Deck Boards need to be replaced.

Our deck was not in great shape. Every year you had to repaint or stain. The railing spindles were wood and had aged too much. The staircase was much too narrow for our 3 dogs who would want to exit to the back yard. We needed help. I did some research on the web for contractors who have experience building decks. Spoke to 6. I liked the owner Misael. He seemed genuine. Honest. Trustworthy. He brought forth a couple of ideas I had not considered. He came back several times to take measurements, confirm details, etc. I was interested in a few upgrades and changes. His pricing was fair and reasonable. So, I signed a contract. Today his crew was 99% done. There's a very short punch list and the job will be done. Bottom line: would I hire them again? Absolutely. They will be my first and only call. When you hire a crew....you want them to show up, know their craft, and deliver against what they said they would do. You want someone with attention to detail, and who communicates when there are timing issues or delays. Beroli Construction....exceeded all my expectations and I would hire them again in a nanosecond.

    Family room

I hired Beroli Construction to finish my basement. Throughout the entire process, Misael and his team were extremely thorough, detail-oriented, and easily accessible for any questions or concerns. Misael does everything "by the book" in regard to inspectors so everything is 100% legitimate and safe. The quality of work is flawless. I would 100% hire Beroli Construction for any other remodeling needs again. Everyone was very safe regarding COVID. From a cost perspective, they were mid-range of the quotes I received and I could not be happier with the final product!

Google is worthless, you go there and they have 4.8. It's a complete fraud. It's pretty much extortion and villainy. I can't believe that when I looked them up and went to Yelp and saw all the horrible reviews and disgraceful photos of their work. I went out to ChatGPT and said how can a business like this be successful? How could people honestly give them any money or any business or any time of their important day. He called his boss while we were sitting there, who offered an even better price if we would let them put a sign up and pressure us to agree to terms on the spot, which I said I would not do without my spouse. They sent the proposal (June 18, 2024) and we agreed to terms that day or the next and I signed the contract. They sent an invoice for the first third of the work (June 28, 2024, I didn't see this the first time, and requested that they resent it on July 1, 2024). They sent the project manager out to look at the job (On or about July 3, 2024) and look at logistics. He told me that once the deposit was paid they will file a permit the same day with our town. I texted them immediately after the deposit was sent (July 8, 2024) and my phone rang within 10 seconds. They said they mismeasured the job (two weeks earlier) and it would require $5500 more for them to do the job. This was a 68% increase over the agreed upon (signed contract) price. They asked me how much my other offers were for and I said I wouldn't tell them that and that I expected the company to hold up their end of our contract. I do not think they are losing money at all. After two weeks since I paid and they have still not filed a permit or delivered a dumpster as promised. The project manager texted me today to say that his office would start processing the return of my deposit as they would not do the job unless we agreed to pay 68% more than the quoted, signed upon price. If this review is still posted here, then this matter has not been resolved, and my money has still not been refunded.

It's now mid-November, and not only are the windows still not installed, but the installation date was just pushed again to mid-December--almost five months after signing. We specifically reviewed the timeline because we wanted this done before it gets cold. We have booked dog daycare which has to be rescheduled, it affects our schedules, plans, and will massively impact our work, which is WFH. The measuring process was chaotic. The person sent to measure always gave last-minute notice and had to come out multiple times because they kept miscounting the number of windows--always short by one. Communication throughout this process has been terrible. You have to constantly follow up for updates; Zen never reaches out proactively or takes ownership of delays. Every update comes only after you chase them. When we brought up these issues, the company's response was to blame the original sales rep, who is "no longer with them." Convenient excuse, but the timeline and promises were in writing. Zen has taken no accountability for the misinformation or poor service. Yes, they may be cheaper than competitors, but you truly get what you pay for--unreliable timelines, lack of professionalism, and customer service that's downright egregious. Buyer beware!

You ever have a basement window just....sporadically shatter for no apparent reason? Well,…read moreevidently this is just a thing that randomly occurs in this part of town. The last time I had glass shatter spontaneously was back in '24 when our winter storm door screen was completely pulverized by the summer heat, it seems (Pro-life tip: swap out your storm door screens in the summer with mesh ones). On the back of that unforeseen devastation, out went my mass inquiries to all the local shops servicing the Nashua area. Out of maybe 5 (?), 3 responded almost instantly. One sent a quote so high, I was half tempted to reply and ask if I could have some of whatever they were smoking. Another replied with what seemed to be a promising rate, but there was one problem. Their communication was severely intermittent to the point where they inexplicably ghosted me faster than a recruiter responding to a job applicant. Ultimately, I settled on Good Window Works. They offered a fair quote, were easy to get ahold of, and even provided a COI statement as per the request of our housing board. For those unaware, a COI is a Certificate of Insurance. Basically, it's assurance to the board that the contractor in question is insured to complete the job without creating a liability if they, say....jam their thumb beneath a tack hammer or something. With those formalities out of the way, the job was simple enough: Replace the half of the basement window that abruptly disintegrated. All in all, the job took roughly 2 hours. In the end, the window he installed was so transparent, it looked like there was no pane at all in the frame. But no--the glass was just THAT pristine! I don't say this often, but....experiences like these are what I love most about being a Yelp writer. So rarely do I get to be in the position to not only promote another hard working local business, but also pose as the microcosmic advertising vehicle that just might serve as the prompt some very fortunate individual needs to go, "Yeah, I'm hiring this place to work on my house". If you're wondering whether you should hire these guys for your next installation or repair job, the answer is likely yes. Good Window Works is worth 5 window panes clearer than thin air out of 5.

Only Good Windows responded and sent someone out to do an estimate. They just finished the job. In October of 2025 I signed a contract with a company called Teixeira Construction Remodel Inc…read more based in Southborough MA. Gave them a 20% deposit. And another 20% when they started in December. They worked on the project for a couple months. Here are the issues I ran into. After stripping the existing siding and trim they started residing. Soon I realized that they weren't putting the contract specified PVC trim around the windows. This is the actual contract language; "Installation of new 5/4x4 PVC trim with integrated pocket on windows and doors". After bringing this to their attention they claimed that they had some verbal conversation with me and this was not required. I have no recollection of such an agreement and would never have agreed to anything not documented in writing. Rather than dispute this I agreed to a change order (funded by me) to at least do the windows facing the road and neighbors. I raised another concern about exposed Cortex plugs in the PVC trim (see pictures). They weren't drilling the screws far enough, so when they hammered in the plugs, they bottomed out on the screw head leaving part of the plug exposed. They addressed a few lower ones, but many are still showing. They consulted me about where to position a horizontal PVC board which separated the lower clapboards from the upper board and baton on one the front peaks. We agreed on the best solution but after they did the work, they did something completely different. Had to live with what they did. Lastly, I called to their attention a problem I found in the spring where the clapboard siding above a rear sliding door was protruding (see picture). They sent someone out, didn't schedule with me, and addressed the issue. The problem is what they did is nail the clapboard to the house. This is not suppose to be done as with all siding like this (Everlast) the boards are suppose to move horizontally given expansion and contraction with temperature changes. I suspect that this voids the Everlast factory warranty which I am still researching. One very dissatisfied customer. Can't give them a recommendation
