My experience with this store was very disappointing. I purchased a phone through a payment plan and was also convinced to pay for insurance, which cost me an additional $200. When my device stopped working, I expected the insurance to help replace or repair it. Instead, they had no replacement device available and offered no real option to fix it. The only solution they provided was a $600 voucher, but that amount already includes the $200 I paid for the insurance. In reality, they are only giving me about $400. On top of that, it is difficult to find a decent phone for $600, and I am still required to continue making payments on a device that no longer works. I feel misled and extremely dissatisfied with how my case was handled. I would not recommend this store or its insurance plans to anyone. read more

I recently purchased an LG tv, scheduled delivery, but didn't realize that only meant placing TV box on floor. To hang TV on wall was an extra $70. Reluctant I paid the fee, they hung TV, turned it on and adjusted some color, but couldn't connect to sound bar. I was told Geek Squad could come for an additional fee. Again I hesitated but had no choice since TV sound was horrible. Waited 3 days, called several times but could never connect with Geek Squad. Finally with (free) help from Google, I was able to get sound myself from sound bar. So beware and be ready when purchasing from this store... only delivering the appliance and box comes with your purchase price. If connections, or additional work is involved, many additional fees could be required. I won't be back . Too many stores to choose from where placement, adjustment, etc is included in the price. read more

Horrible experience. On the website it said that they had 2 radar detectors. When I walked into the store, the managers said they had 2 in stock and I told them to grab them for me. They said they couldn't find it. Their reason for this was that they don't track their inventory, however they are supposed to. Jisela, "supervisor" or "inventory manager" gave us a horrible experience. We drove over an hour and didn't get what we needed because their system is dumb and outdated. It seems Best Buy is always a fail SAVE for me. Everyone, meaning big box stores vs. specialty stores, sells just about everything when it comes to phones, computers, printers, headphones, TVs and all the associated accessories. But I had a problem printing wirelessly, so we I went to a Best Buy for a solution. The problem was an HP printer that had WiFi printing capability would not make the connection. I have heard that there are blocks preset for certain cable modems that cause this issue but I decided not to spend time on the phone chasing this down. I wanted a cable to hook the printer directly up to a laptop which is not recommended by the printer company. A little tag sealing the plug-in hole for a cable said so. The cable was not an ethernet cable as you would think because it used to be that way. Now it is a specific type of USB cable with a unique plug-in adapter for a printer. Once I showed the GEEK guy a photo of the hole, he knew exactly what I needed. They did not have it in stock but he ordered it and had it shipped directly to me and it only took four days. I probably could have saved a couple of dollars buying it somewhere else but most likely that savings would have cost more traveling there because of the outrageous gas prices we all have to suffer with these days. I let Best Buy place the order because I was confident they knew what they were talking about and it would be the right cable. Sure enough, the cable they ordered worked just fine. I can now print from a laptop without needing to connect via WiFi. And if its on my phone? Well then I just email what I want to print to myself and pull it up on my laptop for printing. 100% satisfied! read more

