they are extremely rude with absolutely no provocation. I've been going to this office for almost 2 years and always have the same experience when I call. read more

Years ago, pre-noticeable aging, I had seen Elizabeth Longo about a rash that she had immediately diagnosed accurately. When I was leaving, I had noticed the receptionist's lips and how pretty they were. She told me that Elizabeth Longo performed filler injections and she was the best. So, years went be and the time came that I wanted to try fillers for my thinning lips and droopy face and so I searched and searched for Elizabeth Longo online. Turns out she is with Dr. Berman. I have been to this office three times. The reception is quick, joyful, and the inside staff are quick, conversive, calming, efficient, professional, and the cleanliness is 100%. Elizabeth Longo is a perfectionist and that's why I go to her. She takes pride in her work. She is a practitioner that will give you whatever you want, but believes 'less is more'. My first visit I had a budget and she spent a long (unpressured) time with me trying to figure out what I wanted done and tried to accommodate within my budget. She made suggestions on how creative she could get with the products I bought to make them go as far as should could make them. She is a woman of her word. She doesn't try to take advantage or push products on you. You know she is liking her work as she is doing one side of your face and then another and mumbles to herself 'perfect' or 'that looks great' or 'this is going to be very nice'. The second time I was there I had forgotten to come 30 minutes early for numbing. We put it on anyway and used ice for the rest of the session. I drive from Ventura and am not going to leave over a little needle sticking. The third time I was there an upcoming event was scheduled three days after my scheduled appointment and I would have received discounts. I asked if they would honor the discounts because I didn't know anything about the event or I would have postponed my visit. The discounts were honored. I think their prices are higher than I would pay in Ventura. I typically buy three syringes (botox, cheek filler, lip filler) and it's $1200. Whatever you don't use can be stored for your next visit. You can always stagger your appointments so you don't need to pay $1200 at one visit. Elizabeth is excellent, kind hearted, and engaging. Nothing fake about this girl; she truly cares about her patients. She works through lunch to fit people in last minute. The office staff will waitlist you and actually call you back when someone canceled or rescheduled. I just can't say enough. Oh yes, they take before and after pictures to. You can ask to see the difference on your next visit once they have put the pics together. read more

I was a patient of this office for multiple visits, roughly between 2005 and 2011. At first, I saw Dr. Berman's partners @ the time (there were several as I recall) but towards the end of my association with this practice , exclusively Physician's Assistants. Never Dr. Berman. Not once. The care I received from those who actually examined me ranged from competent to abrupt. Yet, I am not questioning their professionalism. I do, however, have problem with a dermatology group where the lead physician is apparently there in name only. The delegation of responsibilities to others in this speciality is common, but a simple hello from Dr. Berman during any of my exams would have established her as a real person instead of an enigma. read more

I have read many people (patients) complain about wait time and blame the front office staff. I am not an employee of this office but have first hand knowledge this is not always true. When a doctor routinely double books their appointments and takes more than allotted time with each patient they will run late. This trickles down to the next patient and they become frustrated and at times downright angry. This situation also stresses the office staff, the MA's/nurses. And they can become embarrassed and/or rude. Though this behavior is unprofessional it occurs when they are constantly put in this situation. So I believe the problem should be discussed with the person causing the problem. e.g. the doctor, the restaurant owner/mgr, the retail store owner/dept. mgr, etc. They are not of a higher authority. We give them our money so it is my opinion they work for us and we should not let them intimidate us. Our time and our money deserve respect. As does you, me, and them. We just moved to Westlake Village from northern CA and I have an almost 2 yr old who has suffered from severe eczema from birth. We needed to find a local dermatologist to continue his treatment. Someone recommended Dr. Berman and group. I had an appointment to see the PA, Elizabeth Longo. As instructed, we arrived at 11:05, 10 minutes early to fill out first time patient paper work. We had an 11:15 appointment. 30 minutes later, at 11:45, I asked the receptionist if we needed to reschedule the appointment. She said we were next. More time passes and I go up again - my 2 year old is getting extremely restless in the small waiting room. Another woman, perhaps the MA, (obviously irritated) came out and said impatiently, "I can put you in a room". Now I imagined sitting in a patient room for some unknown amount of time as they clearly weren't ready for us yet. I said, I think I'm going to pass and she rolled her eyes and shut the door to the waiting room. A little communication would have helped this situation immensely. Had we known that our appointment was going to be 40+ minutes late, I would have taken my 2 year old out for a bit or at least burned some time in the hallways. I understand the Dr.'s run late, that is acceptable. What is unacceptable is the lack of communication when a Dr. is running that late. And what is totally uncalled for is the inappropriate behavior that the staff (MA? RN?) displayed. I will mention though that the receptionist was pleasant. I was going to reschedule but after this experience I'm going to pass and hope to find an office with a professional staff and a courteous demeanor when considering their patient's (wasted) time. read more

