Love it here! When I travel into Spokane this is always my go to lunch spot. I'll get a salad with lots of protein for maybe $10-14. It is on the smaller side, but lots of parking. Main Market Co-op is the most expensive grocery store that I've ever been in, and I've been to Pronto's in the Carlsbad Village! We were in Spokane for a few days and needed some groceries. Mostly breakfast items, beer and seltzer. Don't get me wrong, it was a cool store with a decent variety, but they didn't seem to stock any "regular" stuff. For instance, Butter - the least expensive butter they had was over $6. No store brand here, all fancy organic stuff. Eggs - luckily they sold 1/2 dozen cartons. Beer - mostly craft six packs. I bought a sixer of Fremont Pilsner $14.99. A 12-pack of Modelo was nearly $30. Seltzer - none. The prepared foods and deli section were fantastic. We returned to get a big container of potato salad for a family gathering. I t was really good potato salad; my family devoured it. The staff were all great. The guy at the check stand even directed us to a competitor where we could find seltzer. And of course, a shout out to the staff member wearing Padres gear! read more

Love it. Stop in here pretty often during lunch and, as far as small city co-ops go, it doesn't get much better. Service is over the top. Truly. Always big smiles. Genuine warmth. Desire to be helpful. All that stuff. Store is CLEAN and well organized. Solid selection of cheeses and produce. Salad bar and deli feature a balanced selection of ready-to-go staples. Lots of curated grab and go dinners as well. Prices are 20% higher than supermarkets, and when you get into the fruffy granola munching stuff it gets prohibitive real quick, but it's par for the course for a co-op. read more

After work, I walked to Main Market Co-op to pick up some breakfast for the next day and thought it was a cozy little market. There were a lot of interesting brands that I've never heard of or seen in LA, so I thought that was interesting. I picked up a mixed berries cup, a ham & cheese croissant, and an oat milk yogurt. The most expensive thing was the fruit cup. Unfortunately, I thought the ham & cheese croissant was very dry and wasn't anything spectacular as I'd hope. Oat milk yogurt was creamy and plant-based, but it was just OK. Despite the food being mediocre, I would still come back the next time I'm in Spokane for actual fresh deli food behind the counter. The man who provided me with a ton of Iggy's Kombucha samples, thank you and hope you make it into the market in Portland. read more

I'm so happy to have a small but mighty little co-op grocery store like Main Market so close to the hotel I usually stay in in Spokane. While I am sure Main Market is great for locals, it's also great for visitors to Spokane. They have a really nice salad bar with super fresh veggies and good protein options. They also have lots of grab-and-go options, including tons of yogurt (regular and vegan), sides, wraps, and even a counter that has hot dishes. Their grocery selection looks pretty swell too. Prices are good and it's never really all that busy. Super close walking distance to most of the downtown hotels makes it a nice spot to grab some food for the hotel or the road. read more

It us amazing to still have freshly prepared food available during COVID 19. This store was clean and we'll stocked. Upon entry there are hand sanitizers. There us a place to use clean and disinfected carts. When your shopping is complete, a designated area is where you will drop off your cart, and the staff will vkean for the next user. Bought a great chipotle turkey ciabatta sandwich, tea and peanut butter cups. A wonderful spot to get organic and conscious goods, grab lunch or dinner and sit out or head to the park. Was in town for a few days and needed some groceries. Saw the sign for this place in a Macklemore video (Downtown) and since it was only a couple blocks from where I was staying, I popped in and got some items. The thing that stood out was almost every item was something you will not find at a chain grocery store yet Main Market Co-Op has everything you need. They do not have 30 choices of oatmeal like those other places, but they have oatmeal. Looking for some other big name brand coffee? Won't find it here but you will find several choices of delicious free-trade coffee. Good deal. There was a woman working there named Lola who was friendly and helped us find everything we needed help with. Nice to shop at a store with good, quality stuff at fair prices and friendly staff. Will be back next time we are in downtown Spokane. read more

Love this place! It's like a tiny version of the Boise Co-op. Great selection of hydration, libation, hot food, cold food, and gourmet cheese. They have these little gourmet donuts, oh man, the maple glaze... *drool* They actuly have tons of great desert options here, but the real superstar is a brownie. A brownie, for real. It's less a brownie, and more of a little flourless chocolate cake bar. It is the next best thing to just eating a bowl of butter and sugar with a spoon. Highly recommended for snack time or grocery shopping. read more

I stopped in Spokane for a few days on a business trip. What a great community and fun downtown. My only regret is that I did not stop in the Main Market co-op until the night before we left. While they didn't offer the hot buffet that night (due to a holiday), the fresh salad on the buffet with plenty of options was tremendous. I was glad to find some nontraditional salad toppings like tofu. They also had a great selection of other healthy food. Wish more communities, including my hometown, had a locally owned healthy place like this. read more

