I used Yelp to find a car wash place and drove over to Water Works to discover that it was a detailing shop and I had to make an appointment for a day or two in advance. I asked the owner if he could recommend a place nearby that I could go to right away explaining we had just come from the funeral service at St. Francis. He told me to nose our car into the packed garage and he would clean off the windshield and front of our SUV with his high power spray hose and solvent spray. That he did and then he had one of his employees come over to help wipe down the car. When they were done I was going to give him 20 bucks thinking that was fair recompense. He turned down the offer saying that due to Covid and family illnesses he had lost a number of his relatives over the past two years and that he understood what we were going through. He told us we didn't have to pay! I thanked him gratefully and we drove way with a clean windshield and front end completely impressed by the owner's humanity and generosity!

Quality service has become a thing of the past here. Makes sense, because it was taken over by a GM dealership owner! See, pretty much everything the Government Motor Company (GMC) touches, turns to crap! So upon close inspection of my "brand new" Toyota 4-Runner, the truck came out of the detail shop with scratches, that weren't there when it went in. Once in the wash, the machine cracked our windshield - there was zero damage prior. Upon exiting, we stopped and showed the employees the damage. Fast forward, they sent an email stating they weren't liable and went into a diatribe about how this is how "tempered glass works" (Windshields aren't made of tempered glass, they are laminated glass). When I pushed back and told them I expected them to fix it or pay our deductible they refused.I contacted my insurance company and they said that the deductible is $250 and it could potentially raise our insurance rates if I file a claim. They refuse to take responsibility. I have contacted the Attorney General, the Better Business Bureau, and will make sure to tell everyone to NEVER EVER TAKE THEIR VEHICLE TO ECLIPSE CAR WASH OR ANY OTHER CAR WASH THEY OWN (they own many). This is the first time I've been to a car wash that does not have someone navigating you in it so I was a little nervous but I had no issues at all. The vacuum that I had must've just been so full or maybe had something stuck in it after the car wash because I did not have a very good suction. The only thing I would encourage the location to add are rags with spray on carts like I've seen at other car washes so people can wipe down the insides of their car without having to buy some thing from the vending machine. Personally, I won't use the "tunnel" option as the brushes touch your car, but the self-service bays are full featured and use quality chemicals and soaps. Both locations are maintained very well and usually staffed. The automatic touchless option in the self-service bays are quite good and provide a good strong undercarriage wash. All bays are equipped with credit card readers- very convenient and beats hauling a roll of quarters with you! The vacuum setup at 25th and Broadway is beyond convenient with separate hoses for each side of your car and credit card readers. I wish they'd change the ones on 48th to the same setup!