Just yesterday I had an appointment with Dr. Berman. I have been seeing her for over twenty three years. I am in total agreement with Andee G. "flabbergasted" to read anything negative about Dr. Berman and/or staff. They always call the day before are professional, etc. I just went on the internet this morning to get the address for a thank you note. Dr. Berman has taken exceptional care of me. I have had surgery twice now by Dr. Berman. I give her ten stars. She called me the night after surgery, checked up on me, called me the next day and, I believe she followed up several days after, she is always careful saying "Am I hurting you"? For anyone who has anything negative to say, go get a life. Dr. Berman is the best and cares, she really cares. Her staff are always kind and considerate. If you are so impatient not to wait because maybe, just maybe someone has come in for an emergency, which has happened on occasion. Hey, I was one of them. They cleared the day for me. Calling me to come in at two because I was so special they "had cleared the day for me". So people, breathe, relax, take a breath. It is not all about you. Sometimes there is someone else's life at stake. Mine was one of them. Dr. Berman calls personally, even on her day off or, when she was on vacation with her family to see how I was doing. How many doctors take the time to do that? Plus, I have no scars. For all of you that have anything negative to say, go somewhere else. You will never receive the care Dr. Berman and her staff give. She is the best and I am extremely grateful and thankful to have been with her for as long as I have. Dr. Berman, thank you for all your care and dedication in taking such good care of me. I have been a patient of Elizabeth Longo for 10 years. She is not only the best PA I've ever had, she's also an amazing person. I've had many issues with my skin - warts, rashes, acne etc. and Longo always seems to come up with the best solution to fix it. I have sent many of my friends to her because she's just that great! The level of care she provides is something rare. She genuinely cares about each patient and takes the time to explain things. The staff is amazing too, they always answer my questions even when they're swamped at the office and fit me in for a last minute appointment. They always try to book me with the Phys Asst. Well, do they charge LESS? It's very difficult to get an appt with a doc here and the billing takes a long long time and you wont remember what you had done so you wont be able to question all the crazy billing codes. Even with insurance, expect to pay hundreds for procedures. read more

Came here for a full body check up, when I checked in there was about 4 people ahead of me in the waiting room.. No problem. My appointment was at 4, it was 3:50. I grabbed a magazine and waited... And waited... for an HOUR. The only reason they noticed I was still sitting there was because the woman behind the window said she liked my outfit. I asked her when I was going to be seen as the 8 people that came in after me had been seen. She asked me my name and told me I was late to my appointment because it was at 3... No, it was at 4. Then, she asked me when I made the appointment.. Like that had something to do with why I was waiting? However, I had made it almost 2 months in advance. She finally told me they lost my paperwork and my check in.. Nice.. After that, she informed me that the dr I am supposed to be seeing may have left for the evening...So about 20 minutes later (been waiting almost an hour and a half at this point) i get called back and get seen. The Dr. seemed to be in a rush, but at least I got in. She finished up, and tells me to get dressed. That is when one of the assistants swings the door open and i'm standing there almost completely naked!! Ever heard of knocking!?! Don't recommend this place.. It was almost comical how horrible my experience here was. read more

Dr Berman is one of the most caring, wonderful dermatologist you could ever meet. I have been a patient of hers for over 10 years and TWICE while doing small cosmetic procedures on me she noticed a pre melanoma on my leg and took it off right the and there. The second time she noticed an actual melanoma while I was getting Botox and saved my life. She is one of the most caring, skilled doctors I have ever met. She actually cares about her patients. I have to agree with the other review, just too painful dealing with the office staff. I don't believe it's their fault but the Doctors are just cramming too many people into the appointment que. I had a 2:15 appointment, 45 minutes after they returned from lunch they were already running 45 minutes late! They may be good doctors but they are horrible business people! read more

Inasmuch as I have been Dr. Berman's patient for over 20 years, I am flabbergasted to read the negative reviews! Dr. Berman and her staff have always gone beyond the call of duty making me feel relaxed and comfortable which is not easy with my type A personality. Years ago I was stunned that after 8 p.m. on a Friday evening Dr. Berman called to give me results of a biopsy so I would not worry; frankly I had not even thought about it. Another time she checked my husband when I mentioned seeing something suspicious on his face though he had no appointment, and then instructed him as to how to get an urgent appointment at Kaiser for his problem. Furthermore a couple of weeks ago after Shari, one of Dr. Berman's outstanding nurses, suggested what to use for a rash, I received a message later that day with additional suggestions from Dr. Berman. Yes, they are not always on time. Surprise! They are not robots nor are we patients robots! Ever hear of empathy? As a result of age and maturity, I clear off my over-loaded schedule when I have an appointment whether doctor, car service etc. so I don't feel pressured. Also if I don't care to wait, I call before going to determine if they are running late and I also bring things to do in the interim: emails to answer, grocery list etc.. Don't sweat the small stuff! And it is all small stuff. read more

