The office staff at Escondido are always wonderful but my daughter is especially grateful to Miguel of their maintenance staff. This is our first but definitely not our last stay here. We booked a 4 night stay via their call center. They assigned us to spot #61. We realized after our first night that the spot was not going to work for us, it was too small for our travel trailer and large truck. We went to the onsite office and asked about changing spots. The three ladies in the office didn't hesitate and immediately went to work looking for a larger spot for us. They did, spot #104. And not only did they allow us to move, they didn't charge us the difference for the remaining 3 nights. Customer Service is alive and well here at Escondido RV Resort! OMGosh...I am SO sad to be leaving; but the job takes me elsewhere. The desk staff is FABULOUS and Chris the manager is a sweetheart! Miguel is the coolest fellow and SUPER hard worker (maint) and Jose does a good job too. The sites are incredible (esp up on the terrace) plenty wide enough and length-appropriate, with lush greenery and GREAT SHADE. I have had great neighbors (seemed to be near some other 'longer-term' peeps) and the ebb and flow of the weekenders made for an entertaining time. Stacy at the front desk was so kind and welcoming to me, my friend and Tafone Frijoles. We were just taking a walk and I decided to take a peek. The grounds look well manicured and lush. The lobby alone had cookies and coffee and holiday decorations and free maps of California! I saw ALL the amenities a RV RESORT should offer and very well maintained. We spent our traditional Thanksgiving family camping trip at the Escondido RV Reaort. First thing I noticed as we pulled in and went up the hill to our site was all of the beautiful greenery. The grounds are very well kept. We stayed in one of the Elite sites which had a comfortable amount of space and was clean with concrete but surrounded with shrubs for privacy. I loved that it was a very organized resort. Lots of space and clean. Plenty of parking for your extra vehicles. The best part was the park we were able to walk into that had a wide open area for the kids and dogs and also a park for play. The walking paths for dogs was a bonus! We met Michael who worked at the check in. He was so inviting and an accommodating the whole time we were there. He took the time to visit with us and shared all about the resort. He has a very impressive mind, taking pride in what he does and a great personality to top it off. ERV RESORT is lucky to have such an employee! We were sad to leave and will definitely be returning!! read more

The park is set on a lower hill next to the registration office with a small pool, and an upper hill next to a park with a coded reentry gate; playground, restrooms and an overlook at the park. The spots are close but landscaped for some privacy. All sites are back in, large 5th wheels and Class A are in the spots. The service is very good; Michael is the type of person any business wants facing the customer. They are within walking distance of a lot of businesses; 10-60 minutes. The main number seems like a commission based service and the price kept dropping with previously unmentioned specials until we agreed on a reservation. We later received a discount code by email to use if we want to stay longer. Once here it was easy to extend at a fair price. The washer dryers are $5 a load; ouch. read more

This is a clean, safe, well taken care of RV place to stay! Military friendly! The staff was extremely helpful and friendly!! The included amenities are nice. Water, trash, wifi, heated pool, hot tub, and of course the coffee and tea bar which has a bunch of fun syrups to add. The bathrooms are cleaned daily and very nice! We had serious RV issues. Chris and Joe were incredibly helpful. The place is clean, attractive and the guests were having a blast. I spoke with a nice man/guest who pointed me in the right direction to the dog park. Then I spoke with an employee on a golf cart who redirected me to the dog park when I got lost again. Lol I would definitely recommend staying there and would stay there again with a different motorcoach. read more

The staff and management at this RV camping site has continually gone above and beyond time and time again during our extended stay. They have fixed any and all problems at the speed of light. Very nice park. Exceptionally lovely folks staffing the office to check you in. Beautiful landscaping which attracts plenty of birds and hummingbirds. This RV resort is laid out nicely and backs up to a park which has a lovely green space, and a play area for kids. Escondido RV Resort is dog friendly, kid friendly and the people we've encountered during our stay have been quite pleasant. The only negative would be the constant road noise. However, I believe that it could be alleviated with a white noise machine. Come visit and enjoy your stay here. read more

