When I first started going to them, I was…read moreassigned to a dentist there who wasn't even on their list when you called to make an appointment. So, someone very, very new. I had a tooth that was, apparently, badly infected, so this dentist performed a root canal on it. But when he made the crown for the tooth, it was way too big. And I mean massive. So massive that it filled the entire spot below it, where another crown was supposed to go. I told him the crown he made was too big, pointed out how it was so huge it would be impossible to fit the other crown below it. He did not listen. Just brushed me off and said that the computer had modeled the crown after my real tooth, so they would fit together just fine. Fastforward to a week later, when I had to have the lower crown fit in. Guess what? The monstrously huge upper crown was too big. It blocked the lower one. The poor dentist who was in charge of the lower crown kept shaving it down until it was almost nothing, trying to make it fit. I finally told him to stop, that it was useless because the upper crown was too big. I called this office again, Norwich Family Dental Associates at 17 Lafeyette, and told them AGAIN that their crown was too big. The had me come in, shaved the massive upper crown down. Then, fastforward to another week later (roughly) and I get a call from them out of the blue telling me to come in because they needed to inspect the crown they'd put in. I go in and guess what? Turns out, they had to replace it because oh gee, wouldn't you know, it was too big. Like I had told them it was FROM THE VERY BEGINNING. So, they had to give me a new crown. But not before the lower one had been shaved down to almost nothing in an effort to compensate for THEIR mistake. I still had a few fillings that needed to be done. Same guy who did the upper crown, because once they just assign you to the dentist that can fit you in the soonest, he's just automatically who they give you every time. And he was apparently new, so they just funneled new patients to him. During a filling, the Novocain he gave me didn't work. I felt everything. And it hurt. Badly. He gave me another injection of Novocain, but with the same result. It. Didn't. Work. Third time's the charm, right? Wrong. It still didn't work. So, I can only assume he was injecting it in the wrong spot. But it didn't matter. After his third attempt didn't dull the pain he just kept on working and I had to clench my fists and bear it the whole time. All of this happened around 2022, 2023. Now it's 2025. The dentist I had been seeing there a couple years ago was gone. So, I was assigned to a different guy. I go back because a crown I had (different tooth), popped out during flossing. I go there just to have it recemented. Well, when I go to have this done, wouldn't you know, the tooth next to it has a cavity beneath the crown. But the cavity? It was found on an x-ray that had been taken ALL the way back in 2022. But the guy I'd been seeing then just hadn't caught it. So, it festered. For years. And you know they kicked? I had actually gone into the office a few months prior to this cavity being found, wanting all teeth x-rayed because I knew something was wrong. They brushed me off, said it was too soon for a full dental x-ray and that it wasn't due for another TWO YEARS. The cavity could have been found THEN, too. But no. They brushed me off, like always. By the time they remove the crown and see the damage, most of the tooth was lost. Did they still charge me for THEIR mistake? You bet they did. Did they give me anything for the pain in my gums caused by the TEMPORARY fix they did? Of course they didn't. Just told me to come back in and give them MORE money (that of course I can't afford) to see what's going on with the tooth because it still ached. And if I did, naturally they'd tell me some other asininely expensive procedure would be needed to fix it. I tried to tell them it probably hurts because, due to other medical conditions atm, I just heal slowly. But of course, their go to is to just have me come in. Again. And give them more money. I'm done. With this office. With it all. I'm done.

It was wonderful to come back to a place where I knew the care was excellent, the people were efficient, pleasant, competent, and caring. I recently broke a crown and the earliest available appointment to replace it was with Dr. Jenkins' associate, Dr. Lawrence. I went with it, reasoning that if he was confident enough of Dr. Lawrence's skill, then that was a good enough endorsement for me. Today Dr. Lawrence replaced my crown and it is my highest praise to say that I am just as happy to see him as I am Dr. Jenkins. The work was excellent and pain-free, he explained every step of the way, and I believe that tooth is better served than it was even before the previous crown broke. I was also fitted with a custom mouthguard today, as my habitual nighttime grinding and clenching are probably what is breaking my crowns. Dr. Jenkins and Dr. Lawrence are excellent dentists in every category, including preventative steps to keep you from having more dental issues down the road. I have had a great deal of dental restoration done in my life - far more than the average for various reasons - and I can truthfully say I've never felt in better hands than I do now with Jenkins Dental. I can't be more disappointed in the lack of care from Hebron Center Dentistry. Dr Javed created a…read moreserious issue with my crown, ignored my concerns about infection, and left me in excruciating pain. I met privately with Dr Nicholes to discuss my experience, and she disappointed me further. I am writing my full experience for complete disclosure. Dr Javed recommended that I replace an old crown that was having no issues. She prepared the tooth, put on a temporary, and scheduled the permanent for a month later. Do the research, this exceeds the recommended time for a temporary. Pain set in a week before my appointment. (Everything I have read states that the crown may have been ill fitted, or damaged) I let the office know the morning before my appointment, that the pain was excruciating. The receptionist said that the Dr. would get back to me. Since I didn't hear from her, I went to my appointment the next day, confident that the permanent crown would solve the problem. After a cursory look, she said that she would need to refer me to have a root canal. This was a Friday afternoon, so I'm concerned about the continuing pain over the weekend. She suggested that she could take off the temporary, and secure the prepared crown with temporary cement and that might mitigate the pain a little. She needed her assistant to remove the crown, as the Dr. was unsuccessful at doing it herself. The odor that permeated the room as the temporary was removed was pungent. I questioned Dr Javed about the smell and mentioned my concern about bacteria. Her response was that it was just the normal smell of temporary cement. I have been researching this issue and absolutely everything points to bacteria and infection. I left the office literally weeping in pain at 2:30 that day. At 3:43 I called the office to question whether I should be put on an antibiotic. Office was closed, but the machine said to push 2 for an emergency, which I did. At 6 pm the crown popped off, so I called again, pushed 2 and waited. Every 2 hours overnight, I piggy-backed ibuprofen and Tylenol, which only dulled my pain. Dr. Nichole's (the owner) later commented that tooth pain is "special". And yet, no return phone call. Saturday morning I started searching for emergency dental care, which I received at Columbia dental. First, the root canal, followed by 14 days on antibiotics to treat the stubborn infection that had been described as "normal cement odor" In total, I suffered 6 days of excruciating pain, followed by 14 days of persistent ache and swelling. I would not be writing this review had I not met with the owner, Dr Nicholes, yesterday. She doubled down on the cement odor which dumbfounded me-there was, in fact, a raging infection that was ignored, treatment was delayed , and pain escalated. She informed me that they do not have emergency care outside of office hours. At the time, it was stated on their website and confirmed when I called on the phone and told to press "2" for emergencies. Her comment was that she was out of the country. When Dr Bussiere opened this office years ago, I recommended all my friends and family. He was so knowledgeable, open, and even administered Novocain without pain. The office called me after procedures to make sure I was feeling ok. It with a heavy heart that I must revoke that recommendation. Hebron center just doesn't care the way it used to.

The girls at the front desk are top notch, friendly and professional. Place is very clean and relaxing. As for the doctors they are both the best in the business, I have dealt with both of them for cleanings and fillings and they are truly artists when it comes to fillings. I also feel more rested in the morning and need less sleep probably because I'm getting more oxygen at night. Added bonus of the mouth guard is that it prevents tooth damage that can be caused by grinding.
