Visited here today and was so very pleased! Hubby & I really enjoyed the professionalism of the girl working, September! She was adorable, articulate, personable though she spoke a bit fast & soft. I am not a big fan of whiskey/ bourbon I really enjoyed most of what I tasted. We decided upon several different bottles and even bought one for an "adopted brother", 'brother from another mother". The video they show led was very informative, helped to learn a lot of the history in America. I was really touch by the collection of police badges! The most expensive whiskey I ever tasted was the Dalmore King Alexander III. A roughly $300 bottle, and a shot that cost at least $40. I was celebrating a promotion, don't judge! The second most expensive was the Mizunara whiskey from Boundary Oak, a $250 bottle. It's made with staves from a rare Japanese tree, that has to be at least 200 years old before it can be used. It truly imparts a one-of-a-kind flavor. This was included in the premium package, which lets you try some terrific and 'fancy' stuff for $30. You also get an etched glass to take home. Gerry was a great tasting guide! He was very knowledgeable about the products, and how they may be best enjoyed, including a whiskey that needed to sit for a bit to open up. I also want to give some extra credit, as when I asked about their "Sinful 69" bottle, he poured a little sample for me, and called over the other folks who were doing the tasting to try it also. Alas, I did not have an opportunity this time around to see the inner workings of distillation, but as I understand it, this is more an explanation that tour through the production area. With this, Boundary Oak Distillery was a great, memorable stop on my birthday trip to Kentucky. read more

We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and it was not crowded so we're were able to do a tasting . They Offer 2 different flights ..Flagship and Platinum. We did both so we could experience most of their products. The Platinum flight is definitely worth the extra cost. They have a nice gift shop where you can purchase their bourbons,whiskey,vodka,wine and moonshine. They even have a Lavender Whiskey that my wife loved. Price vary based on the age and true of bourbons. A neat distillery with an interesting history, definitely a place to try when in the Elizabethtown area. read more

Visiting here I was a good boy and kept my wallet in my pocket. I regret that decision. But wait, there is hope! Near a favorite detour around Louisville bound construction delays, I may stop by again. I enjoy bourbon and they have some great stuff. It is a tasting room and store. I can see myself deliberately taking this detour just to stop by. Staff did tell me that I could obtain their product locally to Middle TN. Every offering of liquor they have has a great story and I loved chatting with the man who served my flight of tasters. Of particular interest, ask about the boundary oak bottle #1 of the Abe Lincoln. Their showroom was wonderful and I will be able to satisfy my adult son's wish-list for wonderful bourbon and particularly on the rocks glasses. I am a fan. read more

I learned about this Distillery from The Bourbon Trail passport book. I haven't visited many of them but, I may make that a New Years Resolution lol. This Distillery is located between Radcliff and Elizabethtown Kentucky off the Joe Prather Highway. There is private parking parking in the front and back. The inside is warm and welcoming. Since I been here twice already I didn't have to watch the educational video again like I did the first time about bourbon and how it came about. It was a very informing video I will say. They also do tastings every 15 minutes with different groups. I was by myself and got some one on one education about the Bourbons. I love that they are very military friendly being close to Fort Knox. My guide did the tastings a certain way so basically the strongest bourbon was saved for last. I will let anyone reading this review find out for themselves about how educational they are. I will say my favorite one is the St. Luke (lavender scent/flavor). It's like drinking aroma therapy lol. This is definitely worth a visit. I even remembered to get my book stamped. read more

Weird parking situation. You have to park out back where I thought employees would be parking. There is no other place to park and not exactly an intuitive or easy path to get to the front doors. A weird complaint but it was kind of strange. Once inside, walked around in a few different parts before anyone came to greet me or acknowledge my arrival. No bar for drinks only paid tastings. They have a tribute bottle to 82nd Division based out of North Carolina but not a bottle for the 101st Division based on Kentucky... strange and a little disrespectful. Overall a nice interior, but wasn't impressed. Maybe it was just my experience, but I can't in good faith recommend this place. read more

