Geek Squad Review I brought my iPhone 13 Pro Max to Geek Squad for a routine battery replacement. The phone was in excellent condition and functioning properly aside from the aging battery. I chose Geek Squad specifically because I expected a professional repair performed by trained technicians. Instead, I left with a phone that had a significant haze/glow across the rear-camera images that was not present before the repair. I was told the camera had been affected by alcohol from wipes used during the repair. Correcting the problem required me to make another hour-long trip to the store the following day and spend several more hours having the repair addressed. Thankfully, the camera was ultimately repaired on my second trip, and my phone is now functioning normally. My concern is less about the final outcome than about how the situation happened and the customer experience surrounding it. What concerns me most is the apparent backlog in this Geek Squad department. During both visits I experienced lengthy waits, including with an appointment. I also observed other customers being told of 2-3 hour repair windows, with only one technician apparently handling the repairs. I have since seen multiple reviews describing similar delays and the same staffing concern going back years. In my opinion, this appears to be more than an isolated busy day. When a department is consistently overloaded, customers wait excessively and technicians are working under pressure. That creates a poor customer experience and, potentially, increases the risk of mistakes during repairs. I chose Geek Squad because I expected trained technicians and professional workmanship. I hope Best Buy will look closely at the staffing and workload at this location and determine whether the department has the resources necessary to provide the level of service customers are paying for. read more

Unless you live in Sherman and have time to go the store you should not even consider shopping there. The company policy is that you cannot speak to a store employee on the phone. The store does not take phone calls. You start with a robot and, If you are lucky, get transferred to a call center in another country. They may be able to tell you what the store is supposed to have in stock, but then again they cannot guarantee that it will be there when you arrive. A lousy way to do business. read more

I find there is no available help to ask questions unless I seek someone out that usually entails walking back to the front of the store. My wife brought my computer over from Oklahoma to the Geek Squad to get them to fix my charging port on laptop. It was pushed in too far to make a connection. They are soo smart they said it could not be fixed because it was too old. They kept it over2 weeks before they told us that. Well I looked at it when we got home and looks like they didn't even take out the screws to look at it! Well I took out screws and opened it up and it was a 5 minute fix to put port back in it's place. They lied and didn't even try to fix it so they tried to sell me another one, that's BS! read more

Went into Sherman store to purchase a tablet. Waited for help for about 10 mins when I finally found a guy putting something in the next aisle. Walked over to him and he said he would get me someone to assist me. No one showed up after several minutes so i Found another guy several aisles away helping someone, so I waited for him to finish. When he finished another customer came up and asked for help. While assisting him, I was never acknowledged and when he finished, the employee walked away with the previous customer. Nothing said to acknowledge that I would be helped next. Waited another 5 minutes then decided to leave without a purchase. At the desk when you first walk into the store were 3 male employees standing around talking to each other. You need to find some employees that will actually help the customer. read more

Way back there was a electronic store called Circuit City and they went out of business. All the signs were there before any announcement. Low stock, apathetic service, no customers and then the announcement. Store closings This Best Buy's has the same feel. If Best Buy's isn't shutting down then they have stopped stocking the shelves at this location and the employees have stopped caring. Don't waste your time. Although they're one of the highest priced electronic & entertainment retailers in the area (or anywhere, for that matter), I normally gave them the benefit of the doubt. However, if you haven't laminated your receipt, put an insurance policy on it and kept it in a safety deposit box, don't bother trying to return anything... even if was a gift and you didn't receive a receipt from the giver. This is the only retailer I've encountered who has such an idiotic return/exchange policy. I will never shop here again... for anything. read more

Went into Best Buy, Sherman, to purchase a TV advertised for $247.00 +/-. The brand advertised was Toshiba. I asked the sales clerk if Toshiba is a good brand. His response: it's a good brand. So I bought it, and schedueled it for pickup at a later time. When I arrived home, I glanced at the sales receipt and noticed that it read INSIGNIA. So I looked up Insignia and learned it is a Best Buy Brand, made by Japanese company Sharp. Toshiba is made by Hisense. I returned to the store and asked both the original sales agent and the manager why the substitution was made. The sales agent spoke up and said that they were essentially the same TV. Insignia brand is actually rated 11 out of 12 worst TVs made. Only RCA is rated lower. Toshiba is rated closer to the top. The manager told me Toshiba is not a good TV. So based on the independent on-line review, I can assume that Insignia is worse! I cancelled my order and went to Walmart to buy a Samsung for $10.00 more than the Insignia, and their warranty is $10.00 more but covers for 4 instead of 2 years. I very rarely buy from Best Buy, and now I'll be a ghost in that store. read more

