I looked up 3D printer sales in Grand Rapids and Best Buy came up with a brand name printer. I stopped in there on 3/30/26 to see what they had. They had two mid-price units, in the boxes and that was it. No supplies, no entry-level units, no displays, nothing else. Even Hobby Lobby sells filament! Best Buy on alpine is an absolute joke!! Tried to buy a remote car starter and have it installed and they fucked up everything. I show up for my install just to find out they ordered the wrong shit. So they smooth it over and order me everything and we try this again. Made it 6 hours before I get a call saying it's not gonna take 3 1/2 weeks to get the remote starter ship from Lansing mi, to grand rapids mi. Or I can pick it up myself and drop it off at the store. Only option is wait another month or pick it up myself. i went back into the store to return the 1 item that was sent to my house and I ask to speak to a manage. the manager says he is to busy to speak to me, I'm like fuck that. so they have me wait about 15 minutes just for this fucker to come up and say he has to make sure the store is ok first, before he can speak with me. There is 6 fucking people in the store. after watching him walk around doing absolutely nothing another 10 minutes I walked out. Called corporate and they did nothing as well. I walked into Best Buy/Beltline inquiring about QLEDs or maybe OLED's. Anyway, Alex was patient and kind and provided me with all of the information I needed to make an informed decision on my purchase. He was able to problem solve any hurdles I had to purchasing my new TV, including financing. I did not have the amount needed on my Best Buy card to make the purchase and was going to use my debit card, Alex not wanting me to lose my reward zone points suggested making a payment on my credit card in store and placing the TV on my Best Buy Card which earned my $90 in reward zone certificates! What an awesome problem solver! He also enabled me to pay off my purchase immediately to avoid any interest charges! Additionally, he sold me a better TV mount explaining why with the TV purchased I would need a better mount. He further explained why Total Tech was something worth thinking about b/c the Geek Squad would mount my TV as part of the Total Tech Program. I walked out with a brand new 65 inch OLED, mount, total tech and financing (kind of, see above already had a Best Buy card). I will be going back to Alex to purchase a TV for my mom rather than on line to have shipped to her. I would have done that today, but ran out of time. I don't think this location is particularly better or worse than other Best Buy locations. One problem I have with Best Buy in general is that their Audio-Visual section is devoted to television, surround sound television, there must not be any real audiophile market left. From time to time I think I should update my stereo system, which I use to listen to music, and when I come to a Best Buy like this one to ask, I get the strangest looks. "I was thinking of buying a new stereo system to listen to music, not in my car, in my living room, without a television," seems to sound to a Best Buy worker like "do you have any fetal pigs I could dissect?" I do shop Best Buy quite often. We even bought a whole kitchen of appliances there. This, however, relates to some headphones I ordered. Knowing it was a busy doing time, I expected a shipping delay. Ordered my headphones and was scheduled to be delivered same day! Okay, that worked out unexpectedly but when I received the email saying it would take more time, a day or two, I thought, no big deal. Then I received a notification the were not available for shipping and I should reach out to pick them up in store. I called and had the nearest Best Buy store selected over the phone. Received the 'Order is not ready but being prepared' text as usual. After a bit, received an 'Out of stock' text so I called customer service. They said they could skip them with two day shipping. Sure, okay, I thought. To my amazement they came 2 days later. This is where it all went South (more than it already had). The shipping package was in good shape. The product package was damaged and opened. The ear buds had junk on them including ear wax! Scratches were also present. ARE YOU SERIOUS!? Used head phones after the debacle of dealing with customer service agents multiple times who were reading the screen and responding with canned answers?! I don't mind outsourcing tech support to a certain degree but they need to actually understand what I am saying and be helpful. I chatted with customer support and they did not care and just said I should return them and leave a review. I am leaning said review. You let me down this time, guys. Dishonest company, and as a tech person I will make a strong point to shop elsewhere. Best Buy has 14-day return policy. I purchased a Lenovo Yoga 920 earlier this year, tried it out for one week, and returned it because it did not meet my needs. I cloned the original harddrive contents, installed Linux, and then restored the harddrive to exactly the original state. The physical computer was in exactly the same condition as when I purchased the computer. I 100% followed their policy, gave this computer a good try, and decided against it. I did not "borrow" this computer. I believe what I did was fair. Multiple employees advertised that it was okay to return the computer within 14 days if needed. Then, one week ago I purchased a Google Home speaker and returned it two hours later for an Echo instead. Best Buy then flagged me and told me I may no longer return items to Best Buy. Now I have to deal with some company they partner with called the Retail Equation which appears to be a brick wall. This is dishonest and fraudulent. I've purchased many items from Best Buy and followed the rules, and now I am being punished. I have reported Best Buy to the BBB for this. I will never shop at Best Buy again. read more

