There's something reassuringly tangible in actually holding something, and undergoing the viewing/listening ritual. Anyway, this location is in the same store area as the Target in Hixson, so there's the same difficulity in actually 'seeing' the store if you're proceeding on Hwy 153. Just look for the TARGET logo on the entrance sign - - easy to see. They have the same 'meet or beat' option on pricing of like items, which these days is rather a standard. I must compliment the staff on their patience while I decided upon a sound system for my TV. Not only did they hook up several systems for me, they insisted that I play several tracks of MY soundtrack material on each, just so I'd have something to compare while making a decision. In April 2026 I drove an hour and a half to the Best Buy in Chattanooga, TN and purchased a 75" Sony Bravia 9 TV and a Sony 8 sound bar. I also purchased a protection plan. A delivery date was setup for two weeks after purchase date. Date came and no delivery. No TV in stock. So after complaining with a telephone supervisor in the Customer Support division, I changed the purchase to a 65" Bravia 9 because I was told by the Customer Support national phone supervisor person that a 65" was in stock. Nope. Took another 3 weeks before they could deliver. Yesterday the sound bar died. Called Best Buy and they want to charge me $129 (starting rate) to service the sound bar even though I bought a protection plan. The sales folks sold the plan as if I have 100% coverage from day one of the purchase for two years. Come to find out, it only kicks in AFTER the manufactures one year warranty. So what did I pay for then? The entire purchase has been nothing but lies and deceptive sales practices. This is the last thing that I will EVER purchase from Best Buy. Buyer beware, advise one to take their hard earned money and go to a different electronic entertainment sales store for such purchases. read more

#StopAsianHate I was in the Best Buy store in Hixson Tennessee today trying to return a projector. An employee Leevi helped me but told me that there's a restocking fee. I was not informed about the restocking fee when I made the purchase. Then a manager Christy came over and told me that there was nothing she could do for me. She said that I should have signed for the restocking fee twice before I made the purchase. But this was an online order for in-store pick up so I wasn't aware or have any knowledge of the restocking fee policy. After a few minutes, that manger told me that the restocking fee policy would have been on my order confirmation email. I showed her the email but there was no restocking fee stated. Then she told me again that there was nothing she can do for me and if I wanted to have all my restocking fees waived, I would have to buy the totaltech membership for $199.99. I felt that I was treated differently due to my Asian descent and I let the manager know that. She then said: "you're pulling the race card?" And: "you can get out the store now." When she called 911, she gave a description of me as an Asian man. She told the operator that I may have a weapon. I was in shorts and tshirt so you can clearly see that I don't have any weapons on me. I was a police officer in Virginia so I know you can't just throw me out of the store because you don't want to help me due to my race. The manager told the officers to ban me from this store. I didn't threaten anyone nor have any weapons on me. This is discrimination to the next level. If Best Buy is OK with this behavior then just let me know so my family and I can shop somewhere else where we don't get treated differently due to our race. read more

Here's the deal, they wasted my time and money for nearly an entire month. I paid $89 up front to have my laptop charging port placed back into my case. I had it checked in on May 24th and just received my device back today WITH NOTHING REPAIRED. First they misunderstood the problem with my computer and replaced the wrong part then they let my laptop sit around for a week only to tell me that the part I needed was no longer in production. They don't actually do the repairs in house. They ship your computer off across the country to a completely inept facility that takes your computer apart and doesn't even check what it looks like reassembled before shipping it back. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from Geek Squad. Would give 0 stars if it was an option. read more

