Throughout the years I have been to EVERY kind of hair shop imaginable- "The up-scale-glass of wine in hand as they design your locks, the coupon offering chains such as Fantastic Sam's, the African American Parlors, the gay beautician's, the Beauty School's, and authentic barber shops-in my search for "The ONE" who I would want as a sista! I thinky that it was the Universe that put "rock and roll hair by SinDerElla" in my path this time for a serious hair style intervention, I am thanking the Universe every morning upon checking out my "new morning look." All it took was for me to come clean to my rock -n-roll hair dresser about why my hair was in such emotional distress. This is very important to weed out the "real" from the "phony" beauticians- for sure. I explained to her that, "After being officially divorced, I got drunk, pulled out my scrap-booking scissors, placed a hand mirror between my thighs, and with drink in one hand and the scissors in the other cut away in the dark, and could have cared less how I looked in the morning." That is all it took, for a genuine, celebrity by night and indisputable Rocking beautician by day to grasp the locks of frustration I attempted to cut from my past. I knew by her response to my condition, that she would treat me with love, honor and respect- something I never got from any other stylist for being honest, or my ex-husband for that matter. Rodney, has been cutting hair most of his life and when he's not playing with the clippers, you can find him playing in local blues bands. He does a great job in cutting hair, and does both male and females hair styles. Unlike many barbers who no longer use a straight razor, Rod is one of the very few that still does. He believes that it's not a haircut, unless you shave around the hairline and down the back of the neck. He always makes sure to have fresh blades in his razor. Rodney, is very economical and only charges $10.00 per haircut. This is by far cheaper than most other barber shops in the area that usually charge $13.00 for a regular haircut, and sometimes higher for a flat top. Likewise, he won't give up on your hairstyle until your completely satisfied.

Keith & Matt are affordable and make you feel welcome with their laid back casual atmosphere. Scissors can't be beat if you're a guy living on campus looking for a great cut. Keith was trained a barber, and Matt a stylist, so they have a lot of knowledge between them. I've had my hair cut by both and have always been happy. I've also noticed that my haircuts usually get better as they grow out, so one could go awhile without a trim. Though I go about once a month to stay looking sharp.

Every visit reminds me of those times. Dad and gramps would've liked it here. You need to call ahead or go online and get in the queue. Walk-ins are welcome, of course; you will be waiting. For a reasonable $30 I had the sides tapered and trimmed the top. I have a half dozen cow licks to contend with, two extremely large ones. That doesn't phase these boys. The cuts always come out looking great and the banter in the shop is typically funny and careless. The best place to try out a new joke. I've seen Kyle and now Brian.
