I should have read the reviews before going to the store in Madison, MS. Two weeks ago, I purchased a new computer (with a My Best Buy Total Yearly Membership) and have had nonstop issues. I was told by the tech on the phone that I should take it to a store for assistance. This morning, I took the computer in the store and the Geek told me I had to fix it using my Outlook account. I explained that I don't have an Outlook account, and he said I must have one to set up the computer. I do not have an Outlook account. I was expecting to leave the computer and return later, but he refused to look at the computer. I called tech support again, and he referred me to a store in Flowood. I drove to the store in Flowood and within 15 minutes the Geek had my computer repaired without an Outlook account. WOW, what a difference!! Yesterday I needed a micro SD card so I ran to Best Buy's Madison to purchase it. Could not find them in store as employees were all too busy talking with one another. Finely found them and when I went to pay for it the price magically went up $10. When I complained the lady checking me out looked at me and her barked the response "Do you want it or not?" The guy sitting next to her explained that things get moved around but as there were four on the same peg I told him this was more of a bait and switch thing. Customer service here is pretty sucky and as a secondary note this is the second time I have been in here and experienced the same thing. I guess this is why I love Amazon so much. They help me to not buy a fire cube that would not do what I needed. That is just the kind of help I wanted.

I found what I needed when someone finally helped me as I walked around the store for at least 5 minutes looking for someone. They need to hire more workers. Now Best Buy has gone to a ridiculous measure where you have to buy the plastic bag you place your item inside. I just carried my stuff out of the door and the worker said to make sure I had to receipt with me where I do not look like I am shoplifting. The worker was helpful and very nice. But, Best Buy corporation needs to do some management and policies different. read more

I like best buy. They have lots of tech toys I want. Some areas of the store are very sad with how empty they are. The staff is really nice and very helpful. The store is clean and well organized. read more

I honestly don't know what the other reviewers are talking about in regards to service. Every time I've gone in the door at this BestBuy I've been greeted by 1-3 employees. I also know that you can ask anyone of them to help you for what you are looking for instead of wandering around. The manager is usually readily available and all the staff appears to be super nice. They will talk to you about all sorts of setups, know the answer to most issues I've had, as well as know what new products are coming out. All seem to be very knowledgeable and own a lot of the equipment themselves. Not saying everything there is the best price but for questions and service from an electronics store I haven't found better. The manager even called me when a product I had been waiting on became available! Service can't get much better than that. PS. This is only the Madison, MS store I am referring to. I've personally had bad experiences with the Jackson store while it was still around and Flowood store is not nearly as organized. read more

Thieves! I live in Chicago IL and just received a notification that someone in this store used my Best Buy card to make a fraudulent in store purchase, clearly without proper identification, for $2,800!! When I called and spoke to an employee, I was told that there's nothing they can do! This is terrible customer service! How do you allow someone to make such a large transaction with stolen information and fake or no identification!! Do not buy from here! read more

The "computer expert" may have known about computers, but he could not effectively communicate and could not answer question well. He basically just spewed random computer facts that did not apply to our questions and spoke in disheveled sentences. One of the most aggravating experiences I have ever been through. Please be sure to understand the return policy at Best Buy. IT IS STRICTY 15 DAYS - PERIOD. We bought a $100 item for my son for his birthday. He opened it 13 days after purchase and it didn't work. Wanted to just exchange. Took it back on day 16 - "NO refunds or exchanges. Sorry, you have to call the manufacturer". Their policy is overly restrictive and punitive. Don't put your money at risk. I have looked and Walmart, Sams and Target are 90 days on returns. SHOP WALMART, SAMS AND TARGET - It's a safer move for you (likely cheaper too). read more
