Surprised that I haven't made a review about this market yet. They really are the best Asian market here in Spokane. I love their selection of produce - most of them I use for my cooking at home. They have almost everything that you would need for Asian cooking and the cashiers are always so helpful and welcoming. I also love their selection of snacks, almost nostalgic really. read more

Great pit stop for goodies on our way to friends in Montana. Better selection than the first try at another store but somehow still lacking in noodle variety. We like shopping at the Best Asian Market. We have been loyal customers since they operated the Bay Market just down the block from their present location in 2005. The store always has a good selection of fresh, frozen, canned and packaged foods spanning several different Asian cultures available for purchase. The ambiance and crowds are not the same as shopping street markets in Thailand, Hong Kong, Korea, or the Philippines, but the shelves and aisles are much more tidy and organized. Staff are always very helpful when asked questions about their products, and all of them know the physical locations of their merchandise. Their prices are reasonable, especially when considering prices for the same brand items at the "tourist traps" all up and down Division Street (aka Hwy. 395 and US 2), where everything is marked up to catch the out-of-towners on their way through Spokane. The Best Asian Market is open every day except Wednesday and the major national holidays. I once asked, "Why Wednesday?" I was told it was the most convenient day off to accommodate the majority of staff and still be open and available for their loyal customers like me. IMO Best Asian Market is better than Asian World. Best Asian actually has some real produce, meats, and seafood. I was super happy to find me some purple sweet potatoes here, been searching all over Spokane and have come up dry. Prices here are pretty great too. They are the best Asian store in this town. They recently renovated and everything looks way better. Items are much more visible, properly stored with labels and prices. I think by far they have the cheapest items in town for the most part. This store pretty much carries any Asian things you are looking for from snacks, frozen items, veggies to incense. Staff are always friendly and helpful in assisting and directing you to the proper aisle. Check them every Thursday afternoon for the newly delivered produces. read more

The staff is always so friendly and willing to help you find anything you need or recommend where you can get it if they don't carry. When covid hit I was so worried that this mom-n-pop shop was going to close but as you can see they're still running! In a shady part of town. The store itself isn't exactly dirty but it isn't clean. It might be just be the building, they are all grimy in that area. That entire area needs to be nuked from orbit. It has a decent selection, but they could easily offer more. Some items have half a dozen choices, why? Prices are okay, a little more than the Asian market further down Sprague. It is really hard to find things and help is not always easy to find. I had 6 items on my list, found them all but took over 30 minutes. I went to this place TWICE to buy korean spicy tofu paste (month apart) and both times i visited, they had expired stuff on the shelf. So watch out when you buy stuff from here. It is very annoying to make a trip to the store just to find out that they sell expired food and they don't seem to care fixing the problem at all. read more

After moving here from the Asian-dense population of Bay Area, it's very refreshing to find a grocery here that offers most of the items I could find back home. The store offers a great selection of Asian produce such as bok choy, Chinese broccoli, bean sprouts, etc. And majority of the items are South Asian-based. For the couple of times that I've been here, the staff is always friendly and it's great that it has its own parking lot. If you're here mainly for produce I suggest coming earlier in the day if you can as it sell out fast. The freshness is also a bit or miss for the day. My mom and I found this grocery store when they were in their old location. THANK GOODNESS they're still here! My mom is Japanese and we were both so excited that they have so many Japanese products...fish cakes, jarred seaweed, rice sprinkles with powdered shrimp and Nori, udon, authentic Japanese rice crackers, tofu, Miso paste and Miso soup in packets where you just add water ( it is very delicious!), Moichi in different flavors, Sapporo Ichiban, many brands of Sushi Nori, wasabi, Sushi ginger, Japanese Kewpie mayonnaise, S & B products - like powdered wasabi and mild to hot curry!!! Plus so much more! These are just some of the Japanese items they have. Plus for any other Asian food products, they have so much!! This is a pretty top notch Asian store for eastern Washington. It usually has everything I need to make traditional Lao food. The only thing that can be difficult is that the local restaurants usually buy out some staple items (papaya, Long beans, ect) on the fresh produce days which is on Friday. I also wished that they would continue to carry specific items like som moo regularly but it's hit or miss. Same with my favorite brand of coconut water. Who can argue a genuine Asian grocery mart in the middle of East Sprague in Spokane? Have you ever tried making some convoluted foodie recipe that asked for weird Asian products you cannot find in a normal American grocery store? Look no further--this market has it all. The fresh veg/fruit section looks really sketchy to these Anglo eyes but I've yet to be poisoned by any spoiled stuff. They've got an amazing selection of frozen Asian goodies, dumplings, lumpia all my Filipino treats I grew up tasting can be found here. I scored balút eggs here at one time--which is a foodie experience like no other. YouTube has plenty of balút tasting challenges to enjoy. This market has the largest selection of hard to find spices, sauces and Asian ingredients all within a reasonable price. This store is not for the squeamish. Chicken feet are found wrapped in cellophane and other odd pieces of meat/guts. They've got frozen durian fruit for those wanting to try their own version of Bizarre Foods. I scored deep fried crickets, and other weird treats during my last visit. Try it out, the staff are welcoming even of weird white people wandering their isles glaring at the shelves. read more

Price is not too expensive compare to the other Asian stores. It looks like old Asian grocery store not clean. Some products don't show the names and prices. Not helpful at all. When I asked about the ingredients I want to know the cashier got angry and said "No! I don't know!" Also I asked if I could take tape to see the ingredients (the bag was fold and not opening the package), she did not let me. She said "You have to buy it if you taking it!!!!!". Bay Market/Best Asian Market is a decent Asian store. Caters more to Chinese, Vietnamese, and Thai cuisine. I only say that because I didn't see that much Korean, Japanese, and Indian products. Anyways... it's pretty decent. There wasn't a deli inside. They had a small bulk rice selection. They're not as cheap as when I go to an Asian store in Tacoma but I think this store meets the needs of getting different kinds of sauces, spices, and dry noodles. Been there twice. First time, I was impressed. Can't match what's being offered in the big city but had everything I wanted to satisfy cravings. Was happy with the wide range of choices in Asian veggies. Mostly fresh. Second time, not as impressed. Shelves were empty. Didn't see as many choices in inventory either. I guess I will see when I go back a third time. So far, a descent market! But check your receipt and prices. It doesn't appear they have the best tracking system. Easy to find with about 30 spaced parking lot. About 3 miles west of Costco on E Sprague. They have a great selection of packaged noodles 2nd only to Uyjamia in Seattle. Could use bigger bottles of Low Salt Soy sauce and seasoned Rice vinegar but the supply of noodles made my trip from Missoula worthwhile. I have enough noodles now to last me 6 months. read more

Even with the language barrier they got me all of my hard to find or explain ingredients with a smile. Looking for something exotic like kafir lime leaves, just ask them. I shopped here for the first time a couple of weeks ago, but just after that first visit, I know this is where I am getting all my asian products from now on. I went to the market yesterday Dec 2,2018 , I was excited I got a lot things I wanted , but unfortunately I bought the Korean fresh noodle .and I opened it after I came home and felt not right, it has sour smell because I always get this noodle in LA and Seattle and I checked the expiration date it says 6/6/18 . That means it was expired half an year already . I hope they would change this , never happen in the future . read more

I was thrilled to find this market. Lots of selection, good prices, friendly and helpful staff. I shop for products to use in my Chinese and Thai cooking at home. I have lived in the Northwest (Hayden Lake, Idaho) for 20+ years and just found this market a year ago. Previously we had to shop for these things at "99 Ranch Market" in CA on visits there and bring them back in our luggage (a pain in the neck).