My gaming pc quit on me a few days ago and I took it over to Best Buy off of Nicholasville road where I met tristen and Seph at geek squad . They were absolutely amazing, very knowledgeable and professional. they told me exactly what I needed and why. they went above and beyond to help me. they even cleaned it and updated all of my software(even the stuff I didn't know existed). I just had the worst shopping experience that I can remember. I was told to go to customer service to have a price match done. The clerk wouldn't do it and told me to go to a regular register, where there were 8 people waiting with no check out person in sight. So, instead of checking me out at customer service, he insisted that I go wait indefinitely for what? Although there are some good people working here,, this is typical of this best buy location. This is a great store to come in and get all your gadgets. The people that work there are so very helpful. But sometimes it feels like they are just watching you all the time. Or maybe it's just me. Now I usually go to check out all the gadgets. You would think I knew all of them and would know what they have. But I like to read and just check them out. I'm the type of person who would check items out in the store three times before buying them. It's more of being well informed and to make sure it is able to be used with my current setup. Open box is a scam to sell damaged appliances, refuse to fix them and slow-walk your refund! I am the father of a 14-month-old. Our dryer's motor suddenly broke and I ended up looking at this Best Buy. I was misled by a sales associate into consenting to buy a Samsung steam dryer for $602 plus delivery, tax and accessories ("we won't install it unless you pay $30 each for a plug and vent hose" plus steam hookup kit), a total of $771. Of course she tried to further upsell me a protection plan, but misled me into believing that Best Buy doesn't screw you if an open-box appliance arrives damaged, so I didn't pay for that. They said it would be delivered Saturday. At 11:05 AM Saturday, a technician named Adrian drives up, hooks it up using my existing vent hose and without the steam kit, turns it on, and informs me that the drum is damaged (making it very loud, at minimum). I ask detailed questions about what Best Buy is going to do about it and he gave me the false information that they have to replace it without charging me more, even though it was open box, and that they'll be calling me within 5-10 minutes of him driving off. He leaves me with the mandatory vent hose unopened but drives off with the steam kit still on the truck. After 20 minutes with no call I get on the phone and am told that, despite having a receipt for the delivery, THEY show the order as still in transit and won't help me for 24 hours. Early Sunday afternoon, I'm on the phone again and the automated system directs me to a corporate office for appliances rather than the local store. They start arranging a replacement, but when they see "open box" in the order, they tell me the policy is for the local store to deal with that and they'll call me in 2-3 hours. That was ALSO false. So I drive up to the store where I bought it with the unopened vent box in hand and try to explain all this. A manager named William tells me they don't make open-box appliances right if they arrive damaged, he can only replace it by charging me hundreds of dollars more for the difference between open box and full price or return it fora refund. I ask why the delivery technician gives false information about Best Buy. He said they're not responsible for anything the delivery people do, because they're a third party. I tell him I have a right to a full refund, so I have $771 in the bank to buy a dryer from Lowes or Home Depot. He says he'll only refund the delivery fee at the store: the third party will pick it up on Wed. 2-27 and process the rest of my refund then. Of course he just told me Best Buy won't take responsibility for anything the third party delivery does! I tell him I can't trust not to get cheated again by them and he says "I don't have to do anything. I could accuse you of damaging the dryer yourself and then you just keep it." (with no money back to make it right) I try to communicate what a bad policy that is and he starts saying "I don't know why you're being rude to me." At this point, I don't know how long after 2-27 it will take to get the full $771 back in my checking account so I can buy from Lowes or Home Depot! As far as I know, William, the store manager, and corporate HQ all think it's fine to sell damaged appliances and hold the customer's money for weeks while he has to drive to coin laundries with a 14-month old to keep her in clean, dry clothes! read more

I had a new refrigerator delivered today. Even though I paid for them to take away the old one, the guys refused. They gave me the impression they didn't want to be bothered. They said it would have to be taken apart, and they weren't allowed to do that. I told them when Pieratts delivered it a few years ago, they brought it in without any issues. Guy said I was wrong! So now, I'm a 70 year old sitting here with a refrigerator sitting in the middle of my kitchen floor. read more

PHYSICAL THREATS FROM INSTALLER!! They breakdown and put you to the back of the list. Was scheduled to have delivered in 3 days. Driver calls and said he broke down. He, Zachary, gets mad because I am trying to understand what I'm supposed to do and who I'm supposed to call. Zachary then says, we'll see when I get there! I said what do you mean? Zack said, you have an attitude we'll see when I get there. I asked are you threatening me? Zacks response was, we'll see when I get there. When I called about they were nice but now I have to wait 10 more days for my washer and dryer. Do not order anything from this store! Check items before you leave the store carefully. Open the boxes and get out a flashlight or if you leave and realize it's used they will accuse you of switching the product and try and refuse return or exchange. Another person was missing a piece from something they bought as well while trying to sort things out so might be a common issue. Service was not as well as I would have liked. read more

We purchased a tv for pickup from this store and we arrived home and the tv was old and used not even the tv that was shown in the purchase details and no it was not open box we bought it " brand new " not even 30 mins later we went to return it and the return was denied with the employees even blaming us for putting the old tv in there and trying to return it asked to speak to a manger and the employee said he could get another coworker but he would just say the same thing waisted our time and gas very unreliable store and unprofessional staff please stay away from this Best Buy take your money somewhere else I guess I have to start recording each time I buy a new product from Best Buy or just opening it infront of them. read more

Edit: they never gave us our installation kit and we had to drive 2 hours back just to get it!!!! If I could rate this a zero I would. Came to pick up our dish washer we had ordered and the lady came out and was so rude. I asked her to wrap it so it didn't get wet while in the bed of the truck. She went in and "wrapped" it and came back out and literally put one small wrapping around it. Almost half of the box completely open to getting wet still. And then they put it on the truck, they didn't shut the bed door. They could've at least told us they didn't, and we almost drove off and could've ruined the whole package. I do love a Best Buy. Their staff are truly helpful and knowledgeable. The Best Buy website is awesome also. It lets you know if the items you seek are at any given store at any given time. The store lay out is self explanatory. If you are lost or need help, just grab a staff member and they will help you find what you need. They sale anything electronic and tech. They also have a group called the blue shirts aka geek squad that will fix your computer or come to your house and set up your surround sound and theater. Stop in these geeks are great. I do prefer the Best Buy in Hamburg only because I hate going near the mall unless i need a watch battery. LOL GEEK POWER read more

