My husband and I drove up to Ramona oaks looking for a place to rent although we decided it was a little to far of a commute for us . The community manager Tracy was extremely friendly made us feel as if we were right at home ! No questions went unanswered I didn't feel rushed during our conversation or pressured. She was very easy to talk to and we definitely wouldnt mind having her as my community manager it seems like she really cares .if we do decide to rent here it's definitely because of her ! thank you Tracy ! read more

We really enjoyed our stay here! We needed a place to stay for about a month between selling our house and out of state move. It was quiet and safe. Our space was huge and private. Lots of shade trees and could hear birds singing all day. Kids loved the big pool and swam almost every day. Pool area could use an update but was perfectly usable. Also a little bummed to have our expensive pool "noodles" taken by someone. No fault of the resort of course though. Staff were super nice and helpful and the pricing was excellent compared to Santee Lakes that we were also considering. read more

Drove an hour and a half to check RO out as we are looking for places within a couple hours of Murrieta to escape for the weekend. My wife went into office to ask if we could drive through to check it out. Wife stated that the women was not friendly and seemed like she didn't want us driving though to check it out. A guy said oh sure we will let you in. We drove to the gate and waited several minutes, nobody came or opened the gate arm. We gave up and left. I guess they don't want people to see what is really behind the gates. Any great RV Resort welcomes people checking it out anytime. We stopped and Palma Casino RV Resort and was welcomed to drive around and check it out. Nice place by the way. So RO will not make my list of places to stay within 2 hours of Murrieta. read more

SLUM LORDS "Resort" is an inaccurate description. Here is what you can expect at Ramona Oaks: Minimal operating washing machines (currently one working out of 4 in one laundry room), no property maintenance (ie: rake your own leaves, and level your own camper spot), kids running around the park entrance daily, questionable sanitary potable water (long term issues with water storage that yet to be resolved) unresponsive staff (good luck getting them to answer the phone even if your a camper) and unkept amenities (washing machines and dryers constantly out of order) The pool bottom was destroyed by unsupervised children throwing large rocks and was never repaired. Both the hot tub and pool were shut down around the end of September (we were told because of the winter schedule). My power box caught fire and destroyed my 30amp cord. Cord was never replaced and power box never repaired, I was plugged into a vacant camper below me for several months before I decided to move spots. Entire park ran out of propane at one point, the propane bill was not paid by staff so we had to take laundry elsewhere. I contacted the owner via e mail to inquire about the bad water and chronically broken washing machines. His tone was a clear indication that nothing mentioned above was a concern to him. Ramona Oaks certainly doesn't boast an enticing atmosphere for the weekend camper. It also doesn't provide much more than a parking space for the out of town working traveler either. You pay your $900+ power rent/utilities and expect to have to travel for laundry and repair services. Becareful having mail delivered, often times mail thieves seem to target this area due to the fact that mail is left unattended on the porch of the office 24/7 outside of the coded gate. The positives about Ramona Oaks: You will meet very friendly tenants, and there is ample space between spaces. The weather in Ramona and San Diego in general is amazing. It is close to many attractions. This park has amazing potential. I would be glad to hear of a turn around in the future! read more

Cheap park - under water advisory from the county for contaminated water since October 2021. My bill has been wrong several times. The internet is always out & apparently connected to the office phones. Paired with shorter business hours makes it very difficult to get ahold of them - I would have to call multiple times in a day for someone to answer. The also work with poor electricians so we've had nearly 2 weeks of "your power will be out sometime between M-F with times varying between 4-8 hours." We were told we'd be communicated with when our specific power would be affected & there was no communication. Went to express concerns with the front office and was told "you're not the only one who has been in here upset." Didn't try to apologize, didn't have any actual updates or information or excuse for the lack of organization or communication. It's a ghost town so tons of availability. Overall the park is quiet and the neighbors keep to themselves but management and communication is the worst. Electric & water are two main reasons we use a resort instead of boondocking. Highly disappointed with how they represent themselves here. read more