Best Buy was supposed to deliver my stove guaranteed by the manager August 19, 2020. Well we sat all day waiting for them and they never showed or called to let us know when they were coming. We sat on hold for hours on end on the phone to find out it wouldn't come until August 24, 2020 and when they came I paid for a gas line and installation and this is how it was left. I was upset and spoke to many associates and no one speaks to the customers apparently. Jason from NJ was rude inconsiderate and disrespectful to me. I spoke to a Michelle in escalation department and she made it seem like she did us a favor delivering it. I then was told they were going to send a plumber, a private company to fix the issue by Jason on Wednesday August 26, 2020 no call no show again. I spoke to Michelle again she said I spoke to someone on August 27, 2020 that we were going to do ourselves, we never spoke to anyone about this so again more lies. I asked who we spoke to and she couldn't give us that information apparently. I was told by Zach for the inconvenience we were getting 500.00 off our original payment and Michelle said she was processing that and it never happened. When I spoke to her she said your lucky your getting that because you shouldn't get nothing. Mind you we have special diets and spent over 2,000 on time off and food for days. Michelle told me her boss Elania don't speak to customers. I was flabbergasted at the way I was treated and Michelle stayed I was lucky to even get 500.00 as I never received. I canceled everything and the receipt isn't what I paid so that will be more drama. I was GUARANTEED a stove because Home Depot could've delivered on the 17th but my old stove wouldn't have been out yet so I purchased it here. I canceled the microwave, refrigerator and now they coming to get the stove and not return my funds. They do not guarantee their installation because these people are not certified in anything. They wanted to shove the stove back is what he told my husband but it was never a third party plumber as promised. They acted as though we were disrespectful to them when they claim it is "human error" and two times not showing and leaving this gap is not human error. I paid for full installation and it stated it came with all hook up and parts. I had Jason from NJ call me 18 times to antagonize me as he also stated he gets dinners because he has a working stove. If I were anyone I wouldn't buy an appliance a movie or nothing from these people. They don't know what customer service is. They won't speak to you and treat you like they doing you a favor delivering your items late and impartial. Home Depot delivered my refrigerator with door drop off and took care of us and installed it, didn't expect anything in return. I don't know where these people learn their manners but they have none. Who wouldn't be upset to not have a stove? Who wants to wait all day for no one to show call or email? Everytime going here is an excersise in frustration. I only go if I have no other choice. The sercurity people hassel you on the way out. The lines at the register are long. You can never find anyone to help you. When you finally do, they staff are clueless. I went to help my brother buy a computer. We saw no one to help us. We choose one and grabbed a box and walked to the cash register. Only then did someone come running and yelling at us for taking an item right off the shelf that was open to the public. Well, it was clean at least. Couldn't find an employee anywhere, until I walked over to the phone section. Suddenly, everyone wanted to help me. Also, when we last went went in we had placed an online order for Rock Band 4. Spent $60 on the game, and went to pick it up. When we got there, we were told that the last copy had been sold. As we were trying to explain that yes, we had ordered it online so that should be the copy, a manager interrupted and very rudely told us that another manager had sold the copy that was being held for us (again, already purchased) to another customer. We had purchased it before we left, it took us an hour to get there. In that time, the game had been sold. Because we had purchased it online, the manager couldn't figure out how to do a proper refund and told us it would be refunded within 3 days. After a week, we called the store, who told us to call corporate. After two hours on the phone, we had the taxes refunded. And nothing else. We've spent 10+ hours calling them, trying to get our refund (or at least an in store credit) for the game we never received. The last time we called, we were told that the case had been closed because so much time had passed. Awesome. read more

This review is more about the Geek Squad team than Best Buy itself. I took my custom build PC into them because I was having an issue installing drivers after a complete reinstall of Windows 10 and not displaying after installing a second RAM stick. First of all, I don't know how many times I have to say my own name out loud for it to be pronounced correctly. That was mildly annoying but the service I received was what really took the cake. I dropped my computer off and they said they would call within the next 24 hours... 3 days go by... No phone call. I had to call them to get an update on the computer. When I call they say they were able to get my computer back in running order and I could come pick it up. I go to pick up the computer and the service rep said they had their 'best guy' on the issue but he was only part time. So... you've had my computer for three days and only had one person working on the issue... for a max total of probably 8 hours. I'm not blaming the employee that worked on it, I'm actually blaming the management of the team for that one. They were able to get the system back up and running but weren't able to find the cause of the non-displaying RAM stick. This is where I get upset. They had to reinstall Windows, but that's not what upset me. What upset me was that rather than call me and ask if it was okay to do so, they just went ahead and did it. So once I booted up my computer, I had the dreaded October update on my system. I was not pleased at all. There was zero communication from them regarding the status of my system throughout this entire thing. That being said everything was working... for a while. Not 3 months later my system seriously takes a turn for the worst. My GPU was overheating with no obvious explanation, leaving me with random black screens. After a month of troubleshooting, I threw my hands up and decided to take it to a professional (NOT GEEK SQUAD) and have them fix it. I took in the system to Computer Rescue 911 (HIGHLY recommended, 3070 Broadmoor Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49512) And they called not once, not twice, BUT THREE TIMES while they had my system for a week. A week. Come to find out, it was a corrupt/bad windows install. Not to mention they only charged me for the initial diagnostic fee and another hour of work - $176 total. I spent almost twice that with the diagnostic fee and the labor fees at Geek Squad and ended up with an even bigger problem than my initial issue. In summary, customer service sucked and they weren't able to actually fix my issue - in fact made it worse. So yeah, don't go here for your computer issues. At least not if you're smarter than the average bear about computers. read more

This is the worst experience of a purchase in my life. I'm 65. Washer/ dryer to be delivered today between 8-12. A no show. At 1:00pm a garbled poorly speaking woman left a message we made out something about a washer. Can't talk to a human without a 1hr 10 min. Hold. Then an email appears that our delivery is rescheduled for a week from today with out asking us if that works. Lost a days wages waiting for them. Found out they knew at 8:00 am they weren't coming but didn't notify us with the garbled message til 1:00pm never shop there again! read more