I came in to buy a laptop last night. At first the employees seemed very helpful. The employee I talked to said they didn't have the laptop I was looking at in stock, but could deliver it by tomorrow at my house so I wouldn't have to come back in store. That sounded great as I needed it for work by then so I agreed, paid in store, and left. This morning I woke up to a delayed email saying my package was delayed and may not be delivered until November 29. It is October 30th. So that was unacceptable. The email stated I could cancel my order by going in store so I got up early and left before work to go to Best Buy. I'm then told they have not one, but six, of the laptops I was told the night before they didn't have in stock and I could cancel my order and exchange it for one in store. So I go to customer service where they realize they can't cancel the order and I have to call the 888 number to cancel. I do so just to be told that they can't cancel it either or switch it to in store pick me up. They tell me by only option is to wait until it is delivered even though at this point I no longer want it because it won't be here in time for my work needs. I spent over an hour in the store and 40 minutes on the phone with two different "customer service" reps just to be told I have to wait for a laptop that should have been sold to me in person when I purchased it last night. I understand there were many small mistakes that I wouldn't be upset about if there had been some sort of resolution besides "nothing we can do." I asked to speak to the highest manager/supervisor and was told we're busy they're not available. I told her I had no issue being put on hold until someone was available and she just kept repeating there's no resolution you have to wait until it's delivered. You can call back later. So later this evening I'll be calling back for the third time but I do not have high hopes of any helpful resolution. read more

If you need electronics or computer help, just go somewhere else. 20 years ago or so, they were a pretty good place to buy computer equipment and games and movies and appliances, but somewhere along the way they faded out, and badly. Let me tell you two stories of my time there to explain what it's like being a customer there now. Several years ago, I got a cheap DVD player as a Christmas present. I wanted to hook it up to an old TV I had. The DVD player only had RCA out jacks, so I had to get some simple RCA audiovisual cables. I went to Best Buy. Apparently they sell "Home Theater" now, and I know simple RCA cables are cheap, they used to bundle them with VCR's and game consoles, but I hadn't seen them in several years. Well, the only cables I could find were the expensive $100 "Monster" cables. I wasn't going to spend $100 on cables to hook into a $25 DVD player and a 10 year old TV! A blueshirt asks if he can help me, I ask for cables that don't cost less than the thing I'm plugging them into. He immediately launched into a sales pitch for those Monster cables, talking about their superior quality and how he couldn't condone selling "inferior" cables. I reminded him they were going into a cheap DVD player to be patched into an old CRT-style TV, so save the sales pitch. He said he'd go into the back and see if he could find any "inferior" cables. He walked off, when he didn't return after a few minutes, I went to Radio Shack and bought the cables I was looking for, for $8. Then, a couple of years later, my laptop had a broken screen. I thought I'd take it to Geek Squad for repairs. Well, as I later learned, replacing a laptop screen is maybe a $70 to $100 job at most computer techs. Geek Squad wanted $300, and noted that they'd have to send the computer off to some place else and warned me that they would reformat the hard drive in the process. I asked why, they said it was standard practice to wipe the drive on any computer they work on, and that they don't do any hardware work in-store and ship all that out, they only do software-related work in-house. I declined to have them wipe my hard drive so they could replace my screen for three times the going rate. I haven't been back to Best Buy since. read more

While I don't frequent the store for electronics, I have to say the Geek Squad has been a Godsend when resolving computer issues for me, and at no charge. I had a ten year old Dell laptop that often seemed to bewilder me by its behavior, however, in every case, the Squad came through. I finally had to retire it last year, and my daughter purchased a new one there for me so, fortunately, I've not recently had need of them. Bought Apple AirPods there for my wife for her birthday and they stopped working after 30 days. They wouldn't exchange them or help get them fixed. Also, the sales guy lied to me about the newest gen being more expensive. The option with the special charger is $50 more but the wire charger is the same price. He only mentioned the more expensive version. I totally would have bought the newest version if I had known. A good company would own a broken product and replace it immediately and deal with the warranty themselves instead of refusing help after 14 days. What a joke. More than a week and they cannot figure out how to install Outlook -- one of the world's leading email apps, Microsoft Outlook -- correctly! Don't spend your money here, especially not on any of their protection plans. They'll tell you anything to get you to buy in, but when you actually break your phone, they'll give you the run around about why they can't actually follow through with what you were told.