I don't do many reviews but when I do its because someone has really gone above and beyond and very much out of their way to be kind, respectful, welcoming and make you feel part of the company/community. This review is after our 2nd stay with Escondido RV Resort probably at least 6 months apart. The first trip happened to be close to Thanksgiving. We were just getting settled in and getting ready for our first nights dinner and we got an email from Adam to come on down for a complimentary Thanksgiving community dinner/potluck and refreshments. We explained we were not prepared but he asked us to come anyway. Adam had purchased a variety of drinks we were welcomed to and long term residence came in with many different amazing dishes. All of them were very friendly and welcoming even though we were not regulars. This alone earned the 5 stars for me and a second trip and many more to come. We have been across the US and find it hard pressed to remember someone going so far out of their way to be great at their job! Adam is an amazing asset to the SUNLAND Brand! Our second trip was just as pleasurable. Now living in our RV but needing to get a change of scenery we had a few questions/concerns about RVing post covid lock down orders. This resort goes out of their way to be clean, follow protocols and keeping things safe for those with concerns. I love rewarding resorts that first look to take care of every customer that walks through that door and this is the high standard you feel from Adam and his team when you enter Escondido RV Resort. The front desk (Sarah) just got chewed out by a vicious unhappy woman (who currently occupies space 40). Sarah was poised, respectful, patient, and gracious... even under duress. Great job maintaining your professionalism, Sarah. Oh... and the manager Chris is wonderful too! Aside from that, the resort service team all had wonderful rapport amongst each other and though my family has only been staying here for 1 day, all current tenants that we've met so far, sing the praises too. My family and some friends joined us for a weekend to escape the LA heat. The reservation process was very easy, I called in a few weeks ahead of time to make my reservation. We we first arrived I accidentally drove to the terrace level and I was super excited. As I turned each corner I realized that my space was not up there :( I went back down the small hill to the much smaller more compact spaces and found my space. There was no way we would fit in here. We have a 25 ft with no slide outs and a full-size tow vehicle. I called the office and Leanne was helpful in relocating our spots, unfortunately due to availability we could no longer be next to our friends. The spaces were small, and no too much room outside and no tables. So the next day comes and we are preparing to leave to see San Diego when my friend was asked to move their truck by the next spot over. He moved if and asked in that was okay. The man responded yes. So we left and came back to the RV around 7pm and we were greeted immediately by the two angry residents. He stated they have been waiting since 2pm because they were not able to back in. Then the wife came screaming in the street at us and threw her glasses in the street. So..... this harassment was not cool. We had 4 kids and they basically screamed at us in the street. There are way too many long term residents here. My neighbor didn't look like he/she had been outside or cleaned in a long time. They must have been living there for at least a year. My suggestion is if your going to allow long term residents consider keeping them in a separate area because they made me feel like I was interrupting their home life when I am just trying to have a good vacation. If your looking for a place to stop for a day or so then it's okay in a pinch. They do have a nice pool, I probably won't return. read more

My husband visited Escondido RV the last 3 days and can't say enough about the staff, Chris and Michael at the front desk. They are so welcoming, professional and hospitable!! We have never visited a resort like this before now. They go above and beyond anything you can imagine. You feel like you've known them forever. The park is beautiful and clean and can't say enough about it or Chris the Manager and Michael at the check in desk. We will definitely go back again, sooner then we expected!!! My wife and I stayed at this resort 9/21 - 9/23/2022. The resort is beautiful and pet friendly. As we stayed in space 90 we were, for us, a bit far to enjoy pool, etc. However, we were very close to a very nice park and able to take our two dogs for frequent walks. The main downside to our space was the Sun was too bright to use under our awning, no shade from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Next trip we will get a space facing the other direction. I made reservations two months ago and received the confirmation for our booking for 15-18th July. Came in about 11pm on the 15th and the after hours checkin did not have our reservation information. The gentleman available said to take any spot available and settle the issue in the morning. Came in to the office at 8am, only to be told that our reservation was cancelled in June. The manager on duty Chris stated she was sorry for the inconvenience but could not accommodate the rest of our stay. Chris stated they tried to email us, but I highly doubt that when we received the confirmation email just fine. I have a real problem with this situation. We drove yesterday 5 hours from Nevada to spend the weekend at the beach, two adults, 2 kids, 2 dogs. And Friday morning we spent a couple hours looking for a place to stay the rest of the weekend. Every park that can accommodate our needs is full. In addition to RV parks, all campgrounds are full and so are the military bases, which not everyone has access to but we do as a military retiree. It would have been nice to be able to understand what we were getting ourselves into and what a possible plan b could have been. Chris attempted to make the situation right by booking us at a sister property in El Cajon but we do not believe it will suit our needs. There's no playground, no pet area, which are both important to us. This location is also further south than we wanted to stay as we came for a family reunion nearby, this would add a significant amount of travel for a family that already drove five hours to get here. The property we booked is also higher rated on both Yelp and RV Parky, which is where we look for all of our stays. It was a nice gesture but comes nowhere near making up for this cancellation and debacle of a reservation. read more