We ran across this distillery by chance and were glad we did! The staff was so welcoming and passionate about their products. We really enjoyed the tasting - including learning the right way to drink moonshine! They had a great variety of products-whiskey, moonshine, and wine - and a fun range of whiskeys including cinnamon and lavender (which sounded terrible but were delicious!). July 14,2020 - Our first day on the Bourbon Trail was Boundary Oak Distillery. It was a beautiful day and a delight. Tours are free. I love that they gave you a bottle of free hand sanitizer they made there! Love! The tour guides, Preston & Tonya, were very friendly and the movie was my favorite part of the tour. They give a military discount on Non Alcohol Products. The tasting was $8 but they let you sample everything they made in the distillery. Active duty military - free. 7 drinks for $8. This is a good deal. I sampled everything neat. The BAD Dapper Gin: ugh! The worst... I hated the gin and took only one sip. I hate wasting alcohol but I threw the rest away. It tasted like medicine- metallic and bitter. The SO-SO: BLACKHORSE 1901: So-So - Artwork on bottle impressive! So so - easily forgettable. It tasted ok. The artwork on the bottle made more of an impression. This 8-year, 80-proof, American Whiskey pays tribute to the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment known as Blackhorse. The Blackhorse Association was founded in 1969 and incorporated a year later. Troopers of this regiment have bravely dedicated their lives to protecting America's freedom and have served unswervingly in the Philippines, Cuba, Mexico, WWII, Vietnam, Border Legion, Iraq and NTC. Patton Armored Diesel: Strong Stuff - I loved the story about this bottle of whiskey! No bueno yet better than Dapper Gin. I drank all of it. It hits you hard. The story about it is better than the bourbon whiskey. One of the first armored officers of the United States Army, General G.S.Patton, Jr. is believed by many to be the father of modern armored warfare. He expressed his admiration for the armored division through acts meant to instill camaraderie and pride within the troops he commanded. It was too strong & intense for me though. The story: Boundary Oak Distillery introduces its newest straight bourbon. This uncut bourbon is connected to the legendary, historic Abraham Lincoln - 16th President of the United States - who is well-known to Central Kentucky and well-respected by the nation and the world! This straight bourbon has been aging to its maturity in charred white oak barrels and is ready to be enjoyed responsibly. The BEST Cinnful 69: My favorite and only $20. It was spicy yet sweet. I bought it and had dreams of drinking it neat on a cold winter day. A cinnamon whiskey that tasted like candy and was very easy to sip. I loved this drink more than the overpowering fireball. I imagined putting this in a hot apple cider or tea in winter. My Old Kentucky Home Bourbon Whiskey: Very smooth and easy to drink. St Luke: Sweet, pretty, and makes a nice Moscow Mule. A lavender bourbon drink: Beautiful bottle. Very sweet and feminine. It was inspired by 15th century European tradition in which young girls would drink a lavender tea and pray to St. Luke in hopes of receiving a dream revealing the identity of their true love. That legend is described on the bottle's rear label. It's made from real lavender - a lavender tea that's then blended with bourbon and allowed to mingle for a few days in a traditional white oak barrel to create the 60 proof product. After it's bottled, the lids and neck of the bottle will be sealed by dipping it in a lavender-colored wax. read more

The staff and arrangements they have made for guests here were very accommodating and pleasurable experience. Cool theater to view the history, cool gift shop and neat Lincoln historic tree in their lobby. Tastings were pretty cool. Management Question: When we visited the business on July 14, 2020, we observed you had three flag poles out front with no flags flying. What gives? Real small for a distillery, but I liked the place. The tour was much better than the Jim Beam one. The thing that the Beam distillery has is that it has a name, a huge size, and it is very well decorated. But their tour is very expensive and boring. The Boundary Oak tour was much better. Their tasting tour was much cheaper, longer and better. I learned a lot more about bourbon and Boundary history. The have the most beautiful bottles ever. Very well thought out. AND they support the military with their unit associated bottles. They have a movie playing, which Beam distillery does not and they have nice swag to buy. I would not mind going again. read more

Had never heard of Boundary Oak but it's on the Bourbon trail so we went. There isn't a tour available. Just a tasting. You can see the process through glass a little bit. The lady who normally did the tastings wasn't available, so there was another guy helping out. He was very nice, but not as knowledgeable. And the whiskey was meh. We did buy a bottle of wine from them. If you're not worried about hitting every Distillery on the Bourbon Trail, I'd skip this one. read more

