I was rather surprised when I came across this pub, but that probably had something to do with a number of rather disappointing ones that I had recently visited. Yeah, this pub is a bit of a hike from the city, slap bang in the middle of suburbia, but as it turns out, this pub was actually pretty cool. I guess the fact that they had craft beers on tap really did something in that regards, as did the really nice beer garden out front as well. Full disclosure: I spent a good two years of my life behind the bar at the Berwick pub, serving Bundy and Coke to boozed up men who delighted in propositioning the bar staff at every opportunity. Funnily enough though, they were some of the funnest times I have had (not being propositioned, more working with a fun bunch of people). The Berwick pub, or Bezza as it is known to locals, is an ancient institution in this corner of the world. If you live in Berwick, chances are your dad took your mum on their first date there, or your grandparents wedding guests stayed in the hotel. It's that kind of place. On Thursday and Friday nights it turns into a dodgy nightclub and swarms of hormonal 18 year olds descend upon the sweaty dance floor to make out. The bistro is always packed and the food is good, albeit pricey pub fare. There is also a more laid-back bar perfect for Friday night drinks. read more

For a local pub, in Berwick, the food is okay. They offer all the regular pub meals and occasionally spice it up with a special. Nice and chilled for a quiet lunch, but if you're heading there for dinner, be careful on a Friday as the place turns into the local nightclub for teens from everywhere (and the occasional older partier). And for us locals, the Bezza is a place that must be visited - wether its for a meal or that one too many drinks. read more

The Berwick Inn has retained that wonderful country pub feel. The beer garden overlooking the Main Street is great for a relaxing afternoon and on the cold winter nights sitting with a red on the sofa in front of the fire while chatting with the locals makes you feel so welcome. Waited over 40 mins for our two meals on a Wednesday night! My crispy skin salmon was over cooked with no crispy skin! Small serve too. The sweet potato chips were undercooked, the coleslaw had no dressing. My partners Parma was ok! Not great! Also if you advertise your fried fish as being home made with a beer batter, surely you do not serve Argentinian battered fish straight out of a box from PFD! Pity the food is not good, because it's a nice venue. read more

The Berwick Pub is one of the worst pubs I have been to, the food is over priced and has no taste. With a table of around twenty people not one of our group were impressed with the food, cold, tasteless, oily and just not nice were some of the comments made. The staff were less than friendly and the ridiculous security walking around made the place seem more like an overpriced disco than a family bistro which they claim to be. Make up your mind your either a restaurant or a disco trying to do both you can tell they are just trying to monopolise on every market they can. With so many other nice places in Berwick it's about time they demolished this place or turn it in to a museum. read more

I feel like this place has gone down hill over the years. It used to be a really nice bistro that was almost always full and had a really good atmosphere. Since they've renovated the space so that the pokies room is now opened up to the dining section, it just seems cheaper. That's not helped by all of the fake plants all over the place either. The food is much better than your average suburban TAB. They always do good steaks and seafood and they serve up some particularly good kangaroo. read more

Visited here today and ordered the Calamari Dish. I order calamari from every restaurant/bistro I go to and thought I would give it a go. To my much disappointment it was the worst calamari dish I have ever eaten with minimal calamari and an overload of salad. It was overcooked and had no flavour. For a price of 21.50 I would expect much more calamari and a quality product which is fresh. Not happy. read more

I would of given it more stars but the vegetables were undercooked and cold. I ordered a Parma and that was over cooked and burnt. Overall I didn't like the service either as the waiter we had was rude. read more

This place is it even close to what it used to be. Many others in the area that are preferred. Limited service and meals are small and not good value read more
