It took three trips to best buy for home audio equipment before we finally had enough and went to Visions. First occasion we purchased speakers that were defective, but previously "inspected", second was for a receiver which to my surprise actually worked, third was to replace the defective speakers. Best buy had many employees working, almost no one is the store, and no one helped me on two of the three occasions. When someone did ask if I needed help finding audio equipment, they pointed down the isle to where they kept their products and left. Terrible experience. On another note, the Visions off Parsons road was exceptional! We were in and out within 5 minutes with a better product for less money. I just had the worst customer service ever. It all makes sense why the customer service is so bad when I saw there are so many reviews complained about this store. What happened is that I just found out my credit card was charged by best buy this month for the GeekSquard membership. I was not expecting for this, so I called GeekSquard to find out. The man who took my phone told me that I should definitely pay for it. Even though I want to cancel it, I still need to pay for the membership for at least 6 months. When I pointed out that it is quite different from what he is telling me now and what the sale guy told me before. He just told me to call the 1800 number to find out. He did not even tell me what the 1800 number is and didn't let me to finish. Then he just hung up on me. It is never ever correct to hang up on people. It is totally unrespectful and rude behavor. So I called their manager to file up the complaint. At first the manager assistant told me that the manager is on the phone, so I waited up for a long time. Finally, the manager picked up the phone and told me that he didn't know the situation and maybe there were lots of customers, it was just a mistake. I said I need an apology from the guy who talked to me earlier. He said he had no way to find out who this person is. If I want to talk about it, call the 1800 number. The customer service is totally a disaster. I will never ever come back to this store. It is so unfair to me and I feel hurt. As a person, you should never ever let anyone feel this way. I generally like Best Buy but the customer service at this store is horrible. They do not greet you at the door, but they check your receipt and items before leaving to make sure that you did not steal anything. They don't even give you a plastic bag at the cashier because you might be a thief. Leaves a very bad taste in your mouth when you leave the store. When you try to return or exchange an item, the sales associates are super rude. The people who are trying to help you around the store are generally fine, but there is not enough of them. Also, the selection is not that great. I honestly liked the Future Shop much better where they treated you like a human being. read more

staff are like big foot nowhere to be seen, and when you do find one they tell you to go over to another part and you wait...and wait....and wait. i told my son if they dont help us today im not going there ever again and sure enough the i pod i got my son doesnt work and they said oh just take it to an apple store...well if they sell it they should do all that for you...im never going to this store again read more

My son purchased a nexus tablet 1 year 3 months ago as a birthday present for my wife. She hasn't used it in about 5 months. It will not power up even after charging over night. Took it back to Best buy. Very friendly when I walked in and was told to take it to the Geek Squad in the back and they will fix it. They plugged it in using their own chargers and they couldn't start it up either. They told me that as at right now it's just an expensive paper weight. They asked for a receipt and then asked if we we purchased extended warranty. I did not know and assumed there wasn't as it was a gift. They said there is nothing they can do and manufacturers warrenty has also expired. In an extreme senior frustration mode I asked him if that meant they sold us a piece of s--t. No comment. As I walked out the guy at the door asked if I was all fixed up.. I told him the same thing about there service and products they sell NEXUS. read more

My purchase at Best Buy was the worst purchase I ever made. I bought a TV there and bought the extended warranty. Now I'm having problems and the TV was expensive and only two years old. They said you have to bring it in. I asked "you sure because I'm certain I was told they'd come to me if I had trouble?" When I brought it in, they said "why are you bringing it here? If you leave it here you'll be without a TV for 60 days." So... I bring it back home and called the number they gave me. I'm put on hold and wait and wait and wait until the phone just cuts off. I call again and the same thing happens! When I finally get through, they tell me I have to bring the TV in! After talking to a supervisior, I finally have an appointment booked for them to come to me (and booking that appointment took me TWO HOURS). I rush home from work on the scheduled date only to have a message left on my answering machine telling me that my appointment has been cancelled because it was improperly booked. Can you believe it?? THEN... I have to call again to rebook which takes another freakin' hour! I will never shop at Best Buy again. I must have talked to about 20 different people in total (some pleasant and trying to help and one who was very rude) but nobody seems to know what they're doing! Grrrrrr.... read more

I went last week to the store located in South Edmonton Common, 9931 19 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T6N 1M4 to purchase my wife's birthday present, a Samsung 7 tablet with the case and screen protector, all Samsung tablets have a promo of $20 bucks credit in a Cinema app. I mentioned that couple of times to the guy who sold me the tablet, he told me to don't worry and i will get it on my receipt, he charged my credit card an once i was ready to leave i notice NO promo I got, went back an Customer Service "helped me" to get that promo. Without asking the customer service guy made a refund to my credit card to make a new bill (but i had just enought since the beginning to buy my wife's present) and then charged me again for a new purchase, an then he told me the previous purchase will be refund in 2 or 3 business day. I told him I haven't enough credit available and he should asked me before doing that transaction. Then, he made me call my bank in my personal cellphone to see if I was able to get my transfer inmediately, wich wasn't possible (15 min personal airtime). They made me wait for another 30 minutes "trying found a solution to their mistake" just to tell me they were sorry and it wasn't nothing they can do. And close the problem. At the end I walked out with empty hands, no money in my credit card and without a present for my wife thanks to the customer service mistakes. I got my money back few days after, but they really screwed me for her birthday surprise. After I got the money, I decided to purchase a tablet at Memmory Express, at least the people there knows about the product they are selling. I would never recommend Best Buy South Edmonton Common to anyone! read more