Went here and did a tasting and then bought a bottle. I was checking out the prices and was really flabbergasted by the prices. I'm not sure what they're doing in this small town distillery to produce $100 bottles of whiskey, but the quality isn't there. It's good whiskey, but the $100 bottles aren't worth that. I did love that they partnered with the local military units to honor their history. But, then it looks like their overcharging which makes me feel like it's all a capitalistic gimmick to them. (This coming from a vet) Good whiskey, cool little place, but nothing to write home about. If you're passing through check them out, but do the tasting before you purchase anything to make sure it's up to your standards for what you're going to pay. read more

We are driving through the state on our way home from New England and decided to stop by after seeing a sign on the main highway. I am SOOO glad we did! I used to drink bourbon and whiskey straight and it was my go to, but those days have passed and my palate has shifted to more delicate varieties. I did the tasting and really enjoyed the energy of the guy facilitating it. Lots of fun even though his routine was pretty clear and straightforward. The only thing I wish is that they would have done tastings of all their options. I was really curious, as takes something unusual or special for me to bring a bourbon home these days. That said, I really loved the smooth, full flavored punch and warmth of the Lincoln, but by far my favorites (and take-homes this round) were the specialty flavored items... so unexpected for a distillery. I already know that the St. Luke Lavender whiskey is going to be a staple in my life from now on (not surprising at all to hear it was created by the wife of one of the big wigs). I will absolutely order and pay for this to be shipped back to TX regularly. It's in a lovely gift-able bottle and would be ideal for any female drinker who likes lavender flavor or herbal profiles in their booze (aka gin babes like me). I also grabbed the cinnamon flavored spirit to add to my holiday cocktails and concoctions.. I really appreciated that they use real cinnamon instead of flavoring- you can definitely tell and it was the selling point for me (I never buy flavored mixers). I am so looking forward to seeing experimenting with both of these gems over the holidays in my teas and other drinks. My friend and I went to Whiskey Wednesday night, they have an outside patio, a couple of conrhole boards and giant Jenga (even a regular one). That night they had an artist from Nashville come sing and a couple of food trucks. I didn't try the food truck (no tacos truck at the time). It a beautiful patio set up and they even string some lights out. Be a perfect date night or just hanging with friends. Their drinks speciality are delicious and unique! They are still setting up and getting organized so there is a bar area but not an actual bar, but still a neat setup and friendly staff. The other guest were great and friendly. If you are looking to network or meet new people this would be a great place to go too. read more

Our family visited Boundary Oak today. I had tasted some of their products, like the Cinnful 69 Bourbon. As soon as we entered their beautiful facility, Linda greeted us and invited us to watch their movie on whiskey history. The short movie is very informative on the historical significance of whiskey and, specifically, bourbon whiskey. Afterward, we were treated to a facilities tour and discussion of their products. There is a very reasonable tasting fee whereupon Linda served us a significant number or their product line. I was particularly impressed with the Lincoln Bourbon, but all the products are excellent and unique. I highly recommend taking the time to tour Boundary Oak. I purchased a "six pack" selection of their products and found Linda's presentation and hospitality quite enjoyable. I highly recommend Boundary Oak and will return as often as I can. read more

We thoroughly enjoyed our tasting here. We're no bourbon connoisseurs (in fact my wife had never even had any type of bourbon previously) so we appreciated how Dustin educated us during the tasting. The bourbons tasted good and we left with a couple of bottles. To top it off we visited mainly because of one review stating that Boundary Oak is kid friendly. We stopped at Boundary Oak on the first day of our tour of the Bourbon Trail. It was the only one we came back to. When you first walk in, it doesn't look that impressive, but our host treated us to an excellent tasting. Their Old Kentucky Home became the gold standard for our Bourbon tasting and was the reason we went back on the last day. When we returned on the last day, we had the opportunity to speak with the Master Distiller, who hand-numbered and signed our bottles. All-in-all, an unexpected find. I look forward to going back.
