I cannot say enough about this place! I asked my social media friends where to get a fade for my daughter because I was tired of waiting for my husband to do it and his barber shop is not reliable and I question sometimes what goes on there. I reached out to one of my old coworkers, letting him know what I was looking for, and he said without hesitation Bero. He called, and was told that he owned his own shop now, and that we should go in immediately. I've not gone to a barber shop for myself since I was in high school, but I know the guys have the fade DOWN, ESPECIALLY when you're going in for designs. We were kindly greeted and told to take a number. When I sat down, I noticed that I was sitting next to yet another old coworker, a woman from another job. I asked her about Bero, and she said she'd been using him prior when he was at Mirage, and she loves going to see him for her brows and hair. BROWS. AND. HAIR!! He threads, too! This is one stopping for me, folks. With two thumbs up, I knew that she was in good care. I was not disappointed. Now both of them did say that the worst part about the entire experience is that he's only one person, and EVERYONE wants to see him - he's just that good. Don't be in a rush when you go in, or go in and take a number, then go do errands. I think he even gave people the option to give him their number, and he'd call when he was almost at their number. Bero exceeded my expectations. He cleaned up her hair like it was nobody's business. He even trimmed the top, something my daughter wouldn't let other people do any other time. Before we were even done, I told my husband and son I found them a new barber. Just don't be in a rush when they go in, but it will definitely be worth the wait. read more

I've been coming here for quite sometime now either just me or with my Dad, and its always been a hit and miss. Mostly miss. A simple ask and request seemed to be so challenging to get it through with the barber with the exception of the owner and a very few. Others seemed to do whatever they want despite their acknowledgment from that start that they understood your ask or instructions. My last straw was today when after waiting for an hour and I ended up with the barber that does not speak clear straight English more so understand the language. The concerning part is his simply say yes all the time but at the end of your haircut thats the only time that you will now that he does not. I have seen this a number of times after he did a customer. They ended up asking him to fix it or do more to fit what they initially agreed to thru another barber to interpret things to him. I dont have any qualms on that but rather i take issue on ownership. This time I ended on his chair. So i tried to explain to him as clearly as to with a 6year old as slowly and eloquently as I could. I appreciated when he asked if i can show him a picture - "show a picture!" With a noticeably increasing attitude. I showed him an example but not what I was asking in terms of the length of clipper. Despite my clear caveat that this is just an example as this is #1 i want a #0. He responded with an agitated voice "thats not 0!" So imagine at this point that we are just going back and forth then he just stepped away and went to the owner. The first thing i was told was "calm down my friend" which I was. So at this point we have reached a point of no ownership of accountability and simply blaming me for my attitude regardless of my reason. So thats it for me. Took off the cover and walked away. I appreciate the owner's gesture which was unfortunately ill advised, in this instance. The failure to communicate is something they need to work on. Ownership of one's shortcomings is another. I was trying to help the guy to make sure that we are on the same page hence making sure he understands and not to undermine him. If one can't take the heat or even own your issues perhaps take some effort to learn the language which one will need in a customer oriented service trade. My boyfriend went to get the back in the side cleaned up. He didn't want anything else cut because he liked the length. The original barber was doing a good job but then the owner came over and started cutting his hair without asking what he wanted and took a lot of hair off. My boyfriend is not happy and neither am I. The original barber tried to fix it but the owner took way too much hair off. Neither him or I are happy with this hair cut and are very disappointed. read more

My 11 yo has been wanting "lines" in his hair and I wasn't even sure what that meant! Tried a couple times at the usual Great Clips, Fantastic Sam's etc but wasn't what he wanted. So I looked for a barber nearby and found Bero on Yelp. Went in right after school at 4:30 and there was no wait. Showed them a pic and did a great job. Really took their time. Place is definitely a dudes place, rated PG-14 or so! They finally changed the music from explicit rap after being there for 20 min or so. But it's ok, My kid loved it. DO NOT GET THE MAN WITH THE WHITE NEW BALANCES. I didn't catch his name, but he completely butchered my haircut. I asked for a fade on the sides and he completely shaved the side of my head.... I've had no problem with the other people, but this guys seemed like he had no business cutting hair. read more

Amazing cuts. Amazing people. There's also good conversation, a warm community, and free coffee and water. The waiting chairs are quite comfortable and you can just relax after taking a number. The will let you know estimated wait times. Try it out for a good cut. read more

Got my haircut by Manny, and he absolutely hooked it up. Went in there and the environment was relaxed and chill and felt very comfortable the whole time. My mans killed the hard part and got the fade correct which is rare. Overall couldn't be happier and will return anytime I'm in Ypsi and need a hair cut. read more

Never opens on time. Give yourself an extra 2 hours for a simple haircut. The owner when asked why he opens the shop late (usually an hour or more) from the time posted on the door, the answer was that he works late hours and early into the morning. He said he doesn't care if customers wait and then leave. Who needs an attitude from an unapologetic barber for a $20 cut. Never again! read more

Does good haircuts but never opens when they say they will. Supposed to open at 10 but we sat for a half hour before he even showed up. Then takes 30 minutes to do a bald fade. Not good with time management at all. Make sure you have a whole day to get your hair done. read more
