Best Auto Tags is an Ardmore institution. Seriously, they've been in this spot for as long as I can remember. How is it that they have been here this long? They provide a in important service, and they do it generally quite well. We have mostly used them for their Notary services. Yes, we know, you can get notary services at a bank...if they currently have one and if that person is there when you go. At Best Auto Tags, they always have a notary, the service is fast and friendly, and the cost is reasonable enough to make it attractive vs free-but-not-always-available at the banks. Atmosphere? Functional. Over the years they've replaced the 1970s era plaid couch with waiting room chairs that look nicer but not as comfortable. The walls are still paneled and decoration is mostly license plates from different states and eras affixed to the walls. Sometimes there's a plant. Then again, I'm not there for the stylish decor. We've never had a problem doing business with them. I readily concede that sometimes people will - you are after all working with PennDOT and the DMV in many transactions. I'd offer though that those same types of problems happen AT the DMV, and this place is both closer and has fewer lines. Easy parking in a metered township lot directly next to the business or across the street in another metered lot. It's Lower Merion Township, so you get the first 10 minutes on the meter free, and often I can get what I need done in that free-minute timeframe. read more

Best Auto Tags has been my go-to notary service for the past five years while I have worked from my home office. The staff (often one person) know their jobs and are attentive and polite to each customer. Perhaps their courtesy rubs off on customers as sometimes people with complex issues will let those of us just needing a notary to be served ahead of them. The office decor is quite dated, which can make for some interesting reading while waiting. I tried two or three other notary services before selecting Best as my go-to. read more

If I could give a negative rating to this location, I would. I have been waiting for almost a year for my title and registration and every time I call, I am simply brushed off by a nonchalant employee who could not give a flying f*** about my situation. After months of consistent calling and visits to the office where they made me wait while they 'checked' on my records, they always sent me back with nothing, telling me there is nothing they can do, without even trying. The cherry on top on the icing on top of the sh*tcake they have been serving me is some employee telling me "he's just an employee." Well good news Mr. Just-an-employee, you're not doing your job. A stone monkey could replace you and at least look cute while ignoring me. This place gives zero sh**s about customer satisfaction and will go to large extents to be rude and abrasive when I tried to explain my situation. I walked into the clerk arguing loud as all get out on speaker phone to begin with, no biggie, everyone has issues, it has nothing to do with me I thought. I thought wrong. I politely say hello and let her know that I'm there to register my car. I gave her my PA I.d. and she says that I can't register without my license (which is completely untrue), I try to let her know that I have my license but I wasn't able to get it out as she went on a rant.she was so confrontational I let her know I just wanted register and didn't need a license to register and was directed this by penndot. And I do have a valid drivers license. She started raising her voice and repeating the same wrong information. I ended just thanking her, taking my title back and leaving to go elsewhere for better service. This girl was obviously taking whatever she had going on out on me. Completely rude and confrontational. Don't waste your time. I ended up going to Express tags and titles about 5.5 miles away. They were fast and polite. No hassle. read more

This place sucks. Welcome to Soviet era service. Wait a long time because Victoria cannot shut up, with repetitive, inane, and unnecessary, mind bending chatter. Then get denied service unless the request is perfect, and you have all the work done ahead of time. They also do not know Pennsylvania law. read more

Terrible service. Extremely rude staff acts as if you are inconveniencing them. I needed to register a scooter that had a mileage discrepancy on the title. As this was the original title shop, I asked for their help resolving the issue. They said "no problem." Sadly, there were many problems. After 3 months during which they forgot about me (twice) and changed their story about what their records did and didn't say, I finally gave up hope of correcting the error and was willing to accept the incorrect details on the title. But of course, even that didn't work. That day, I talked to an employee I had never seen before. When I pulled out my title, and before I could even get a word out, he snapped at me that the title was defaced and would not be accepted (other employees had said that the minor tear would be fine). I tried to explain that after 3 months all I needed was a little courtesy and I would be on my way, but when he snapped "Fine!" and grabbed the title out of my hand, I took it back and calmly explained that I had other choices of title shops and I didn't have to write a check to someone who treated me that way. He became defensive and loud, but not apologetic, and I left. Bottom line: Go to AAA at 394 West Lancaster Avenue in Haverford (610-649-9000). They were courteous and customer-oriented. Terrible customer service! I went there to get my driver license address updated and ended up going to AAA instead. The woman at the Ardmore location was extremely rude. I stopped there on the first day to have her make copies of my license. She told me I could pick it up a little after they opened at 9:00. I returned at this time the next day to pick up my updated card and she told me to come back after 2:00. When I said I thought it was supposed to be ready for pick up she said "what, you thought it would be done already?" That was only after she cleared her mouth of food! Both days I went there she was eating and did not stop to wait on me. Instead she just pointed at signs and tapped on papers to direct me where to sign and how to fill out my check!!! Go to AAA! It costs half as much, is ready in minutes, and great customer service! read more

The personnel at Best Auto Tags were very help and most importantly, very knowledgeable. I had a rather complicated title change. This involved the DMV of Pennsylvania and the DMV of Florida. Best told me exactly how to do the paperwork in Pennsyvania and the personnel to speak to in Florida. If I could give 0 stars I would for this business. They are the rudest, most incompetent people that I have ever dealt with. The owner Chris and all of his staff are incompetent. The worst customer service, never ever a call back and lie after lie. I payed extra to expedite a handicap placard that I need after my surgery. They told me they have a currier that goes to Harrisburg ever day and I would have my placard in a couple of days. Its been 3 weeks and no placard. Every time I call they tell me it will be in their office the next day. The last time I called, the office manager told me she was going to hang up on me for yelling at her. I told her that I was not yelling at her but that I will come to the store in person and deal with the issue. She told me that she will call the police if I came into her office. I asked her name and she told me that she didn't have to give it to me. I wish I would have read all the other negative reviews before I did business with this bunch of idiots. I arrived close to closing to transfer my auto title, only to discover that I did not have the title with the papers. I had to return home get the title and return to Best Auto Tags in Ardmore, PA... Sean, the Notary waited for me to return which was about 15 to 20 minutes past closing. He completed the transfer in a professional and courteous manner.
