I ordered a TV from Best Buy to be delivered to my place of employment. It was ordered on a Tuesday for delivery on Wednesday. At 6:09 PM, I received a notification that it was being picked up for delivery -- well after business hours at my workplace. I tried calling the store, but that was nearly impossible. You have to go through an automated system and answer multiple questions before you can finally get transferred to a person. Even then, they were unable to contact the delivery carrier, Roadie, to stop the delivery attempt. The delivery was attempted at 8:55 PM. I reviewed the security footage the following morning. The driver pulled up in a sedan to a building with no vehicles in the parking lot, unloaded a 50" TV from the trunk, carried it to the door, tried one locked door and then the other two locked doors, called my cell phone (which I didn't hear because I was asleep), then loaded the TV back into the trunk and left. To make matters worse, flat-screen TVs are not supposed to be laid flat, and the box even states that. It will be a long time -- if ever -- before I spend money at Best Buy again. And if I do, I definitely will not choose delivery. read more

Worst customer service EVER. Rude in-store staff at the Benton Harbor location tonight when we made a payment. We then left and tried calling the 269.926.6800 number listed for the Benton Harbor store and it goes to a call center who knows where. We talked to two different people who said they would transfer us, but then hung up on us. First we talked to Sylvia twice. She hung up on us. Then we talked to Rudy who said he would transfer us to a manager and instead we got a random voicemail that said to leave a message. Totally incompetent staff that don't know how to operate a phone. Poor reflection of Best Buy. No wonder they have such low ratings. Do NOT go here. They don't care about the customer. read more

I am a new resident in the area and have used the Benton Harbor MI Best Buy Geek Squad twice during the past month. Both times, they were excellent, and both times my lead service rep was Austin Maynor. Austin is a STAR. First time, I had my computer upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11. The second time, I had a frozen keyboard, and had tried to resolve it myself online and with YouTube video advice, to no avail. Both times, I was able to rapidly get in-person Geek Squad appointments in Benton Harbor. For the Windows 11 upgrade, Austin outlined the process for me, and as I was going out of town and needed the computer back very quickly-- he and Justin especially made an effort to get the upgrade done immediately, within the same day. For the keyboard problem, Austin solved it in 30 seconds, but then also did some general checking on my computer and found another error I had made relating to the keyboard and also fixed that. Plus he quickly answered several other miscellaneous questions I had, which was VERY helpful. I am very grateful to have the annual Geek Squad contract. And serious kudos to Austin Maynor. Came in to Best Buy today for a graphics card. Service was quick and friendly as always. The staff here is honestly great. I know one of the employees that has been here for years, Sam, and he is always helpful and nice. He always makes us laugh and asks if we need anything. Whenever I am here I always check to see if they have any Bob's Burgers dvds which no store seems to, so for that I shall venture to the interwebs. On a weekend away, my laptop's cord started not working. There was a Best Buy in the area so I thought I'd get a new cord so I could check emails and get some work done. Creepy place, it was dark and the shelves were barely stocked, the store was a ghost town. I get why these big box stores are struggling against Amazon. The only laptop cords they had were like $80+ and didn't fit my laptop. Even though they stock the same brand and a very similar model. I asked for help and the guy was helpful enough but his suggestion was that I just buy another laptop. Ok so if I run out of gas, I guess the logic is I buy a new car? I asked if there was any place nearby that may have a cord, he didn't offer any options. Tired of buying ill-fitting printer cartridges made by the manufacturer of my printer, I did my online search and narrowed my selection of a new printer to two options. I thought I was going to the electronic specialty store. When I walked into the store, there were only a few customers and about ten associates standing around, so I walked directly to the computer section thinking someone would acknowledge a 6' tall customer. Tried to call this store directly about a battery replacement for my Note9. My call was rerouted to a Best Buy corporate operator. She assurred me that the Benton Harbor store could replace my Note9 battery, that this store had it in stock and it would cost $60. I had to schedule an appointment for this service. I arrived five minutes early but had to wait 15 mins before anyone in the geek squad would see me. What's the point of an appointment? Then I was informed that they only did battery replacements on iPhones and not Samsung phones. What a waste of time. If Best Buy corporate allowed local stores to take phone calls I would have been informed that this store couldn't help me and I wouldn't be writing this review. The manager needs to stand up for his customers to allow his store to take phone calls and not reroute them through corporate! read more

