I called for same day service for a dishwasher without power and a freezer on the bottom of our refrigerator unit not keeping temp. The wait was expected, the amount of time spent to fix neither was beyond comprehension. After an hour, he told me my dishwasher doesn't get power. I called for this reason... after insuring him it wasn't our fuse boxes, we have multiple and inspected 3 times a year bc of our pool system, he says maybe it's the outlet and you need and electrician?! No sir, I need someone to take the door off my dishwasher and change a fuse and check the wires. Bad start. He did check the fuses and boxes. He did nothing to pull our dishwasher out or take it apart. Hour later, after dissecting on the front side of our freezer with the door open for the same hour he says we bought a used refrigerator. I inform him we bought it new from Pieratt's and have the paperwork. Not interested. Then told me our refrigerator on top would die in a day or 2, just not true. I was informed a lot about how cell phones are tracking us and I should be nervous, great advice bub. Fix our stuff. If my wife hadn't gotten home 2 hours and 15 mins after he'd been here while our rescue dogs were waiting out back the entire time, I'm not sure how it would have worked, except definitely overcharged. He told me he would only charge us full on one appliance and 50% on the other after the initial $130 service charge. His solution for our freezer, it would only take them 3 hours and $2000 to fix our freezer bc we bought a 'used' one from Pieratt's with the paperwork and details he never took to concern. He was able to fix the repair on the spot. Also, they only charge a diagnostic fee if you don't decide to move forward with the repair. This is long, so here is the summary: Mr. Appliance represented that they worked on and had the knowledge to inspect and repair a very expensive coffee system. They then sent a service person to my house that had almost 0 experience on the machine, had to call the company's tech support and rather than try to fix it quoted me $1,700 for repairs, and charged me $130 for a service call. The details are below: I contacted Mr. Appliance a couple of weeks ago about repair of a Miele Coffee System. It is a specialized product, and I specifically asked if they worked on this machine (the Ferguson dealer in Lexington Ky told me this is who they would recommend for repair). I was assured that they did and an appointment was set for the next day. The technician arrived, took a cursory look at the machine and almost immediately called Miele. After a brief conversation, which apparently was primarily to get parts info, he informed me that the machine needed new parts to the tune of $1,700 including labor (based on what he said labor would account for 1/2 that amount). I was also told that if I had the machine repaired, I would not have to pay the $130 service call. I don't believe the review of the machine was thorough and he did not go into the programming options on the machine. Having been through all of the fixes I could find in the manual and online (minimal) I had tried to contact Miele, and got a call center in the Philippines that was completely clueless as to the operation of the machine. Miele no longer speaks with consumers I found out, and the Miele tech that my repair person spoke with specifically instructed him NOT to give me the phone number for Miele technical support. I declined the repairs and after the Mr. Appliance repair person left, I decided to try to clean the machine one more time. When I tried to remove the brew unit, it was jammed in the machine - it was not prior to the service person working on the machine. I called Mr. Appliance, reported this and asked them to come back to restore the machine to it's condition before they touched it. The repair person did come back, again called Miele, this time went into the programming of the machine, and did put it back to the original condition. I was also told by the repair person that he maybe sees one or two of these machines a year and had no training from a local or regional distributor rep and no distributor location visit for training. By what I was told about his attempt to fix the machine it became clear that they simply call the manufacturer and recommend replacing parts (which I imagine technical support will have to walk them through) without any real attempt to fix the machine - because they have no idea how to do that. Frankly the cute booties and the doormat don't make up for lack of ability to repair a product or failure to admit you don't know how to repair one. They came out to fix the water dispenser 2 months ago. I had another issue with the same water dispenser and so I called them back. Came out and said it was a separate part and it would be $400. I declined to have the part replaced and I asked why I was charged for another service visit even though it was the same issue. They wouldn't refund the visit fee. I called them out to fix an ice maker in my fridge/freezer. Technician did some testing then told us our Ice maker was bad and needed to be replaced at $399.00. We finally said ok to replace after talking it over. Then less than 10 minutes later he said I need to speak with you again. Your Ice maker is fine I tested the wrong part. I thought I was testing the icemaker sensor but it was the defrosting sensor. So the new price was $ 509.00. We paid the diagnostic fee of 137.80 but decided we really didn't have faith in his diagnoses any longer.. My new fridge comes in a few days! We got a text with the workers photo and name the van was clearly labeled I really