I have know Dr Berman for years. She is a good doctor when you can see her however today I saw a PA named Mia. I saw a PA for the same problem last July. No one today knew how to handle my situation. I asked to see Dr Berman and it's like she is locked away and no one can see her. I have been coming to this office on and off for years. Today I felt like I came in off the street. My husband has gone to Dr Berman, Dr Dye and "Elizabeth" for many years. He has had multiple surgeries, multiple areas on the head and we would never consider going anywhere else, unless they said to. We have always been treated with the utmost professionalism and caring possible. Since my husband often goes into denial (as his Mother passed from Melanoma), they are extremely kind and often remind us of check-ups when we have forgotten or he has been too stubborn. The organization as a whole could not be better. Reading a couple of negative posts here and amazed they exist. We thank the doctors and assistants for all they have done for my husband through the years. He is NOT an easy patient. read more

I only see Elizabeth Longo PAC!! I had these white flakes on my nose and chin and she quickly identified the problem and prescribed me a topical that worked right away! I have also seen her for xeomen injections, which I was very nervous about getting. She made the procedure very calming and an hour afterwards you would have never known I got these injections because it left no swelling or bruising, which tells me she knows exactly what she is doing. I recommend her services to anyone who's thinking about getting Botox or xeomin for the first time! read more

Horrible Service !!! Appalling professionalism, I went to see Dr. Bente Berman for a minor irritated pigmentation problem that I've had to deal with for the past three years, her initial diagnosis was wrong, she barely looked at my infected area, she kept answering her cell phone and laughing like we were in a bar, I was getting very upset, I asked her if she was going to take a culture of the area, she said it wouldn't be necessary, again she answered her cell phone and I just said thank you very much for the great service and I walked out. I have bee going Bente Berman's office for nearly 14 years. I found the staff friendly and the service amazing. Although, Ms. Berman is very booked up at times...I sometimes visit Dr. Dye who is also totally competent. My mother went to him for Mohs surgery and he handled her with care. I love this office. Dr. Berman is one of the most caring, kindest doctors - I love her! The staff are super friendly and always try to get me an appointment despite the fact that Dr. Berman is usually booked up for months. I love that she takes the time to call me herself to make sure everything's okay if there's any tests or strange rashes she's treated. I have had to sit & wait more than I care to in the past, but I do try to get the very earliest appointment to combat that problem. I cannot recommend this doctor. They have called at the last minute three out of three appointments with a "last minute issue" and cancelled or changed my appointment. The wait times are long. They often "lose my chart" when I do get an appointment. It's unfortunate because the quality of the physicians assistance is high. It's just not worth the effort. Dr. Berman is a professional, intelligent, caring dermatologist. I have been going to her for 16 years. She had done many different procedures for my family and myself. The other doctors and nurses in her practice are also just that good. Period. They are up to date on all the latest advances in dermatology, surgery, cosmeceuticals, etc. What is even better is that she is not hesitant to tell you if you do or don't need something, or if there is something better suited for you. She takes the time to explain everything, why it is needed (or not) and what you can expect after. Her professionalism is amazing and I always leave knowing she had done the the best for me (or my family) with no shortcuts. There is a reason why you have to wait a long time to get an appointment with her. She doesn't charge excessive amounts and truly cares. I made an appointment to get a very specific operation done, after dealing with them in the past many times. As soon as I get there I find out that the doctor who was supposed to do my minor surgery wasn't even there. So, I was told on the phone that the doctor who does these operations would be in on Saturday morning... I get there Saturday morning simply to pay close to $100 to be told, "Oh, that guy actually is not in today." In other words, they got me to make an appointment, even though the doctor who needed to be there was not, and still charged me full price for the "visit" fee. I'm sure this place makes thousands upon thousands of dollars a year doing this treacherous bullshit. Once over, the appointment I made was made because Dr. Longo recommended it to me on my last visit. The new doctor I had this time, Armstrong, disagreed with her conclusion and gave me entirely different information. It would be awesome if all of the doctors were at least.. kind of on the same page? And it would also be tremendous if they did not charge people close to $100 based off of information that one of their idiot co-workers dished out. read more