After a long drive from Phoenix, we arrived here to wonderful, friendly and welcoming pair of ladies..Sara and Chris. Promptly checked us in, shared the evenings customer treat and informed us of events for the weekend. Sites are tight, so call them direct to make sure you get a site that fits your rig. The bathroom/showers were very well kept and a treat after a long day on the road. Sara and Chris checked on us when they were around the property and were fabulous in every way. Very accessible to SD. Clean bathrooms, a small pool and hot tub is available. It's hilly and tightly spaces but with a lot of fairly mature landscaping that helps separate the sites. The biggest negative is just how very loud the freeway traffic is from anywhere in the park. There's coffee in the office for free. Also, apparently there's also little muffins sometimes but I never got told about it. read more

This is my third extended stay here and I am very content. The staff are wonderful... Christine the GM, Leanne, Patrick, and Armando are always kind and helpful even when crazy busy. The park hosted a wonderful 4th of July barbecue, always have fresh coffee in the morning, and often have sweets in the afternoon. The showers are the best I have seen in any private park and the location is ideally located by the I-15 freeway for easy access to San Diego's many attractions!! read more

Ten stars - our site was generous and flat (concrete), clean, and surrounded by beautifully maintained flowers and trees. Pool and recreation room were pristine and inviting. Park is conveniently located near 15 freeway and close to grocery stores and shopping. The highlight of our stay was its friendly staff member - Michael - who warmly greeted us at the front desk. He was professional, efficient, accommodating, and caring. Michael was the best! We highly recommended the park to two of our sons and their families, who have made reservations to stay ther soon. Rabbit feces covers the pad between the door and our truck each morning. I mean covers it. Asked to have it cleaned three times, they cleaned it once and told me I'm expected to clean it each day if I don't want to step in it. Electrical rates are almost $1 per kwh, the site is expensive and amenities are a small pool, jacuzzi, bathroom, and laundry room. Next time we will skip San Diego or find a better place to stay. read more

Sunland's Escondido RV Resort used to be really good. Real internet and fair pricing on utilities would have earned it five stars. Now it's a two star atmosphere in a four star setting. The landscaping, the pool and Jacuzzi, and the maintenance staff are still great. However... Want to get together and watch Monday Night Football in the clubhouse with a fire in the fireplace? No you don't. Want to go in the clubhouse at all after 6 pm (5 pm on weekends)? No you don't. Want to watch a daytime game (or anything else) on the big screen? No you don't. You can't. The clubhouse is now only open during business hours, and the fireplace is now off limits. I went down one Saturday to watch a day game with my daughter. The desk clerk told me the TV was hers and she was going to watch her favorite show What used to be a fun, friendly resort community is now a penny-pinching, rule-driven trailer park. Our 1st night was in very small site, next morning we asked about changing sites to 2 larger sites and we were accommodated. Adam and Josie found out that we're RN's and an Xray Tech. They honored us by bringing flowers and a very nice card. We will return to the larger sites in the future. read more

I booked a long term visit to The Escondido RV Resort. I even traveled 9 hours over a weekend to visit the resort to request a specific spot for my visit, as I wanted to walk the grounds and get a feel for the resort. The resort and service are as advertised, but... I was telephoned a week later and told that my brand spanking new 2020 RVIA certified custom RV, with a VERY hefty price tag, was unacceptable because it has "edges and right angles." I understand that it's the RV resort's right to refuse service, but... It's a sad day when a six figure RV can't get a hookup. read more