I dislike giving businesses negative feedback, but I have to say that this BestBuy should close and a better friendlier electronic store should come in its place. First of all employees need to be friendlier with customers, they are paying your salary and making the owners/share holders wealthier. Remember we have the Internet we could buy from, but we decide to come in. Second, I came in with the intentions of buying a new radio and a set of speakers, after being in the car audio department for a few minutes trying to see what I wanted to buy, I had to get an employee that was passing by to call another employee for that area. When the employee came I ask him if he can let me hear a pair of speakers that I saw in the boat systems are, he played around trying to make it work and he said that he can't get it to work. I was like ok, so I took him to the big display with all the radios and speakers and asked him that I wanted to hear a particular Sony radio and he told me that he could not put it on , because they only had one radio that worked for all the speakers. So I told him that was a sorry system they had in place. So I took him to the opposite end so I can hear some pioneer and le wood speakers and he said that it wasn't working. So I told him that's pretty sorry, out of the 3 things I wanted to hear and more likely buy because that is why I came in there was some issue. I spoke to a member of management in the front and he said that they had a ticket wrote up, common that's is a sorry excuse you are a multi million or maybe billion dollar company. If something breaks it should be fix ASAP. It sounded from both employees that those issues have been like that for a while. Management you can make all types of excuses why pretty much the audio system is down, but how can you make money out of that section, this all falls on you. Also train your employees to be friendlier and caring for your customers. It Gad been probably 5 or more years since I had been in your store, I'm done with Best Buy. I bought a fitbit on best buy online on sale, it turned out to be the wrong size. I took it back to the Hixson store only to exchange it for a bigger size. Brandon, at the service counter said "no problem, go pick the size you need and bring it back for exchange." When i did he credited me the sale price and charged me the full retail for an exchange. i refused to pay the additional $30 and asked to see a manager. I didn't get to see a manager but after about 10 minutes Brandon came back and took the extra $30 off the EXCHANGE and still tried to charge me $2.70 for the tax difference he said. Again, i asked for a manager. I still didn't get to see a manager but then Brandon took the tax off and i was on my way. i am writing this because even though the transaction was successful, what if a less skeptical person tried the same thing and got taken advantage of by either unscrupulous store policies or improperly trained associates? I use to love best buy! i have spend a lot of money there over the years. To start off i was very excited about this purchase from best buy. i was in the market for a new DJI phantom 4 drone. and soon after getting this drone home it would not take a charge on the battery. I was little upset, but understood that these things happen, at the time it was to late to return the item or exchange it. so i decided to take care of it the next morning. fast forward to 8 am. the next morning. i walk in with the drone to customer service, the individual at the counter was more than helpful. He was just going to exchange the whole purchase. upon finding they was out of stock i mentioned that all i needed to do was replace the battery. being a $1500 drone i would be willing to just swap battery packs out. This took a managers approval. This is where we take a steep downhill plummet, the manager was arrogant from the beginning. i explained the issues and asked what we could do. proposing my idea. He then said well we cannot do that sir, in a condescending tone. He then tells me as if hes doing me a favor that he could refund me. I stated that he did not have a choice he had to refund me as per the policy of the company. I then stated that his horrible attitude and leadership was why brick and mortar stores are going out of business. At that point i was pretty upset and stated i would be calling corporate about how he handled the whole situation and that i would be canceling my Best Buy card over the situation. This is when he comes back in and tries to actually make the situation right, only when he knew he would be in trouble. In all my situation was resolved at the store but will be my last purchase with best buy period.In all the one particular manager has stained and forever changed my whole outlook on best buy as a company. Needed to make changes to my payment in store - was told that was not possible- was handed a 1-800 number to call. Called the number - was told they could not help - had to update online. Went to update online - website was not working......Was told I could cancel order online and purchase in store but they could not honor the on line sales price - guess that whole "price match guarantee" not available to match their own price ...... I don't think the sales price was worth the hassle. Plenty of other online options with better service. Save yourself the hassle! read more

I am writing about my recent experience with the company's Geek Squad. My phone's camera was not working correctly. I have Geek Squad coverage. Here were my options for either getting it repaired or replaced. I could send my phone in and after getting it checked out, I would either get it repaired or replaced. I would be without a phone for a length of time. OR I could have about $275 held on a credit card (not a Best Buy credit card :-/) while I have a replacement phone sent to me. I would then have 30 days to send my phone with a faulty camera back where it will be throughly inspected. My money will be released when the phone passes inspection. This is massive difference on previous procedures. In the recent past (less than a year) when one had a malfunctioning smart phone in which was covered under a Geek Squad protection plan, they would bring it into Best Buy's Geek Squad. Upon in-store inspection, your faulty phone would be approved for replacement or your faulty phone would be handed back to you with an explanation on why you were not eligible for a replacement. If you were approved, in a couple days you would get notification that your replacement phone was in and after a quick trip to the store, all was well. Needless to say, I felt forced to give them my money for who knows how long. I am not happy about this. This will be the last time I get Geek Squad protection for a cell phone. This is the sorriest best buy I have been too. The staff is rude. you can be in line and hear the staff talking bad about the customer that was just in front of you. I would rather buy online or drive to shallowford best buy that deal with these people. If you as for a manager, they will either point to someone else who is not the manager or tell you they are not around. Good thing I know how the manager looks.
