Awesome family run local San Diego small business with a handful of great RV rentals available. I had never used a travel trailer before or even driven with a trailer behind my vehicle and they made it super easy. The camper was perfect for a week long camping trip to Utah and a great value. It had a fully equipped kitchen and was super comfy to sleep in. Highly recommend.

First-Class Camping! Gail is amazing!! The camper was set up beyond our expectations, and we loved the outdoor grille that made meal preparation a breeze. Also, the trailer was spotless! I can't say enough about Gail's professionalism and desire to make her clients happy. Thank You, Gail and Best RV Vacation, for An Amazing Vacation!!!!

The 2021 T@G Boondock at the top of Whiteside Mountain Hip Camp in Jamul. No problemo making it up the trails.

If you are looking for a cute travel trailer capable of some light off-road duty and want to work with a local business, look no further than Best RV Vacation here in San Diego. I did my due diligence and searched the various RV rental websites (like outdoorsy) but found the best deal (greatest savings even after website discount coupons) was reaching out to Gail and Jan-Carlo directly through their website and email. (Or if you prefer to chat with someone give them a call; they are both very pleasant to deal with). Onto the rental process and overall experience: Rental Process: Once you make contact with Gail she will send you the various documents you will need to provide in order to secure the rental (the usual stuff like a valid drivers license, insurance info and confirmation to avoid paying for additional coverage etc. and a security deposit). Along the way you can request additional items such as a generator, a shower tent and any of the hitch/hookup items you need to tow the vehicle (if you don't already have them). Once you have all of your documents and options chosen you are all set! Pickup Process: When you arrive to the facility where they store the trailers it can be a bit confusing, as there are 2-3 different storage companies and driveways to enter. Go to the end of the cul-de-sac and enter the last turn-in on the right (North) and there you will be met by Gail and Jan-Carlo in the parking lot with the trailer ready for you. They will take as much time as necessary to educate you on the where/what/how of the trailer itself as well as give you a quick tutorial on how to hookup the trailer (if you need it). This took us (trailer newbies) all of 30 minutes so it was very quick, efficient and informative. If you have extra time you might also want to practice backing/parking as it can be a bit of a learning curve. However, the trailers are light enough they can be maneuvered around by 1 or 2 people if needed at your site as long as you find a flat spot. Rental Unit Review: Our trailer was the 2021 T@G Boondock, a trailer we had done some research on prior to renting as something we might want to buy in the future. We chose it because of its off-road capability and it didn't disappoint. While it doesn't have a heavy duty suspension system like some of the true off-road brands like Black Series Caravans; this unit was more than capable to make it up some carved out dirt truck trails (Mother Grundy Trail) on the way up to the Whiteside Mountain Hip Camp. It was very clean inside and out, and all of the amenities were fabulous including the running water sink, electric fan, solar panels, etc. We spent the weekend without a water or electric hookup and didn't run out of either. The bed was very comfortable and the interior was cozy without making you feel claustrophobic. It probably helps that it has a bunch of great windows including the stargazer window and plenty of lights inside. Also, the trailer was super easy to tow. While I have a big Ford Raptor; these units are light enough to be towed by most sedans. Overall Experience: 100% I would rent again from Gail and Jan-Carlo. When you are ready for your next outdoor adventure and you are looking for a fair price and easy-to-deal-with process, don't hesitate to book with Best RV Vacation.

Very easy rental with an easy pickup and return. Very convient T@G trailer, small stove,.refrigerator, sink, very comfortable bed. Lots of lighting inside and out.. Easy to tow and easy to place on your campsite. You can roll it where ever you want. The owners are very helpful and very friendly. Highly recommend them.

I rented the Mini Max trailer for a 2 night trip to Joshua Tree. The trailer was in great shape and extremely clean. We slept 2 adults and 2 children (5 and 1.5 year old) together in the bed. If the kids were older the bed might have been too small, but it worked great for us. Gail and Jan-Carlo were very accommodating and professional. Pick up and drop off was very easy. I'm very happy we found this business and I wouldn't hesitate to use again. Towed with a 2020 Toyota Tacoma TRD Offroad.

Great service! We received our T@G in perfect clean state. They explained all the features with patience and good spirits. We had no issues with our camper and it performed beautifully in remote, non-hookup areas. Return was a breeze and we look forward to renting again!

We had the RV dropped off at a military base and it was agreed that they would drive in on base and set it up. The guy who delivered didn't have a CA Real ID" and they wouldn't let him in the base. We needed up having to set it up and there was some issues with the hook up hoses. We had to purchase a hose and it still leaked. I left a couple messages and emails and got no answers. We ended up figuring everything out and had a great time. The guy brought his passport and picked up the RV with no issue. It took several calls after the rental to get ahold of someone about the issues we had with the drop off and set up. The only reason we got a return call is that I indicated that I was going to write a review. All in all, not such a bad experience that I wouldn't rent from them again. Now I know how to navigate the conversation of what our expectations are.

