Our very first stop was at Sweets Boutique and they delivered an incredible sandwich, fresh fruit, some very delicious bread, and a couple of cookies. There were two, different sandwiches in our pack. My wife & I usually go splitsies on meals at restaurants so we can try more things. I have to say: the ABLT (avocado, bacon, lettuce, & tomato) was SO insanely good. It was the first half sandwich I had and I immediately regretted sharing the second portion with her. The fruit that was included was super fresh and very juicy and there was an additional loaf of bread that we used as part of our lunch the next day -- also, SO good. I can't speak to the cookies because our daughters devoured them, so I think that should say plenty. My wife and I already said we're going to head to Yellow Springs again this Fall and we're going to make grabbing a couple sandwiches from Sweets Boutique a priority.

I started with an espresso martini before my Benedict Your Way with smoked salmon, and it was so good that I had to have another one after my meal! Absolutely perfect. The caramelized sugar on top had that beautiful crisp crack when I broke into it, while the custard underneath was silky, creamy, and perfectly balanced. Not too sweet, just rich enough, and the contrast between the delicate caramelized topping and smooth custard was exactly what a great crème brûlée should be. Paired with my last espresso martini, it was an incredibly satisfying way to finish the meal. My only reason for giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that I'd love to see a few more vegetarian and pescatarian options on the menu. I don't expect every restaurant to be vegan friendly but some effort to have a dish or 2 on the menu that isn't meat centric would be appreciated. (It is Yellow Springs after all). That said, during nearly every visit, I've encountered staff who come across as rude, argumentative, or dismissive without any apparent reason. Even when I've been the only vehicle in the drive-thru, wait times have often been 15-20 minutes. When orders are brought out, the interactions consistently feel unenthusiastic and, at times, abrasive. Unfortunately, this hasn't been an isolated experience--it's been a pattern over multiple visits. I understand that customer service skills take time to develop, but consistent courtesy and professionalism are still important. Because of the repeated experiences I've had, I've decided I can no longer support this business.