We spent Friday and Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend at Ramona Oaks. We found it because we were looking for a quick getaway close to home. First let me say that the staff is outstanding. Extremely helpful and pleasant. Rich, a staff member, helped me back in to a very-very narrow spot and I was really appreciative. He also helped me out when we were leaving cause due to the unevenness of the ground I had trouble getting my anti-sway's on the trailer. Doesn't help also that I am a rookie to the travel trailer-RV world either!. If I was rating the site based on the staff only I would have give it a 5+ ! We had a site that was very narrow. So narrow that we barely had room to set up our outdoor area. There are larger sites nearer to the road (SR-78) that would have been preferable. Our location, #90 and those around it are really small. There are alot of permanent residents also, and they appear to be located in distinct areas, while the weekenders are on another couple of levels. The restrooms here are immaculate!! We have a 7 year old and we like to ride bikes. This park is not a bike riding one. Its really hilly. You can go down fast but coming up is quite the task. They have a play ground and a pool/spa. Both are in good condition. Our daughter played in the playground but as with most places this time of year the pool is really cold. Although it didn't stop other kids! They also advertise a putt-putt golf and we did use it but it is in disrepair, really bad shape. The staff said a recent management change was only a week or so old, and hopefully they will get this and other items around the camp site fixed up. Some local family members joined us for the day and kids went fishing down at the pond. No bites but it was relaxing. Next to the pond are some really big RV sites that we would target if we went there again. The staff hosted a chili-cook off at their "red barn." We went and it was nice. There was also a local wine maker and a separate local person selling cheese. We purchased some of both. The people were super nice. This place has some real possibilities. The staff know what they are doing and they indicate the owner is going to put some money into improving the entire location. In closing i would say that for a couple days away its a nice place to retreat. There is not a lot for children to do so if you bring kids be sure to include some board games or movies etc. In the summer I'm sure the pool would be a big draw too. My family and I absolutely loved our three day weekend here! We stayed in a cabin that was fully furnished with beds, dishes, toilet, everything you could need! We took advantage of all they have to offer: tetherball, mini golf, horseshoes, shuffle board, pool table, fishing pond, hiking, the fire pit, BBQ grill and the pool/ hot tub! I don't have the words to describe Ramona Oaks RV Resort. Everyone working here is wonderful and very very helpful and accommodating. We held our beautiful barn wedding here during memorial day weekend. We had roughly 45 people stay the entire weekend and 90 people attend the wedding. Everything ran as smoothly as a wedding could and the Resort helped in every possible way going over and beyond what was expected. To say I would recommend anyone stay here (or have a wedding or any event here for that matter) would be an understatement. I will forever hold this place dear to my heart. My family and I have enjoyed the park on many different occasions and I look forward to spending many more wonderful nights there. read more

We did not have a pleasant experience staying here. Unsupervised kids running around in and out of other peoples campsites. The sewage dump for our neighbors site was right near the picnic table where we wanted to eat. Moved it as far as we could away from it, but it didn't matter we could still smell it. Quiet time didn't exist while we were there with people going way past the posted time. campsites are really close together. Not a good weekend and we will not return in the future read more

We visited with a group and found the park has serious electrical issues. Four of the group had to call about electric not working properly. One rv had to move to another site. Later we found that one rv had to have the air conditioners fixed which had shorted out. I had 1/2 of my circuits that stopped working and discovered that the inverter had shorted out costing $2,600 to fix. While using the clubhouse, we were told to leave at 930pm cause they were closing it up for the night. Some of us had been relaxing at the propane fire pit and the worker just turned it off and told us they were closing. Monthly rates are high and electric rates are 25 cents per KWH. We would NOT recommend taking a chance staying at this park based on the likely potential of having electrical damage to an rv. We stayed there in June 2019. read more

