Joe Feinhandler with Best Equity is simply the best in the business. I don't ever write reviews but had to write one for him. It's a long story but worth sharing so you make the right choice and go with him. Back in 2012 we used Joe when we bought our first house. He explained every step of the process and even has videos he sends you while going through the mortgage process to help you understand what is happening and what to expect. Given this was the first house we bought, we had lots of questions which he answered and wasn't bothered by them all. A few years later, we refinanced with him and the process was again seamless. Fast forward to August 2020 and the interest rates being at record lows. We wanted to refinance again and a friend told me their husband's best friend was in the mortgage industry and could get me a smoking deal. Against my better judgment I opted to go through him with Guaranteed Rate Affinity. I should have known from the beginning I was making a mistake. I was dealing with someone high up in the company and they were less than responsive. It took them forever to lock in my rate and every time I asked what was going on, I got the vague answer: Things are taking a long time because of historically low interest rates. I started the process with them in August and they finally sent me my final documents in late November. When the documents arrived, the closing costs had more than doubled from the original quote and our cash out was was next to nothing. The whole point of the refinance was to get a lower rate and cash out for the remodel we are in the middle of doing. The loan was unacceptable. Their explanation for all the changes was lack luster as well. In a panic, I reached out to Joe for help. I explained what had happened and instead of being irritated with me he offered to review the documents they sent me to see if he could figure out what happened. After reviewing the documents, Joe advised me he could do better and worked up numbers while I was on the phone with him. Joe got me a lower interest rate, lower closing costs, and more cash out. I started the process with Joe the first week of November and I signed closing documents the day before Thanksgiving. He got our loan done in less than 30 days. As always, joe explained everything that was taking place, quickly responded to all my questions, and even made changes to the loan in the middle of the process for more cash out without batting an eye or getting irritated. I was signing the closing documents at 6 pm the night before Thanksgiving and had a question about them. Knowing it was the night before Thanksgiving I didn't expect Joe to answer but he did and quickly explained what I had a question about. The loan closed on December 1st and I had the cash in my account the next day. Trust me when I tell you to go with Joe Feinhandler with Best Equity. You will not be sorry and will save yourself headaches and heartburn. Fortunately I learned my lesson before it was too late and will ALWAYS go with Joe for my mortgage needs.
