Nestled just outside of the city is a family owned berry farm. I picked blueberries with my family. The blueberry rows are right at the front of the property, so not a lot of walking. I think I found this place through Facebook when we first moved to Dayton last year. But it wasn't until it happened to pop up in my feed last month that we finally decided to visit. We recently returned from a trip to MI where we went berry picking. Our little boy had so much fun! So when they announced they'd be open on Tuesday evening for berry picking, we knew we had to take him. Our visit was late August. Blueberries and blackberries were near the end of their time and the raspberries were just coming out. It wasn't too crowded, the people were nice and the price was pretty good! I even retuned later that week just for fun. The raspberries tasted even sweeter the second time! Yum!! They also sell honey, watermelons and pumpkins. This farm is the BEST place in the area to pick a whole bunch of berries for a generous price. Without realizing it, I had picked about $11.00 worth of blackberries. I gave so many small containers away to friends and STILL had more than enough to freeze to supply myself through the winter. They grow a variety of golden raspberries here that are DELICIOUS! They also have red raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries. Make sure you bring cash or a checkbook, as they do not accept credit. The staff/family is very nice and is very relaxed. All of this being said, I went in the summer of 2014, and I've been telling everyone I know about this wonderful place. I will be going back in a weekend, and I will add an update with many pictures. This place used to be one of my favorite childhood spots for berry picking. I have lots of fond memories there with my mother. However, the family has recently installed a bird cannon in place of their bird nets that apparently burned in a barn fire. Now, from 7am till the birds roost, a shot like a firework or shotgun goes off every 2-4 minutes. It's disrupted the neighborhood. Dogs are too scared to go outside or be walked, local farm animal owners are experiencing issues with livestock... since the wild animals are all scared, the local ecosystem is becoming disrupted. This area is residential and has been peaceful for over 15 years, so many of our neighbors are distraught over this. Any business that doesn't respect their neighbor's reasonable requests for peace and quiet is not a place that I'll be bringing my business. read more

Great produce knowledgeable people easy to get get in and out on the driveway and traffic also very friendly.

Second year of putting up with the berry farmer trying to scare the birds off the plants with a sonic blast every 3 minutes starting at 6am to10 pm.