We stayed here over Memorial Day weekend. Actually made reservations pretty late (like 3 weeks before) so that was nice. The location is really pretty and about 20 min from the quaint town of Julian. Our RV spot backed up to their small lake (which they said was stocked with fish, but we didn't see anyone catch a fish the whole time we were there), the site was nice and big. Only complaint would be in this space (17) you can hear the lake pump/filter/bubbler thing that runs all day. I guess it's similar to if you camped next to someone running a generator. I'm sure we would come back in the future, very nice place, great for groups, kids and anyone looking to get outta the city! read more

My husband and I rented an RV and we found this resort here and we're so glad we did. The front desk assistant remembered who I was from the call I made to her to reserve the RV spot. She remembered that I had told her that this was the first time renting an RV. She had Kyle hook up everything for us and it took him seconds. Kyle was amazing. Look for him when you're there visiting. He will make you feel right at home. He made our stay there very comfortable. Such a great genuine hard working team. My Boyfriend and I are contractors with Invair Systems, a drone inspection agency. We've been inspecting power towers and lines for the better part of 2019 all over the state of California. Ramona Oaks was a hidden Gem that understood our predicament and were willing to work with us as we never knew when we would be leaving. The whole staff was incredibly nice and accommodating!! It's super nice to find rv spots that are understanding and geared towards customer service instead of keeping strict rules all the time. Most places in California have a 10 year old camper rule and ours is 11 years old. Ramona Oaks was nice enough to look past that. The pool and hot tub were super luxurious and due to the altitude is a little cooler at night during the fall. read more

What a great place! Debbie and Mark truly care about you having a great time! And Scotty, is just the sweetest and so thoughtful. We got in on a late rainy night and he made sure the heater was on in our cabin. Thank you all so much! Like I mentioned, the weather wasn't in our favor but we still had a great time! We played mini golf and pool and almost BBQ'd but it was COLD! Great BBQ's! We did some hiking and since it was close to Christmas we put up a few decorations and really felt like our cabin was our home. That's what it's like staying here. Home. They had everything you could imagine to cook with. The couples cabin was so comfortable and the heaters were great! We loved the patio area and how centrally located we were. Also, bring some DVD's!!! We went to RedBox in town but had no idea the TV's also were BluRay players! Bonus! One thing I really noticed is how clean everything is! This park is very nice. Great amenities but owner/management needs to decide to either be residential only and be a mobile home park or be an RV/camp recreational park were people can camp out for holidays or family vacations but not both. I don't believe trying to have both works very well. When we first tried this park it had different owners and management. You could rent a cabin for $100 bucks a night at the time. Now the cabins were turned into apartments for full time residents. The park is 90-95% permanent tenants. It's basically a mobile home park. This is a huge change in business model. People will pay top dollar to stay at a park like this but they prefer to be land lords instead. Don't understand. The problem with having vacationers at this location is that the residents do not welcome the vacationers. We were booked and paid for 3 nights in advance but only stayed one night. Permanent residents that live infront of the pool and play ground area, top dollar locations, were at the pool drinking, smoking, and behaving belligerent in the pool. Another resident asked them to stop. This sparked retaliation. Later that night the belligerent residents start to drive were vacationers were staying and blasting what sounded like a fog horn. It scared the kids. Permanent residents were complaining too and some mentioned that these specific residents are like this, often drinking and using narcotics. The part that worried us is that they were driving around the park not just blowing a fog horn but doing so while under the influence. We were concerned they would drive over our site. Other residents stated this type of thing happens all the time but nothing changes so they don't complain anymore. Residents are motivated to stay because this park is the most economical in the area that offers great amenities, according to residents. We did speak with management and they did their very best to control the situation. They were so nice but when it comes down to it there is only so much they can do. Laws protect renters and it's costly to evict. Camping facilities are so profitable when it's just for recreational use with small percentage permanent residents, so I don't get it. Look at BK Ranch and Thousands trails for example. for pricing. We have fond memories of this place from years before we will eventually give it another try. For now we will be using Thousands trails, BK ranch is super nice but pricey, koa is also great but costly and booked into 2022 in some locations. Thousand Trails is $600 per year for half of the map for membership then $20-$75 per night with your membership depending on location of your site. These camps offer the same amenities as Ramona Oaks but free of drama typically found in apartment buildings. No, we were not offered a partial refund by Ramona Oaks but management was very nice and helped with what they could be. Best of luck to them. read more