I ordered a Galaxy Watch and it was supposed to be delived in 4 days. 2 weeks later and the USPS lost my package (or someone at their distribution facility in Coppell took it). I scheduled an appointment to get my iPhone screen fixed, I did have issues with Apple and my apple care which apple fixed for me. However, the Best Buy representative couldn't work with the CS code and refused to speak to the apple representative. I recently ordered a mini fridge from the Best Buy website on January 17th. I ordered the item based on dimensions due to item matching the space I needed it to fit. The item was shipped quickly but it was the wrong item. The item was similar but an inch and a half bigger. I took the item to the Sherman location on January 24th and the store returned the item to get the correct item. The item was set to arrive, per the store associates, on February 2nd. I started driving to the store and found that the item would not arrive until the 3rd. On the 3rd I called and found that the item has been delayed and mirrored this in the app. It is now February 14th and I just got off the phone with the representative who told me the item has been on back order for a while and would auto cancel if I hadn't received it by March 3rd. I went ahead and canceled the item because is the delay. I do not mind waiting for an item, if the delay is stated. I was sold an item, that shows available on the website, but is on back order. They shipped an item that was slightly better to try to get by with not having the item because the item was on back order, or not available at all. I then take the wrong item back to the store and they tell me the item will be there on February 2nd, only to find that the item has been on back order since before I returned it to the store. I was sold an item that they did not have, I was lied to at the store, and then told my order would be canceled anyway because it has been so long since the order. I would rather be spit on than have to do business with this store ever again. Ordered a laptop. Several days later it came in and I had 2:00 appointment with the Geek Squad to install antivirus. Went in and picked up laptop and carried it around the counter to Geek Squad. Guy said it might take as much as an hour or more to do the install while waiting on other customers. So why the appointment? Called a few minutes ago to inquire about picking up the laptop, after going through 3 minutes of prompts and another 5 mins on hold a human answered and put me back on hold after I told her the reason for my call. A few mins on hold and the line went dead. Repeated the process and went though all the crap again. This time after being put on hold again I was told it was almost ready. You can't call the store directly. You must go through the national call center. Good customer service is key to repeat business. If it was a one time event I might overlook it, but it is always this way. I'm done. read more

Told ATT I wanted to trade the phone back in to my last one" incorrect, The correct answer is "we did not inspect the phone properly and we are forcing the customer return it instead of owning up to our mistake" Worst service people. Even worse manager. Cindy the manager is terrible. Employees don't finish inspections for your phones on att next plans. The girl that was helping me was in a hurry to get to a football game and told me "I can do this faster than you" and clicked everything. Turns out the phone isn't in the correct condition for a next plan upgrade. Hmm... I wonder if the employees did proper inspections if this would be a problem?!?! Oh they also got my paper work mixed up with the person next to me and never gave me a return label. Went to ATT to see if I could get a return label and they said I would have to go back to Best Buy Sherman to get that. When I was there I asked if I could just return it to them since it was a corporate store. They said no and said "well who did your inspection?" I explaied it was Best Buy Sherman and ATT said this phone will not pass inspection. There is no reason they should of pressed yes on all these questions. That's when I went back to Sherman Best Buy to speak with Cindy the "manager". She said Best they could do is refund me my $40 next plan charge and the $35 activation fee and switch me back to my old Note 8. So now.... I've spent 2.5 hours upgrading the phone. Another 2 hours driving between home, ups, att, and back to Best Buy. Another 1.5 hours with manager and employees trying to come to a solution. (Gave up) Drive back home to get all my paperwork and accessories. Now I'm back again to wait 2.5-3 hours to reverse all transactions and cancel the next plan problem. Unhappy with this outcome. Unhappy with Best Buy. Extremely unhappy with bad employees and the worst manager Cindy (no integrity). Will never shop at Best Buy again. Elite plus member lost today. This is used to be my favorite store, until today. Had the most unpleasant experience. M son is buying an appliance package for his new home. The salesman states that it's easier to go home and figure it out. Then spend more time on explaining their new total tech plan which sounds great but my first need is the appliances. Then the final straw for me, buying some water proceed to the checkout and stand there waiting while 2 employees standing there discussing whatever and the other checkout has a customer. Then I hear ma'am this is the checkout, not near the door or even an obvious checkout. I said to the very unfriendly cashier, well what are those cash registers by the door? I will never shop Best Buy again. I ordered 2 tvs online and went to the store to pick them up like I was supposed to- I was then told that the order was cancelled and a refund was issued. I could order the TVs and they would be on a few days later... I was never informed of the cancelled order, never received a credit back to my account and had to repay for the 2 tvs that I needed. The lady at the Customer Service counter was rude and kept threatening to not help me- "If you want me to order these for you-- you need to understand that you will pay for them again because your order was cancelled and money returned"--- 5 days later--- my money is not credited back- Best Buy has 2 payments of over $200 and I am still waiting for my refund. For an electronic store, Best Buy is one of my favorite stores. This store seems to have mobile phones department covered well but I dread shopping here for anything else. I purchased a $1000+ iPad this afternoon and ended up going to service desk (happened to see it staffed as I was leaving the store) and requesting they get the device for me because I couldn't get attention of their staff. I forgot to request the pencil when I initially requested it from the service desk but opted to stop in Mckinney instead - guess what, they asked if I needed help. If you are willing to run around the store to break up their gaggles of employees chatting to get help, then this place is okay. I shop many Best Buy's frequently and this one is the worst for getting any assistance. Once I get someone's attention, all is fine but if you are waiting on someone to get free, they don't ever call for help. You can stare at their groups of employees chatting to each other across the way. They aren't going to come to you. Did someone train them all to be oblivious to customers in the store? You will have to go to them. I suggest you send those to Walmart and get some employees that know the sentence "do you need any assistance?" It's not that this place is awful but they are not up to the standard of other Best Buy's. I try not to stop here often and I'd say about 1/4th of my visits I get assistance easily. read more

Bought a $600 TV and $400 Soundbar there today - on recommendation from the seller - and they are INCOMPATIBLE!!!