felt at ease knowing this information ahead of time. We had a refrigerator issue that had parts that needed ordering so two trips to fix our particular issue. They grantee the parts for a year. I'm so glad we went with Mr Appliance. I had had an issue with my washer for a long time. I finally got fed up with it and call Mr. Appliance on Monday and they had Taurean at my home within 3 hours. The tech reached out to let me know he was on his way. Showed up on time, introduced himself and left a door mat at the front door for dirty shoes! The reason I gave 2 stars was based solely on price to repair. They quoted approximately $550 to repair a dishwasher I paid $350 for two years ago. They diagnosed it with a bad pump that after a little research I found could be purchased from Amazon for $65. When I inquired why the marked was so high I was told basically overhead of trucks and taxes along with their pump coming straight from the factory. Needless to say Amazon got my business and I'll be installing myself to save several hundred dollars. read more

These folks will charge an arm and a leg for parts!! I had them out for a dishwasher repair and they quoted me a certain priceAfter doing diagnostics. When they came to do the actual repair after receiving the part they told me they didn't have and additional parts And needed to order those too. After parts and labor the price of the repair cost more than the dishwasher. Additionally they upsell parts cost. If you are going to use these guys consider using them to diagnose and then purchasing your own parts and then letting them fix it. I bought a used dryer that needed repaired in order to work properly. For $100, it was diagnosed that the timer needed to be replaced. They ended up charging me nearly $500 to replace the timer. I should have just said "no" but having just moved with four small children, I desperately needed this dryer working. Now, the dryer turns on but never stops until opened. A very nice technician, Alex, worked on it and explained the problem and advised that he would need to order a part. Came out again to install the part and discovered an additional problem which required another part. Came back out a third time to install the 2nd part to discover more problems which would cost more to fix than to replace the unit, which I did. Online I found this company and they boasted on their website that they're an upfront company. So I booked a consult, AFTER which I found out that they charge $89 just to look at it. I find that to be very sneaky to not list the price of the consult upfront. This already makes me want to refuse their service. A warranty repair was done last year with excellent result but a service call today to look at a mis-functioning water filter device on our refrigerator was disappointing. The repair was quoted at almost $500; too much for such a non critical part of the refrigerator. I would recommend getting a range on the repair cost before having a technician come for an onsite evaluation (about $100 for the visit(). Very poor customer service. I scheduled an appointment for two dishwasher repairs several weeks in advance. Took a day off work and waited for the appointment time sometime between 8 AM and noon. The appliance repairman called me at noon to tell me that he didn't have the part to repair my dishwasher. In trying to rectify the situation, no apologies. My stove broke & they came to fix it but had to order a part. I told them I am allergic to most foods and out of the few foods I can eat, they all had to be cooked using the stove. They were very accommodating and were able to get the stove fixed fast once the part came in. They are considerate to call ahead of time and say if they are running a little late. One visit from your technician Tyler has already proven that your company is nothing but dishonest and greedy, leaving your customer completely helpless and trapped with your corrupt way of making money. I am personally calling BBB to make a complain about the service call I made on 8/9/19 about the dryer not heating. Tyler checked and informed me that the heating element needs to be replaced. Of course he did not show how it was bad by testing it, and according to him it was not the fuse or any loose wiring that may have caused the problem. Then Tyler said "I happen to have the heating element in the vehicle. The last one." With the charge of $400.94, I declined as per my husband and a friend's advice due to the fact that a newer dryer costs about the same so why even bother to replace a part with an unreasonably high price. An electrician friend came today to connect the wiring that was unattached to the thermal fuse and the heat started working on the dryer. He tested the heating element which is completely fine and functioning well. We only need to clean and make sure the airflow is not obstructed to avoid this problem (which I firmly believe Tyler and your other technicians are aware of). However for the company to make the money, you have to be a big liar, dishonest and crooked to do that. How can Tyler sleep at night with that conscience and heart telling him "he did not do the right thing for the customer who supposedly 'trusted' him?" Tyler deliberately did not do what was right to connect the unattached wiring to the fuse at the time of service, did not give advice about cleaning the duct, and just wanted to do the bigger job to make money for the company. I am completely appalled by this as he was totally negligent and irresponsible. You need to refund the amount of $94.34 as I did not get the right "diagnostic service call" I needed. read more