What a difference new management makes! I visited Ramona Oaks last winter, and while I enjoyed my stay, I was stunned by the often rude behavior of the manager. He treated me, and I gathered from others, everyone like tenants rather than guests. Fast forward to now, Dec. 2016. The new managers, Mark and Debbie, are great people! I arrived just as they were closing the office but they took the time to help me get settled in and really made me feel welcome from the start. A few days into my stay, I requested some gravel covering for my site because of impending rain and Mark was there himself the next day with a couple of loads. The park is nicely maintained. Good paved roads and clean facilities. A very beautiful setting overall. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that the lack of wifi is a slight hassle. Guests have to go to the clubhouse for internet. Also, they advertise cable TV but what you get is 5 local channels that fade in and out. These are minor annoyances though, and didn't really detract from my enjoyment. read more

We had a very enjoyable stay, but were disappointed that even though the pool and clubhouse are supposedly open until 10, we were kicked out at 9 with the person muttering, I can't stay awake until 10 and claiming the hours were until 9 while standing next to a sign that says 10PM. My only complaint about the sites themselves are, that our site was all gravel, which made tent camping a little uncomfortable, though we did set up on a patch of fallen leaves. The good: The resort is well-maintained, no trash or butts anywhere. The clubhouse is picturesque and very functional, with a very nice pool table and cable TV; though we did not see how many channels. The hiking trails are very nice, although overgrown a little, which is a hazard. This place has great potential, but needs a little more customer focus. read more

If you are a young person for the love of God avoid this place. We thought it was a nice place because of the pictures but the golf couse is pathetic, run down and the carpet is ripped. They moved our spot when we arrived because we were too close to the water and stuff needed fixing. The campsite is small, the one trail sucks and let me just say. THEY CLOSE THE CLUBHOUSE AT 8pm. We stayed in the RV park portion of the resort with three other families for 4 nights (December 26-29). From the start, we had great customer service! We were going to be late due to mechanical issues, and a call to the front office yielded alternative directions that would help us miss the majority of the windy roads as well as a late check in. The facilities are well maintained and clean- we saw employees working diligently each day of our stay. There is a great park, a basic mini golf course, a nice dog run, and even a well stocked barn/game room. The Pool was not open during our stay but is a good size.This is not a place to go "glamping", but a happy medium between dry camping and a higher end resort. Everyone was very friendly and kind to our children. The website recommends bringing a bike, but as there are many hills on the property I would not recommend it for kids. Also- no wood fires are allowed because of fire danger but propane fires are allowed. We will be back! read more

Very very disappointing especially for $54 a night! Most of the sites are around the dam are 100 ft from the really busy 78 so traffic noise is all the time. Spots are lovely and shady which is great if you don't want Direct TV as there is no signal. I noticed that further up the hill the RVs have satellite dishes but all sites were taken. There is no WIFi at the sites either. On a positive note the ladies restrooms are fabulous and new. Well tiled and clean. read more

