She encourages questions and never makes me feel silly for asking anything, no matter how basic it might seem. After being referred for an urgent appointment by two nurses who were concerned about a potential appendix rupture due to my acute pain, Dr. Fujimura was much more concerned her schedule than my well-being. Instead of examining my symptoms, she spent time reprimanding me for following the nurses' recommendation and claimed I was "wasting her time" and "potentially endangering other patients if I have flu like symptoms" (I was masked). At one point, I asked if I could use the bathroom and she replied, "well I'm not allowed to say no" - another example of her unprofessional tone throughout the appointment. I was shocked by her unprofessional approach, especially when I was in significant pain and following medical advice from her fellow medical staff. The dismissive attitude I encountered left me feeling unheard and uncared for during a very painful time. Unfortunately, a difficulty has been the high staff turnover in the Berkeley Office, with folks going on leave multiple times or sabbaticals without notice. Dr. Timothy Fitzer wears an iridescent purple silk shirt with black pin-stripe pants that, by no accident, feature thin stripes of the same shade of purple running subtly down the length of each leg. In his left ear glistens a well-polished diamond, tribute to his true baller nature. Long story short I have poison oak and it sucks. Fitz was as good as any other doctor I have seen and gave me a prescription while explaining exactly why I look like a freak of nature. It was quick and painless and easy. Dr. Fitzer is fine. I came in for some cold symptoms and he took the time analyze my health history and suggest an additional test to rule out any escalation in my heart condition and talked to me about the results immediately. All of this is exactly what you should expect from a great doctor. What a relief to have found one in Berkeley. Also, re One Medical, this is my first experience...I love that I was able to schedule online and everything was on time and everyone in the practice seemed sensitive to my schedule and so friendly.

Unfortunately I still passed out like a light, but we were well prepared and the staff in her office were incredible. Dr. McCune's medical assistant, Brittany, was also very kind and attentive. We had great conversation and she put me at ease during one of the shots. Unfortunately my appointment did start 45-60 minutes late that day (not sure if this occurs frequently), but in general I have heard all doctor visits often start late. I'll certainly be back!
