Not that best western is known for being top quality but, This place is falling apart and is in serious need of upgrades. Over priced and has safety concerns. Main concern of mine was the back door was a swinging door with no lock or security measure. Anyone could walk in. Also, parking was super limited. Came back after dinner and it was full. Also, the door to room is really hard to open, felt myself having to muscle it open beyond practicality. Also the room had damage all over it. Would not recommend. Front desk seemed to disregard wearing masks as well.

Would I say this stay isn't terrible. The rooms are spacious, and up to date. There are a couple…read morethings that were bothersome during my three night stay. Coming into the hotel the lobby is nice, there's a nice size seating area and a little area to pick up last minute snacks/ items you might have forgotten. The gal that helped me during the morning was quick and attentive, she told us the elevator was slow and kind of chuckled.. thought it was odd but shrugged it off.. going to the elevator I will say it's not slow.. it's sketchy. The doors to it were already open yet I didn't see anyone coming out, we got on and it took fifty years for the doors to shut.. then a loud buzzing went off before we went up to the third floor. Walking to the room you smell about fifty different smells which is fine, multiple people cooking multiple things throughout the halls. Getting into the room the first thing I noticed was the musty smell of the room. It turned me off but the overall look of the room itself was nice and modern. The bathroom is spacious. The tub itself didn't seem to be wiped down thoroughly which I cleaned before bathing my child.. the rag came out kind of dirty which was gross. Another thing that was unpleasant was the bed sheets are white.. yet there were visible stains on the sheets, comforter and pillows.. not only that but later on I was told that the hotel is known for bed bugs... great. The breakfast was actually extremely satisfying. They had cinnamon rolls which was a big hit for my little one, pancakes, bacon and eggs, a big variety of things. I would say overall the stay was good. Clean wise it's mediocre which I wasn't expecting for an holiday inn.

The room was not clean. The floor had not been vacuumed. The tub hadn't been wiped down. I asked…read morefor a manager to call me; didn't happen.

This place is very very outdated. Pull out sofa didn't even have a sheet and it's badly stained,…read moreand dirty. My son was not sleeping on that! We left and I'll attempt to get a refund from booking.com. I paid $90!! The hotel is refusing to refund me, because I didn't complain within 30 mins! We had no reason to look in the sofa bed in the first 30 min. They say they'd have offered us another room, but didn't even offer a sheet or apologize when I said why we were checking out. Unless you're homeless, this is probably not the place for you. Think $25-40/ night room and that's what you get here. Also, my booking said ground floor unit and it in fact wasn't. They don't even have an elevator for the upper floor. You're better off sleeping in your car in the Walmart parking lot practically across the road.

But this one is even past our ability to over look. Within the first two seconds I went to the bathroom and found a dirty towel in the bathroom. I was grossed out but whatever, we could avoid it. The bed was horribly stiff, and honestly my back was killing me the next day. The hallways had a dingy smelly aroma that stuck around, and the room just smelled musty. There are a couple more issues that I haven't mentioned, but I'll let the photos speak for itself. The bathroom had uncut counter tops, as well which isn't horrible but it definitely doesn't add to the charm.

I wanted to go away to a weight loss retreat so I goggled weight loss retreat and clicked on…read moreBookretreats.com where I saw a listing in Albamare NC for a 15 day fasting /detox for about $700. The pictures showed a few bedrooms & a living area in a house in the country. I made contact to confirm if they were open & the owner Freddie Morgan emailed me that the dates that the price listed on the website is for the dates that automatically populate on it, which is Christmas week. He said those same accamodations now (June) are $1700. But, he said, he could put me in a tent for $700 for the 15 days. I acquiesced and agreed to that, even though it felt like a Bait and Switch tactic. I flew from NY to NC and stayed 1 (ONE) night, out of the 14 I had paid for, and then left. It was very uncomfortable in the tent, the tent had wasps, the bathroom was inside a kitchen used by campers, on a dirt floor, with a shower curtain for a door, that was not at all private. You could clearly hear the conversations of the people in the kitchen and you could see them through the shower curtain and they can see you, while you're trying to use the bathroom. The tent zipper got stuck repeatedly so that I was stuck inside the tent until I could finally manage to open it. It was extremely hot, and fasting in those conditions is extremely difficult. I reached out to both Freddie Morgan and bookretreats.com to get a refund but Freddie refused. He took my $700 for 1 miserable night sleeping in a tent in his barn. He markets his property as a weight loss retreat, writers retreat, stargazing retreat, airbnb, sleep-in-a-barn, and the Fred T. Morgan Homeplace Hotel. Since he is a jack of all trades and master of none, with no medical certificate, yet running a business that is for people to go almost 15 days without food in nearly 100 degree weather, he should at least be cognizant that the situation -sleeping in a hot wasp filled tent while fasting-will not work for everyone.