Our daughter and her fiancé planned for their wedding to be held at Ramona Oaks RV Resort on July 9, 2016. They wanted an extended family/community wedding event and decided that camping was the way to create that. From beginning to end we could not be happier with the entire experience. One of the guests called it a Four Day Camping Wedding Extravaganza, and it was! Debbie and Mark, the managers, accommodated every request we had. They made the four day event smooth and seamless for all of us. Every request was met with a smile and an attitude of "Yes, we can do that!" We ended up with 60 of our 130 guests camping at the RV resort! There were people camping in trailers, and vans, and tents. We also rented three of their cabins. (with air conditioning!) One cabin for the grandparents, one for the bride and groom and one for the mother of the groom and her family. The four day event gave everyone a lot of time for connecting, reconnecting, catching up and visiting. It really is possible to put on four gourmet meals for 130 people and an additional camp style breakfast for 60 people at Ramona Oaks RV Resort! Mark and Debbie worked with all of our vendors to make deliveries easy and on time. They let us use the barn (clubhouse) for all of our staging needs and we filled it up! They installed a couple of tall posts for us so that we could string our lights over the dance floor. We successfully created a professional looking venue- complete with canopy, dance floor, lighting, tables and chairs, flowers, bar and serving tables- on the open land on the other side of the barn. (clubhouse) The new owners have spruced up, fixed up, repaired, replaced and added many features at the RV resort. The place looks fantastic and our friends and relatives, from all over the country, enjoyed the beautiful setting of the RV resort. The wedding was in the morning followed by brunch and then we had a five hour rest period before dinner and dancing started at 6:00pm. Many of our family and friends got in the pool to cool off and enjoy the afternoon. The laundry rooms came in handy for laundering the napkins after each of the meals. The laundry rooms were clean and the machines were new. We rented a couple of golf carts from Coronado Golf Cars in San Diego. We like to eat organic, non-gmo, local and sustainable. We were so pleased to find two local restaurants that completely met our needs. Their food is without compromise and every bite is delicious. Our guests enjoyed custom ordering their breakfast burritos just they way they wanted them from the food truck. Our guests raved about all of the food! Every one of the meals was delicious!!! We also eat gluten free and were fortunate to discover Awafee -a new gluten free bakery. The bride and groom-to-be taste tested many different and well known gluten free bakeries before they found Awafee. Once they tasted Awafee's cakes, the decision was made! According to their taste testing, there is not another gluten free bakery that comes close the the delicious treats made by the owners of Awafee. The husband and wife owners delivered gluten free lemon bars and brownies on Friday night for dessert and they delivered 10 cakes on Saturday at just the perfect time. It was a warm day and so the cakes couldn't be delivered too early. They delivered the cakes and set up the cake table at the perfect time for the bride and groom to cut the cake. It was quite a sight for our guests to see ten gorgeous cakes for them to choose from! Truly some of the kindest folks I have ever met manage this amazing RV campground. This place has everything ! A fresh water catch & release pond, horse shoe pit, a "HOT" tub with a refreshing pool, excellent BBQ grills, with a very rad club house that looks like a classic style barn. There's even a Mini Golf course in the midst of all this fun.! We couldn't have asked for a better enviorment. Went on a short little trip from la and wanted to go to the zoo and wild animal park. We stayed in one of the bungalow for a couple nights with our 18mon daughter. It was so nice and peaceful. Bungalow has everything you could need. Much better than a hotel room for me since you get the kitchen and separate bedroom. Staff was very nice. Only thing I would say I would have changed is the pool was pretty cold, heated would have been nice. But it was still a great pool area and Jacuzzi. We got a deal on living social but would definitely come back at regular price. read more

The fishing lake was beautiful, the barn with WiFi and a pool table was clean and comfortable, firepit, basketball, miniature golf, dog run, washer & dryers, clean warm pool and spa. We love the setting. Lush shady oaks, very relaxing. They advertise Cable tv but only have 7 channels of digital tv. No WiFi either. (Something expected of a resort?) For 50 bucks a night we would love to be able to relax at night with something to watch. Cell reception is barely there, if at all (at&t) which further exacerbates the no WiFi situation. It was suggested to me that most people don't want or need these amenities when they go "camping ", however, RV'ing is a different story. We are among the thousands that are living and travelling in our TT, without having a "home" to go back to. It is our home, which is why we sought out this resort, to have these amenities. As far as i can tell, all other amenities seem to be good. Laundry facilities are clean and we'll maintained. Everyone working here is nice. read more