The whole process was very transparent. Was enough to win our business again. But we got into trouble twice, we hit a diamond road sign (which was not visible from the rear view mirror) and we were hit by another truck on the avenue of the giant which broke the driver side mirror. We duct taped a plastic mirror purchased from NAPA and completed our trip. We reported the incidents to AdventureKT (Which you always must do, it is not only the right thing to do, also it helps you and AdventureKT both to handle the situation, no one likes surprises right, when you are an adult :)). When returning, Chris took the video and picture of the slightly damaged vehicle. And told me they will follow up with me later on. We took outdoorsy third party insurance, where we hit some roadblock. But Chris and team went above and beyond to work with me, because if outdoorsy didnt pay for it, it would have been our responsibility. They kept in touch throughout the process and at the end with their help, outdoorsy approved the repair. This is very important, because it was on of the situation where AdventureKT was in loss, they couldnt use the vehicle for few days. But Chris kept his cool. One day i was upset and I was close to loose my cool, but Christ was professional with his assuring voice and did whatever he promised to do, in this not so ideal situation. Will rent from AdventureKT again, but do read the fine print of the insurances, which I was offered to purchase from outdoorsy.

Sandy Vans to the Rescue!…read more So... my original awning decided to pick a fight with the wind. The wind won. Turns out my Exclusive Outfitters-built Sprinter van had a VERY heavy electric Dometic awning supported by only TWO mounting brackets. And just to make things more interesting, those brackets were attached with riv-nuts drilled into the corner of my roof--which also happens to be a pop-top. I'm no engineer, but a giant heavy awning + two brackets + a pop-top roof apparently wasn't the winning combination we all hoped for. Enter Sandy Vans. I live in San Diego and needed a replacement awning ASAP because we're leaving for Utah in a couple of days. I contacted Sandy Vans and had an awesome experience from the very beginning. I spoke with Cindy two days in a row, and she was fantastic--super helpful, courteous, patient, and accommodating. When I came in to pick up the awning, if she didn't know the answer to one of my questions, she didn't just shrug and send me on my way. She immediately found someone who did. That kind of customer service goes a long way. Then came Braden. Also extremely helpful and accommodating. He handled my purchase and even gave me his cell number so I could text him if I decided to install the awning myself and needed some technical support. He did briefly mistake my Sprinter for a Ford Transit... I'll forgive him. My van has a pop-top, so it doesn't look like the 9-foot-tall Sprinter skyscrapers that make up about 90% of camper vans these days. Then Brian came out from the shop and actually took the time to look over my van and roof rack to figure out how I could mount the new awning. He gave me several ideas, explained different options, and made the whole project seem doable. Sandy Vans offered to install it, but apparently I enjoy making my life more difficult, so I decided to tackle the installation myself with a good friend. About 2.5 hours, some cutting, grinding, a few choice words directed at the old mounting brackets, and probably a questionable amount of confidence later... NEW AWNING INSTALLED! What impressed me most about Sandy Vans was that they were helpful even after realizing I might not be paying them to do the installation. They still took the time to answer questions, look at my setup, offer advice, and make themselves available if I ran into problems. That says a lot about a business. I highly recommend Sandy Vans for their customer service, knowledge, courtesy, availability, and willingness to actually help their customers. Cindy, Braden, and Brian were all great to deal with. Now hopefully this awning and the Utah wind can maintain a respectful relationship.

I finally got around to reaching out to Sandy Vans to see about getting a replacement and was told that "this item is outside of their return window" (which is 30 days) but they could offer me $50 off towards a new $200 bug screen.. which seems silly considering the first one fell apart. I'm not sure about their other products, but the bug screens are garbage! I declined their pitiful offer of $50 off a new one and told them I'd purchase from a company with a more durable product. I'd recommend anyone else thinking about buying this product do the same!

We own a travel trailer and a 5th wheel, but our tow vehicle was out of commission. Despite this setback, we had a camping trip planned with a few other families. We reached out to JaeBug Trailer Rentals and received a response immediately. Booking was super easy; they were incredibly accommodating, especially since we had many moving parts and I can be a bit high-maintenance when coordinating these types of things with other families. We rented the 36' Genesis Supreme toy hauler, which was in pristine condition! Even though we brought everything from our travel trailer, they provided all the necessities and even had the beds made up. It literally came with everything you would need as a starting point. Where we were camping, it was HOT (high 90s to the 100s) during the day, and the A/C was amazing! The "master" bedroom had a REAL mattress; it was so comfortable, I didn't want to get out of bed. Not only was the trailer itself fantastic, but the customer service was also exceptional. The team at JaeBug Trailer Rentals was always available to answer any questions and went above and beyond to ensure we had a perfect trip. They even provided thoughtful touches like extra blankets and kitchen supplies, making us feel right at home. The process was so easy, I'm seriously considering never taking our trailers out again, selling them, and just using JaeBug Trailer Rentals for all our future trips. Their prices are reasonable, especially considering the high quality of the units and the outstanding service. I can't wait to rent from them again, even though we have our own trailers.
