The second most expensive was the Mizunara whiskey from Boundary Oak, a $250 bottle. It's made with staves from a rare Japanese tree, that has to be at least 200 years old before it can be used. It truly imparts a one-of-a-kind flavor. This was included in the premium package, which lets you try some terrific and 'fancy' stuff for $30. You also get an etched glass to take home. Gerry was a great tasting guide! He was very knowledgeable about the products, and how they may be best enjoyed, including a whiskey that needed to sit for a bit to open up. I also want to give some extra credit, as when I asked about their "Sinful 69" bottle, he poured a little sample for me, and called over the other folks who were doing the tasting to try it also. Alas, I did not have an opportunity this time around to see the inner workings of distillation, but as I understand it, this is more an explanation that tour through the production area. With this, Boundary Oak Distillery was a great, memorable stop on my birthday trip to Kentucky.

There used to be a 10% discount when you bought liquor by the case but they ended that. Not to mention a major peave... When Black Velvet sales with a discount tag, say of $1.00 off a bottle, you can only buy one bottle and get that discount, according to the large young man with the red beard on Oct 2 2022. I will do business elsewhere since they are no longer supporting us Vets or family members. Thanks for the kick in the ass!