Just spent Labor Day Weekend at Ramona Oaks. This was our first time and we were pleasantly surprised! To begin, the park managers, Debbie and Mark, were fantastic. We had some issues with the site (new 40 ft toy hauler a bit too big), so Mark was able to find another site (equally nice) to accommodate us. And this was Friday, late at night, with a full park. Then we had trouble leveling the trailer and he let us borrow leveling blocks. They were both so helpful. The park is very nice with lots of trees and shade. It was full, but didn't feel crowded. The grounds are kept up and very clean. We brought four kids and they played all day - at the pool, mini golf, tether ball, basketball, and then back to the pool. They also rode their bikes up and down the hills. There is a great little hiking trail by the entrance. We felt is was a safe and family friendly campground. We will definitely come back! read more

Unfortunately I have had nothing but bad experiences with this RV park since the change in ownership in December. The managers Bob and Diane lack professionalism and basic decency. Bob in particular is condescending, raises his voice and has no respect for the residents and storage customers. My RV is in storage there. I have filled out a form that gave them my email and phone number. I hear through a third party that they are threatening to tow my RV for nonpayment claiming they couldn't get in touch with me. When I called them they claimed that they had the number wrong and didn't have my email address Which I had previously given them both. They also claimed that they had not received my check that I sent in the mail or most likely lost it. They are very unorganized and really have no business managing that facility. Because I do not trust them, I will be driving an hour there to pay my rent in person. I am going to have the manager hold up the check in front of him and take a photo to prove that they received it. Corporate take a closer look at who is running your facility. You may want to make some changes. read more

My family stayed here last weekend. We rented two cabins. We had so much fun. There is so much to do for the kids. Our kids loved mini golf, the playground, and the pool. The employees are extremely rude, they are very disrespectful, and if you want to put a lamp outside they will call you a squatter and get in your face. I would never stay here if my life depended on it. We have a nice 36' weekend warrior toy box, Tesla and Harley sitting out front and a very clean campsite. Will never go back to this place, once we got there and got the full hook done we sat down relaxed later on the late afternoon I decided to use the restroom in the RV once I flushed it BLACK water started coming out I checked all faucets and both toilets and same issue, turns out this place is on a well and that's were the water was coming from, 2 other campsites next to us had the same problem, so I switched over to my own tanks. I told and showed the camp host what was going on but they couldn't do anything about it they wouldn't refund or comp me. The other thing we had happen was we went to the barn and shoot some pool were there for about 20 minutes guy comes in about 8:20 pm and says he's closing up it's winter hours this was about 3 weeks ago or so. Recently spent a long weekend here, choosing it purely for its location on our route. Though quiet, and clean, I don't know that I'd call it a resort. There is a (very basic) pool and spa, laundry rooms and bathrooms and showers.... the rest of the "amenities" listed, I don't believe are in condition to be claimed as such. So, not exactly resort and vacation like... but certainly not a camping environment exactly, either. Spaces are CLOSE and small. (Really small. Nearly no outside space.) No fire pits. No privacy (none). Seemed to be quite a few full time residents, which is fine, if that's what you're looking for. If it's along your route, and you need a safe place to hook up for the night... it's fine. Or, need something semi long term in the area, great! But, if looking for either an RV resort experience, or camping type atmosphere... this is probably not it. The staff was nice, but it was also more expensive than other stops during this trip, with much less to offer... especially space and atmosphere. I don't believe we'd choose this place again, if we were looking in the area. read more

First of all paying for a campsite with two tents that were suppose to accomidate the amount of people we had. We get there and they do not have those tents as the ptevious people ripped them. So they put in much smaller tents. So had to go buy a extra tent. The lady at the office spoke with the owner and they said oh well those are the tents they have now. These reservations were made a month ago! Now have family here and they wouldnt do anything to accomidate us. Not even a partial refund. Then we smelt sewer leakage coming from somewhere the whole time! Yuck! Went to to office and was told not thier problem since it could be a RV. Again the owner does NOT care! What a jerk not to even make sone sort of effort for people paying to stay here. Defintely Stay away from this stinky place! read more
