One of the most unpleasant experiences I have had gave 1 Star because I couldn't figure out how to give none. Technician was rude. I tried to explain just had hip surgery and couldn't move as fast as she wanted so she just grabbed my foot. Fully expected to see blood as she was so rough when using the scissors and clippers. Have never had a pedicure that hurt like this Polish poorly applied. Had to take off when I got home. She left my nails so long I will have to go elsewhere to have them trimmed One thing for sure. One word= PRICEY. Came here only once as a visitor on a business trip. The man I had was very rough and hurt my hands/nails more than once. He almost seemed a little angry as he slammed his tools down several times. At the end of the manicure, my nails actually looked really pretty. But, then the price rang up $45 for a FILL. My sister and I both went here to get our nails done before her wedding, which was 2 days away. She got acrylics, and 2 fell off before her wedding! I just got gel nail polish, and within 3 days it was all peeling off. Won't step foot in there again. They are very friendly, but unfortunately they cannot properly do nails. read more

They have a lot of regulars which is obviously a good sign. They are pretty on time with their appointments and the place is SO clean and spacious. Great for large parties! There is a private waxing room so you're not stuck sitting out in the open trying to get your mustache or armpits waxed. They do full service too so whatever you need, they wax. The lady that was doing my nails was being very rude and aggressive. She made me bleed on 3 of fingernails and she would say sorry and continue to make me bleed. Everytime I moved slightly she would pull my hand back. She was being very rude and I didn't feel welcomed. She seemed very annoyed. She didn't even ask me how my day was. Got a pedicure here. The lady was very nice but she applied the polish very sloppily. Just slapped it on, totally flooding the nail area and cuticle with top/base coat. The actual color was painted well but the clear coat was just slapped on all over my toes, all over the skin. All the nails came off in a couple days. My friend and I decided to try Royal Nails as I'm new to the area. Both no-chips were horrible. My technician rushed so fast I had to ask three times to correct missed polish and to get the polish off my skin, lastly the edges of my nails were rough and I had to ask for a final file. I usually get Thien to do my nails here but today got directed to a guy that had made me not want to risk coming here again. I could just cry. I'm about to go on vacation and wanted a cute French tip on my toes to show off in my new sandals. These nails and my feet in general were not cleaned up today after I left. He barely did anything to trim them properly or clean the skin around. I'm horrified. I asked for the $40 pedicure with gel. He tells me "you pay $60?!" Lady then tells him something and he says back to me "You pay $55!" Okay fine, Thien usually does such a great job that I pay that and a hefty tip for her trouble. This guy would barely touch me to start, did a horrible job on the nails (looks like my 9 year olds work), watches the door and his coworkers more than my actual feet, put a waaaaaaaay too hot towel on my legs, did NOT clean up the bottom of my feet (again barely even looked at them) and then put this super slippery gel like substance on my feet to finish. I almost fell on the way out to my car! At one point he was attempting a leg massage? And he says "you want me teach someone at your home to do for you instead?" It was so creepy and I felt very unwelcome. I plastered on a smile to stop myself from losing it the whole time. Owner at the counter asked me how everything was. I was so about to cry, not wanting to cause a scene, I just shook my head. This is the only time I have not left a tip. I feel horrible but I now have to go get a proper pedi tomorrow before I leave for my trip. This was supposed to be my treat and relaxing time to myself after graduating college and instead I was so anxious and sad the whole time. No relaxation. No pretty feet. I came here today for the first time while traveling to Wausau for work. I was looking for a place to get a reasonably priced and decent pedi. I called and asked the price and they told me $25 or $35 s decided to give them a shot. I got to the salon, was taken to my pedi station and was relentlessly up sold more expensive pedicure options until I finally agreed because I just wanted the technician to stop talking to me. No, I don't want fresh cucumbers or oranges rubbed on my calves, paraffin wax, or nail art!!! I just wanted to relax with a basic pedicure after a long day of work. I will NOT return. read more

I have loved Royal nails since they first opened. The daughters are awesome, and do great work. They don't try to pressure you into anything other than what you want. It's clean, and feels more like a spa/salon than some of the other ones in Wausau that feel like sweat shops. They have coffee, water and snacks in the back room, and the little girl that is often there will sometimes walk around and offer up the goodies to you. I had to take a break from having my nails done, and someone recently gifted me a gift card to the new competition in town. I went and hated it. Very cute, but I didn't like the service, and the quality and end result just weren't the same. Waiting for my full set to grow out to get in and have them fixed. read more

Seriously the worst experience I ever had with a nail salon. I kept hearing good things about this place so I went with my sister today. I tried to converse with the lady that end up doing my nails. At first she seem nice but after awhile she was plain mean, acted annoyed by me who didn't do anything and was rushing through everything. When asked what color I wanted to do I said something nude and even show her a pic of something similar. She just dumped the swatches in front of me and doesn't even give me advice so I thought I should ask her which one she think look good between a couple colors. This is the same as when you go to a restaurant and you asked the waiter/waitress what they would suggest, liked or what their popular dishes are. Usually they are extremely polite and give you suggestions. This lady just give me a look and didn't even answer me. So I picked two nude colors: one matte one shimmer/glittery. She just gave me another look and said they look the same. Usually the person will say that those are nice colors that u choose. The application was sloppy and rushed through and designs was just horrible. Remember I said I gave her a pic to look at? I know they can't do it exactly the same but should be somewhat similar. Mine didn't even look like the pic one bit. However the worst part is that it's not even a complicated design, it's just random flowers that are made by using a dotting took and she screwed it up. The shimmer color only got two thin coats that you can still see my nails through the polish. That one should at least be 3 coats. This whole experience is like something I do for my 6-10 years old nieces at home when I'm in a hurry. I gone to many salons before and have my own supplies at home to do regular and gel nails. I've been doing my own, friends and families nails for years now. However it's just nice to have someone do my nails once in a while, so that's why I still go to salon to get mine done here and there. I know perfectly what I'm talking about here when it comes to the process and customer service. Like I said before the polishes was applied sloppy and all over my cuticles and won't last a week. She already know this so that's why she told me not to do any dishes or to wear gloves if I have to do them. At some salons they will tell you out right that if it doesn't last 1week or it peel in a couple days to come back and they'll redo it for free. Funny thing is I'm only home a couple hours haven't done any dishes and the corner of my left thumb already peeled. The design on my toes r just as bad as my fingers. I paid a professional for a reason. If you're a professional you need to act like one and do your craft like one. By far the worst experience and nails I've ever got done. It's so bad I'm ashamed to have it on my nails for a week, if it even last that long. Can't believe I paid $78 dollars for this crap of shit. My hard earn money just went down the drain. read more

Myself and my 2 daughters went here to get our nails done and a 2nd grader could've done better! Within 2 days my polish was coming off, within a week my daughter's nails were lifting up and they wouldn't do anything about it. My other daughter got a design and it looked absolutely horrible! They said that a week was too long. I spent well over $200 there and they wouldn't even fix their mistakes.
