I had the worst experience of my life to purchase an appliance, I bought a coocktop oven and a Refrigerator they made me to take day of the work in order to receive my appliance 6 times and they did not show up. I had to drive from St Peter to Mankato in order to talk to someone in store since you can not contact to store by phone, I got connected to someone sitting at home behind a laptop and did not have any clue about the problem, Every tome I went to store the managers promised to take care of it but nothing happened. I found Best Buy to be completely without customer service. It is now impossible to speak directly to the local store on the phone. Which I tried to do before I went to the store. I was routed to an overseas call center. I asked to speak to the local store to make sure I was getting the correct information and was told it was impossible. However twice I was told they would dispose of the old microwave after I had purchased one. Upon arriving at Best Buy a young man at the door said in a very condescending manner "no we don't do that" . I explained that I had tried to contact the store directly but that the call center had assured me that this was a service. Again "no we don't do that" at that point I muttered "shit this is customer service" The young man immediately accused me of cursing and swearing at him. I ask for the store manager he answered he was the shift manage. I had to ask 4 times before I got my answer. Of course I can't call him. Upon returning home I called the Best Buy customer service number to complain that I had received the wrong information, their answer was that it was not wrong "indeed it is on the website"Still not sure what Best Buy's policy really is but I know I don't like being treated in such a smug and condescending manner! I will NEVER shop here again. I bought a Samsung Galaxy Z 3 flip phone in January 2022. Suddenly the phone was doing all kinds of weird stuff and I could not use it. I called Best Buy and got an appointment for them to fix the phone. I drove over an hour to get there, then they say they don't fix Samsung phones. They send me to Asurion. Asurion says the warranty is up, even though I had only had it 8 months and it had a 1 year warranty. Best Buy even told me that it had a 1 year warranty when I bought it there. Come to find out, someone else had purchased the phone and had used it for 5 months and returned it to Best Buy, therefore the other persons use was calculated in MY warranty. This is BS, they did NOT tell me that it was a used phone and sold it to me as if it was a new phone. Being a $1000 phone, which I had the receipt for and the receipt was dated, yet they could not do anything for me. Horrible service. Apple sent me to Best Buy/Geek Squad to have them do DIAGNOSTICS on my iPhone 13 Mini. 1st rep didn't know what he was doing as he was still being trained but did find the iPhone 13 Mini in their system. 2nd rep, who was supposed to know what he was doing, argued that Apple doesn't make an iPhone 13 Mini. I know what my phone is!!! Instead of doing the DIAGNOSTICS, he decided to wipe the phone and reinstall the programs and my data from iCloud. That seemed reasonable to me since I had been having a problem with the Message app crashing for 2 1/2 weeks. Rep made sure phone was backed up but forgot to ask if I knew my Apple password or turn off 2 factor authentication for my Apple account. My Apple password was in a password manager on the phone that I could have easily written down if he had asked about it. But he wiped the phone and we couldn't get it set up again because my Apple password was no longer accessible. He also could have asked if I knew the Apple password during the 45 minutes I was waiting at the store, I could have driven home and gotten my iPad but no, he suddenly realized there was a problem after the fact. He tried to send me home with a totally non functional phone (it worked except the message app when I arrived) and I refused to leave. So then we proceeded to try to reset my Apple ID but I couldn't the the 2 factor authentication code since my iPhone was non functional. Then he took my sim card out and put it in a store phone and we still didn't get the text message with the 2 factor authentication code so he and the other rep complained about T-Mobile and AT&T locking sim cards. He tried to send me to AT&T but HE fouled up the service so I insisted HE call AT&T. But he didn't really tell AT&T what was going on, just that we moved the sim card from one phone to another so they didn't help him. And he kept telling AT&T that he was calling from an iPhone Pro Max when actually the store phone was just an iPhone Pro (2nd instance of him not knowing the Apple product line). Eventually I got so mad that I told him to put my sim card back in my phone, took all of my security codes he had written down and left with a totally non functional phone during a snowstorm. I drove directly to the AT&T store where they were able to do something with my phone so it would receive the 2 factor authentication code from Apple without it going through the text message app and the phone started coming to life again. The AT&T rep said the Geek Squad guy should have known how to do that. It remains to be seen whether the phone is actually fixed; I had been able to get it to work for a few days on my own but then the message app would start locking up and crashing again before yesterday's experience. And, I had another horrible experience with Geek Squad phone support years ago, they "helped" me with a slowing computer and rendered it unusable. It took me 10-14 hours to get that computer functional again. I will never use Geek Squad again &, in a few days I will call Apple and tell them how bad my experience with Best Buy/Geek Squad was because, evidently, Apple has a contract with them. read more

