It was mid-October 2022 when we contacted him to see if he could fix the poorly constructed chimney in our 50 year old home. We had not had a fire in the fireplace for at least a decade because when we tried, the house became smoky and we had to open windows. He carefully inspected the spalling exterior brickwork, broken mortar, cracked crown, cracked flue, existing and improperly installed damper, and firebox. He gave us an estimate and well-informed advice. We were delighted that despite the lateness of the season, rainy cold weather, and his other work commitments, he and his crew were able to finish the work in time for Thanksgiving. He routinely called and spoke with us in person and texted us as to the timing and progress of work. He accommodated changes that we requested. The fireplace now works great, draws well, and no smoke inside. We pictured the newly refurbished fireplace in our holiday card this year.