I live in Norty Spokane, but whenever I get a chance to go downtown, I always check out the Main Market coop. I love the vibe here as well as the high quality food. The deli is one of my favorites in town. I love that they always have the Apple Brie sandwich there and I usually get one or a cup of thier delectable fresh made soup. They even let you sample them to find out which one you want to try. Recently, they have expanded thier quick grab meals and snacks and I LOVE that they have so many vegetarian and vegan options that aren't just another salad. Speaking of salads, they have one of the best salad bars i've ever eaten. Tons of fresh, local toppings, and I am on love with thier baked tofu. The breakfast sandwiches are top notch, too, and they include a vegetarian option there, too. In the store, I always head for the cheese section so I can pick up a few little cheeses. They cut up cheese into snack size bits so you can try several at a time for a couple of dollars. This place has got everyone covered. Carnivore, vegan/veg, pescatarians, gluten-free....everyone. And the food was great. My wife is a biscuits and gravy-aholic, and was absolutely a big fan of their scratch made product. 'Oh my,' was the first thing out of her mouth. I enjoyed a well made, and hearty sausage breakfast burrito, that had poblano & red peppers, yukon gold potatoes, onions, fresh cilantro, and big chunks of delicious sausage. Actually, it was pretty hard to choose what to dine on here, because it all looked appetizing. Self-serve coffee/tea area had everything you need, as did their condiment area. Very clean store and deli areas. Prices were reasonable for the location, in my opinion. The grocery store has quite a selection of local, organic foods, and a nice bulk food section. The packaged items are slightly spendy but what you'd expect for organic quality foods . I am a sucker for cheeses and I think they have some of the best prices in town. They have a unique and clever cheese platter in the cheese section with smaller cheese bites you can buy so you have the chance to taste a whole variety of new cheeses. They also have a nice wine selection. My husband and I meet and eat lunch at their bistro deli several times a week because they have a lovely selection of healthy, delicious, and freshly prepared salads and entrees. They have two "soups of the day" and one is always vegetarian- Yeah! I check their facebook page daily to find out what the new soup and sandwich specials are. There are two large, glass garage doors which open to outdoor seating adding a great atmosphere. They have some nice specials for members with a 10% off everything day once a month and a "happy hour" day weekly offering a few discounted produce items for members on that day. read more

This is a precious gem in a city that is just now beginning to branch out into local, sustainable, organic offerings at affordable prices. I come here for 80% of my grocery shopping. They have local dairy and meat products (meats are all frozen, nothing fresh because the demand isn't there yet). Their bulk dry goods section is not very large but they offer some unique items, such as flour that is grown and produced less than 50 miles away. I really appreciate that this coop also attaches labels to anything within 200 miles of Spokane, making it much easier for me to buy local items. I like their small cheese selection as well. The only reason I don't do 100% of my shopping here is that their produce offerings are meager and many are not from the area. I think they excel in other areas, however, and I can get my fruits and vegis at the farmers market or Public market or go out and visit the farm myself. read more

I came here almost every week I was in town during a 3-month long work trip in Spokane. I really enjoyed all the different offerings here, especially the on-tap kombucha and the salad bar. My favorite kombucha was the pineapple ginger and my favorites from the salad bar included the chicken, tofu, beet salad, and the pad thai salad. I also regularly got fresh fruit and sampled the in-house dessert selections, which were all stellar. I can't speak to the co-op experience, but I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking to pick-up a quick meal or snacks! This place was conveniently located across from the convention center. I wanted a lunch that was quick and to-go, so the salad bar was perfect. The bar is small yet very well equipped. At my visit, the price was $8.99 a pound, which is very good. All the toppings were fresh and excellent, but I especially liked the caprese salad (that cheese!) and the seasoned, chopped chicken. The dressings were good, too. I tried the green goddess and (I think) a white wine vinaigrette. The resulting salad was delicious. I was recommending this as a meal option to lots of folks at Worldcon. read more

I worked for a health food store when I lived in Billings, and nearly cried when we found Main Market after we moved to Spokane! The prices are good, and a lot of local fare. We get most of our groceries here, and the occasional breakfast sandwich! They're super yummy, but oh how I wish they had a gluten free version! The staff is lovely-Ariel, Shane, Cyd (when she was there)--awesome people! There are others, but I don't know their names....yet. I love being able to support the co-op! They have great employees and their little to go foods near the register are so tasty. My favorite is the peanut butter bar. For a small store they have a great selection of produce from local farms and plenty of plant based foods to choose from. Their drink cooler has a variety as well of sodas and kombucha. This place is so close to my job and I love coming here! They have one of the best salad bars around town. Good and fresh selection and so delicious, because you make it just the exact way you want it. Think of this place as mixture of Huckleberry mixed with Trader Joe's.. They have a lot of options to choose from, especially for the people with special diet requirements; gluten free, vegan, and so on.. I'm not a heath buff so I don't watch my figure but watch what sorta goodies are available to be eaten or purchased . Service there is really good of all the times I've been there, I don't go there as often as I would like to.. like often to be familiar with the staff. I've actually applied to work here before but I'm not Main market staff material but I do love being a customer (main reason I've applied there). Another thing I'd love to point out, is that it's in a really good location as well. For businesses, residents in the surrounding area as well as being around some hotels which always brings more new comers to rave about this store . First of all, I have an issue with the only grocery store IN downtown being a co-op, where you have to pay a membership cost. Many people downtown on the weekends may just want to pop in for a healthy snack and having to pay a fee to buy just a little something to nibble on is really kind of annoying. (Have had to do this when out with daughter and grandson - yuck!) Too gourmet in many regards, a mini-Huckleberrys. Prices are often way high in my opinion, and I'd like to find affordable food options when I'm there. read more