I went in this past weekend, to purchase some accessories for my new Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge phone. I was told by the Sales Associate that Best Buy has implemented a new policy, where they charge you $8 to install a screen protector on your phone...even though you bought the screen protector from them. I returned the screen protector and the OtterBox case and walked over to Verizon, where they installed the screen protector at no charge. My advice? Avoid Best Buy, when looking to upgrade your smartphone. Go directly to your carrier, instead. I was given the same information at both the Mankato and Shakopee Best Buy stores. It appears that Best Buy will nickel-and-dime their customers in any way they can. read more

Purchased a lap top from them few months ago and cheap plastic charger cord broke. Went to get a new cord for lap top and was told they don't carry that style. He said we should go to Menards for a universal charging cord!! ‍ We will no longer even bother with Best buy. Why don't they carry universal charging cords??? I wouldn't suggest this place for any appliances. They take no blame for appliances that don't show up. Keep blaming third party vendors and transport. It's a Samsung washer. I am on my second negative experience with this store so I'm done. I ordered and paid for a frig and was told that I would have to wait 8-9 weeks. Those two months went by and I was not contacted by Best Buy. So I called them and asked about my frig. They didn't have my frig any more as they said they let it go when I didn't come pick it up. I was not contacted in any way so I never knew it came in. They had typed in the email incorrectly so I never got the notice email. I was told their policy is to send out the email and then the customer has 7 days to pick up merchandise or they sell it off the floor. There was no customer service follow up or phone call. I had a $2000+ TV and sound system installed by Best Buy Mankato Geek Squad. The sound system quit working after 1 day. Guy that installed it did not return messages from my wife. He answered my call. He would not give me a day or time when he could come to fix our set up until I had to ask for Best Buy's procedures for service calls. Then he at least gave me a day and time when he could call to set up a service call. Full disclosure, I called on a Monday which he told me was his off day. Maybe don't answer your work phone on an off day. Anyway, it is turning out to be a really poor experience. Hopefully they can turn it around. read more

Went into this location to buy a camcorder for work. After locating the camcorder section, there were about 3 left on the shelf, but luckily one was the model I wanted. I then asked 2 employees to send someone over to help me with some questions. I watched 3 employees stand around chatting with their friends instead of helping customers. After 10 minutes I walked out. When I got to the front, I told the kid at the front that I was leaving, and why, and he said "ok I will let the manager know". Not "sorry"; not "what can I do to help". I will NEVER walk back in. No wonder these stores are going broke. read more

Run, do not walk away. They change over employees like socks. They are usually to involved in group conversations to approach customer. They will want to you to sign a wArranty for an extra cost, but the plan will not cover whatever is wrong with your device. Bought a lap top yesterday, I should have known better. I felt Rushed out the store to drive the 60 miles to my residence. Have spent 6 hours today just in phone calls to various countries and the best Best Buy can do is hve me restart my computer again. Went to purchase a car stereo for my wife's vehicle. Took 10 mins. to find anyone that was willing to break away from shooting the crap with other employees. When someone finally came to help us, my wife asked about a double din stereo. The employee stated that it would fit her vehicle, which I knew would not because I had measured. The employee then argued with me and basically stated that I didn't know anything and accused my wife of rolling her eyes toward him. He then stated that we were rude and began to chew us out. I asked to see the manager and the manager was even worse telling us that he did not need our business and stated "don't have a good day" as we were leaving. We went down the street and spent our money at a privately owned electronics store and we will never step into this best buy again!!! read more

I am so disgusted with Best Buy, you buy a protection plan for your phone so in case you break or loose your phone it can be replaced. My phone was damaged and it needed to be replaced so I called our local Mankato, MN store and was advised that we needed to call the Geek Squad 800 number, I call that number and the representative tells me that I need to go into the store, that they no longer deal with damaged/broken phones, she then tries to send me to Richfield, MN which is a 2 hour drive, not happy. After talking to her she finally sends me to my local store, but before I go into the store she needs to schedule an appointment for me. I go into the store and they advise me that it is going to be $200.00 dollars to replace my phone, again I was not happy with that. The replacement costs just keeps going up every year. You pay for a protection plan and then you still have to pay to get the phone replaced, and then you get a refurbished phone not a new phone. But it does not end there, now they tell that I have to wait 10 days to get my phone replaced. How can I be without my phone for 10 days. I need it for school and work. After this I will be taking my business elsewhere. Horrible customer service. read more