They wanted $100 for a diagnostic and $200 upfront should it be the hard drive. AGAIN they DID NOTHING. My wife has been asking for a new iPad and iWatch for the past year. So for her 50th birthday I thought it would be a good time to surprise her with both of them. Little that I knew that the Best Buy location in Benton Harbor didn't feel as I did or cared to sell any of their product to me for my Wife's 50th birthday. I like to shop local, and ever since the Benton Harbor location had opened up my entire family has shopped here for over 20+ years. We spend enough money every year to maintain our Elite status within Best Buy. The customer service has been outstanding up until her recently and more so forgotten about during my last visit. On top of having no customer service the professionalism was also missing. Walking into any Best Buy store the first thing always that you receive is the greeting from one of the associates. During this visit it was the same. You have a nice employee dressed in the recognizable Best Buy attire greeting people as they walk in. However, after entering the store the professionalism and recognizable associates wasn't the same, as it didn't appear that anyone else was staffing the sales floor at first impressions. During this visit there were several customers that were standing in the section that handled the computer products and no one around to help. I stood there looking around to see if I could see if I could locate someone to help us and after about 5 minutes it was clear that the only one I could recognize as an employee was the door greeter. So, I walked over and asked him if there was someone to help me in the computer area? He said that he would find someone to give him a few minutes. So, I walked back over and while I was standing waiting I asked the other customers if they had been helped and they said basically what I noticed is that there was no one around to help. During this time several people had walked past us and it wasn't until the second person walked past that I noticed that the people walking around in normal clothes had earpieces in their ears. Another 10 minutes had past at this point and two individuals came over that appeared to be customers and it wasn't until I asked one of them if he works here because I noticed he was wearing an ear piece, he said yes and how could he help me. I told him I had a few questions about the model of iPad & Apple watch that I was interested in purchasing if he could answer them and he said sure. After deciding which ones I wanted and after the sale associate confirmed that he had both in stock I told him I'm ready to buy lets get them. So, he unlocked the cabinet and found the blue iPad I wanted. The Apple Watch was a different story. I wanted the blue 40mm and the inventory said they had a 40mm to sell in the blue. After searching all that could be found was a 44mm blue. The sales associate said since the inventory was incorrect he would sell me the 44mm for the same price as the 40mm but needed to get his managers approval. Walking up to check out the sales associate stopped by this lady sitting at a counter by the front door playing on a computer. When he interrupted her I realized that it was his manager. She was not wearing anything with the Best Buy logo on her clothes. She asked him if he checked the office to locate the 40mm and he said he had not because he didn't realize that the kept the watches in the office. So he went to check the office. After returning about 10 minutes later he told her that he couldn't find it. At this time if looks could kill he wouldn't be with us today because she got up like she didn't want to move from that spot and acted as if we were bothering her and she wanted to see if she could find it. As she walked at a snails pace she walked back to the cabinet that we just came from then I heard some laughter because of another associate that walked up to her then she disappeared. Now at this time I have been waiting for her to return for about 30 minutes and several other customers have checked out during the time I was waiting. I have been at the store for over an hour and the sales associate said that he gets off work at 6pm. and informs me that if I want the product to go on line and buy it there because there is nothing he can do. I said, are you kidding me I have been there for over an hour and your going to let an elite customer walk out of the store? He said yes! So, at the end of the day I was not able to purchase from Best Buy what I intended in purchasing for my wife's 50th birthday and the sales team didn't care anything about customer satisfaction. We did buy a junk Toshiba laptop that we could not return because we missed thier 15 day return policy so that was a waste of about $800. So beware of that. This is absolutely the Worst place for customer service that I have ever witnessed. The staff are only helpful until they have your money. Then you are on your own. Bought a car stereo, had an appointment for installation of the stereo. When I arrived for the appointment the staff were rude. After dealing with 2 separate Very rude employees I finally was approached by a a manager who not only Started off just as Rude as the employees but she became aggressive towards me. They had a good price and would match other prices but wouldn't install it in an RV. Come on people, what's the difference? I went to the store with a purpose: to buy a computer monitor and speakers. I went straight to the computer department and began perusing monitors in plain view of the sales agent for the area. For nearly 10 minutes this agent didn't even so much as acknowledge my presence. This was on a clear trajectory for a 1-star review, except there was Brianna. She saw me from a distance and determined I might need assistance. She closed the distance from the other side of the store and extended her hand, introduced herself and asked if there was anything she could help with. I told her about my experience and what I was looking for. She apologized and wasted no time researching the products I was looking for and getting me to a check-out counter posthaste. Friendly, attentive. In the age where online sales are fast and easy, often something as simple as an outstretched hand can bridge the gap between an in-store sale and an online loss. Geek guy spent 25 minutes talking to incompetent customer about wireless routers. 4 people in back of me. No other clerks to process repair orders. The staff, and particularly the women with the bad haircut, makes it as difficult as possible to get to the root of your problem. Fact, logic and reasoning are thrown out the window. Staff could use customer service education! I did online purchase for store pick up. It should be fast, simple and a time saver. The one line for "store pick up" appeared to be multi purpose customer service line. I waited at 20 minutes waiting for another customer with a return. I brought the document indicated as instructed online following the it clearly stated purchase could be picked up in 45 minutes. The clerk had difficulty finding the purchase. She stated I needed an mail confirming pick up. I had made purchase 1 day prior. I finally had to indicate it was a box sitting on the floor by the store pick ups. I went into store today to purchase new washer. I waited for store staff to wrap up a floor model for a customer. I then told clerk I wanted to purchase one of the unit on sale. She told me that they had none in stock and that I would need to wait until the following week. I then told her I would take the floor unit only to be told that she could not sell it to me even though I just watched them sell a floor model.... Very rude and disrespectful the entire time. I am a college student(freshman) looking for a laptop. I decided that the best place to look would be Best Buy because of the papers they send out in the weekly newspaper ads. I planned on purchasing a laptop but wasn't quite sure about all of the specs and details. My grandfather was helping me pick one out and he also didn't know much about laptops. We go into the store and a salesperson named Ronnie begins to "help" us. The entire conversation consists of him interrupting us when we have questions, becoming very irritated when we asked about details, and him getting offended when we asked about specific features that we didn't feel were necessary telling us there is "no such thing as a laptop like that" which isn't true because I owned one last year that I returned to the school for future students use. When it was time to check out our purchases, he proceeded to tell us a price and didn't tell us there was an extra fee that would take place because of out of state tax. Another employee came over to explain the fee and when I asked a question she became very defensive about the situation. At the end of all of this, my grandfather got my laptop, and I left. Only to find out that the lady that "helped" with the fee made a rude comment about me to my grandfather... "you must have patience of steel to deal with her". I'm sorry that I am a concerned student that wants to get her money's worth and know where it's going. Is that a problem Best Buy?? Because if so, then the name of your business is misleading.
