I've had fish and chips from here a few times now and find it hard to fault them. They are as the say they are, a fish and chips shop! I can vouch for the haddock as that's what I've gone for on both occasions. The fish fillets are a decent size and the batter is just perfect. They serve the fish with proper chipper chips. So as far as fish and chip shops go. These guys are doing it well.

The sister branch of the Beshoff Bros take-away in Howth, this scores slightly higher by having a limited amount of seats - just don't count on getting one at lunchtime on a weekday. It's still worth grabbing something to take away; if it's a fine day, the Grand Canal bank and Wilton Terrace Park are within a few minutes' walk. Less than a tenner gets you some of the best fish and chips in the city centre. Rarely mentioned, but widely understood, is that eating fish is all too frequently an exercise in extricating bones from your dinner; this has never happened to me with these guys. It's the little things that count for so much...

Mmm, one of the first places we tried on our honeymoon in Dublin. Very tasty, fresh fish and chips. My wife could even stand eating some, despite her hatred of seafood.

This is some good fish and chips. I got the Atlantic cod and it was really good. I'm a silly American and all my years eating the Cheesecake Factory's mediocre fish and chips has dulled my palate. I just need to fly to Europe for the good stuff. Food was fresh, hot and fairly good value for the money.

Extremely Friendly Staff made even my Bag of chips most enjoyable Well Done everyone I will Definitely be back to try some more Fresh Delights.

These are the gourmet-iest chips around. They cook them in some sort of vaguely more healthy oil that's good for charity and stuff, and they don't even stoop to selling burgers. Nope, just fishies, all battered and crumbly and delicious, served with a lemon and tar-tar sauce. Delicious. They don't deliver though so you'll get to cement your hunger in by walking down to Beshoff Bros. If you think walking back, tortured by the wafting smell, is too much to handle in one evening, they do have the option of eating in. I recommend the haddock, it's gorgeous, and if you're not a fish eater well, firstly, shame on you, but they do have battered sausages.

Great service and excellent portion sizes. Fish was flaky and hot, chips were also good. Loved the different sauces to try.

Amazing fried fish, batter was light and airy. Fish was moist and had a great taste. I will definitely eat here again.

Sadly, this restaurant does not take credit cards without the microchip that is now very popular in Europe.

Our first meal in Dublin was at The Old Mill Restaurant, right in the heart of Temple Bar. It's been serving traditional Irish fare since the 1980s and has become a favorite stop for both locals and visitors looking for classic comfort food. After about a 20-minute wait, we were seated in the warm, inviting dining room. Susan ordered the mussels, one of her favorites, while I went with the Traditional Irish Stew and my daughter chose the Braised Beef & Guinness Stew. Both were exactly what we hoped for: hearty, flavorful, and perfect after a day of sightseeing. I finally understood why the Guinness stew had such a rich, dark color, and I have to admit, I came home a big fan of Irish stew. We finished with the Homemade Bread & Butter Pudding topped with fresh cream and custard, a comforting dessert that was the perfect ending to the meal. Service, atmosphere, value, and food were all five out of five. We also enjoyed chatting with the floor manager, whose pride in the restaurant and his team was obvious. That kind of hospitality made a great meal even more memorable.

The mash was too thick and chunky, the bangers were bit overcooked. The mussels was disappointing, seafood chowder was ok. The restaurant is located on the second floor. We made a reservation, but was asked to wait while they cleaned up the table. Unfortunately, the table they wanted to seat us, the folks decided to have a long after dinner conversation, thus we ended up waiting longer than expected. Then they seated us at a larger table after waiting 15 minutes or so. The service was decent... wasn't fan of tipping request, EU needs to stop adopting USA's stupid system :)

Menu has a good selection of Irish dishes from seafood chowder up to lamb stew and pies. We ordered the potato soup, seafood chowder, 'banjo' burger with onion rings. The soups arrived first and the seafood chowder was loaded with huge pieces of fish, potatoes (not many) with a creamy rich base. Flavor was incredible and in itself a full meal. Served in a large crock style bowl. The potato soup was minus any whole potatoes. It was a rich creamy base with plenty of flavor and very hearty. The burger was really a double cheeseburger with plenty of cheese, grilled onions, what appeared to be a mayonnaise based sauce on a soft hamburger roll. Really tall enough that it was tough getting your mouth around it. Very well seasoned burgers and the onions were a nice touch. The onion rings were huge and had a very light batter on them. They served in a metal bowl to keep them hot. For dessert the apple crumble was ordered which was served in a large dish with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. This could have been warmer but still was good.. The 5 star rating is for the chowder as it outshone the rest of the meal although the burger was definitely a close second. Definitely will return to try other dishes when we come back to the city.

The meat and veggies were plentiful, the portion generous, and it was tasty enough but maybe on the bland side? It was served with a side of braised red cabbage which we really liked: sweet but not sour like pickled cabbage. And house-made brown stout bread, also very good. The wife had a Guinness and I, thinking it too cliché to order Guinness as a tourist in Ireland, tried a different stout whose name I've forgotten from the ample selection. But comparing the two, so much better! The menu offers a wide variety of traditional Irish dishes, more than most of the similar pubs in the area. As well as the other expected pub type food: sandwiches, burgers, etc. As for desserts, if we were hungrier, the wife might have ordered the Irish Whiskey Bread & Butter Pudding. The hubby would probably get his dessert later, as the selection was limited and neither that nor the Apple Crumble appealed. Sitting at the bar we had a more personalized experience than were we at a table. The bartender offered to take a photo of me behind the bar which I of course accepted. We made the right choice in coming here.
