Joe's Auto Repair on Humboldt St is a great mechanic. He's honest, doesn't do unnecessary work, usually can get your car in quick, gets the work done quickly, and charges a fair price. Make sure you go to Joe's on Humboldt. He'll take care of your car quick for a fair price and will access the work needed honestly. He's direct and no nonsense, but I'm glad to have found an honest and fair mechanic in the neighborhood.

OK, so it was snowing like crazy this morning and I drove over to the West Side to do some errands…read moreand my car overheated. I called AAA but the garage they assigned to tow me had only one truck working and it was out towing a car near JFK. Great. I cautiously drove up to the 96th Street Mobil gas station, leaving the car on 95th Street because the road was blocked off. At the station I asked if someone could walk down my car and put some coolant in, and was told no. But they gave me the number for Dani, who works for Manhattan Automotive and as luck would have it he was in the neighborhood. He picked me up in his tow truck, drove me to the car, took a look at it, drove me back to the Mobil station where I bought some coolant, back to the car, put the coolant in, refused any money and I started toward home. Only a few blocks later the car overheated again, so I called Dani again. He came right away and towed me home. He was pleasant and knowledgeable. I plan to take my car to my regular mechanic on Monday, but will call Manhattan Automotive for an estimate, once I know what' wrong.

Wall Automotive is NOT that kind of place. The owner Bryan, as well as the men who work there, are consummate professionals and deeply respectful. It feels more like I am dropping off my car at my Uncle's house than a business. They are always friendly, up front with estimates and assessments, and are incredibly transparent about what needs to be done and why. I would recommend this automotive shop to ANYONE.
