Nala gets very nervous going to the groomer. Petco would not even take her because she was pulling on the leash so hard to get away and she's a strong dog. When I pick her up from Best dog she is so happy to see me and not as nervous as I would think she would be so they must be good to her. And she always looks fantastic. One of my favorite parts is she's fully dry when I get her back, I hate when they try to rush the dog home at other groomers and you get a damp dog. They also do a great job with her shedding/undercoat. Prices are reasonable so I tried to always give a good tip. I don't give out many reviews, but felt this place needed a shout out. read more

We were in town RV'ing and one of our Cavaliers needed their nails trimmed. Although we had him groomed 4-5 weeks prior, his nails were still too long and causing Potter pain to walk on and at 14 years old, walking in it self is hard enough. We called, then drove over and Paul immediately took care of Potter being ever so gentle with our senior. The cost, a reasonable 10 dollars. We chatted with Paul about Potter and the other rescued "kids" we have(we had adopted Potter when he was 13 along with another 13 year old Cavalier).....plus two other kiddo's we had traveling with us(total of 4 kids). After hearing this Paul exclaimed, No charge for the nails which we graciously declined but just the notion of a small business owner recognizing "Dog Lovers" which we are, was a credit to him and his profession. I would highly recommend his services to anyone in the area...Paul took the time to explain how long nails are difficult to trim because as the nail grows longer so does the "quick" of the nail extend meaning only so much can be trimmed at a time. This had never been explained to me before and now I know how important it is to stay on top of the kids nails before this becomes an issue with the "quick". We are staying on Parker for a couple of months and needed to get our dog groomed. We brought him here and told them he is blind and toothless & they took such good care of him! Put him in a crate and put blankets on it so he wouldn't hurt himself if he bumped his head! Also, took him out every 5 minutes and held him so he didn't get too nervous. I had a wonderful experience at the groomers I have two yellow Labrador Retrievers that are 11 and 12 years of age I have been getting them shaved by the same groomer for the last 6 years my female has separation anxiety and was unsure how she would do with the new groomer. he was so professional and good with the animals that I just simply stood by and watched my dogs like most owners dogs mean the world to them they took very good care and I have trust in them to take care of my babies as long as there are still on this Earth with me. I called Paul at 8:30 in the morning on a Friday with a dire situation.... my two dogs stunk like rotten fish from playing along the river last night (now I know why they were rubbing themselves on the clump of dead sea grass on the beach, yuck. He took them in at last minute despite him already being booked and closing early at noon to go out of town. He said just drop them off I'll fit them in. When I went to go pick them up I could believe how good they smelled and how clean they were. Paul said it's the worst fish smell he'd ever smelled on a dog and he did an outstanding job getting rid of the stench. He went above and beyond to help me in a pinch and I sure do appreciate it, the whole house stunk the night before despite me giving them a bath with shampoo that didn't do a thing for the smell. read more

We took our two Cavalier King Charles spaniels here a little over a month ago. We are here in Arizona from Eastern Washington for the winter and were RVing in a place that has no grass so they were bringing in more sand and dirt than we could handle. We were 60 miles from Parker, well from anywhere, really, that has any accommodations, so chose Parker, made an appointment and did some necessary shopping during their grooming. We requested "desert cuts" and got exactly that. Although we had never seen our doggies so "nude", it sure solved the dirt problem. This is a busy, well-run father-daughter business with dad doing the grooming, and his daughter scheduling and managing the front-end. He ended up working late, a little past 5:00, but we felt he stayed to get the job done, unlike so many non-owner businesses. Our pups were happy when we picked them up and didn't appear traumatized even though they aren't groomed very often. I would highly recommend this dog groomer, as there were all sizes and breeds of dogs there when we first dropped our dogs off. The only two reasons we haven't been back, is one, like I said, we don't have them groomed very often, and two, we have left the area but would return to Best Pet in a heartbeat.
