Four stars, and really could be a five if a few things are addressed. First, let's just get this out of the way: Metro Boston (including Plymouth) is expensive as far as hotel/accommodations go. That $70-100 a night hotel you stay at in most of the country likely doesn't exist here. And if it does, it usually has the word "bed bug" or "cockroach" somewhere in the Yelp review. Based on my research, the Best Western Plus is the best bang for your buck. You get a reasonably nice room with all the typical hotel chain amenities you expect. It is less than a mile from two of the main strips along Court/Main, and it is a mile away from Plymouth Rock. The drain on the bathroom sink isn't very intuitive (you have to push it in and down and not just turn a nob or anything like that) but beside that, all of the knobs, light switches, etc... make sense. There is a good amount of outlets throughout the room. Room was relatively clean, but a couple of stains along the carpet could be addressed at some point with a deep cleaning. Wi-Fi speed is really slow but I doubt Plymouth is known for its Internet speeds. If you have a decent data connection on your phone, you'll probably be using that more. +1 star for solar panels being installed. Decent hotel. Close enough to the sites of Plymouth while not having to deal with the typical tourist traps. read more

This hotel is my favorite in Plymouth. The rooms are huge and well decorated and appointed. Wet bar, large mini fridge, microwave, quiet and icy air conditioning, coffee maker, ironing amenities...everything! We didn't have to ask for a thing! Breakfast was better than your standard "continental" and parking is typically available right outside your room. I moved from Plymouth over 5 years ago, and stay in town about twice a year, and I'm truly disappointed in myself for not staying here sooner. No ocean view, but short walk (4 minutes)to Nelson Beach. About 15-20 minutes to walk to Mayflower and Rock if you don't get distracted by the pubs and gift shops! Pharmacy with food and beach stuff directly across the street. Pioppis liquor store across the street is ENORMOUS. They have everything. The Cold Spring hotel is a perfect location. read more

This hotel surprised me, in good ways. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy. All staff were friendly and attentive. The room was clean, comfy and equipped with anything we'd need. The heated, outdoor pool was a big plus as well. Helped kill some downtime with the kids. The entire property was beautifully landscaped and really gave parts of the place an elegant feel. We just stayed here. My husband and I were very impressed. Everything was extremely clean. I even came in and cleaned all the surfaces and handles with sanitizer wipes (I have a 2 year old), and nothing was dirty or dusty. I even saw one of the staff bringing the air sanitizer device into the room next to ours. I felt good about being in the room. Room was big, and quiet. We were on the first floor by the lobby and it was still quiet. If you needed anything (more towels, crib, etc) it was available. The front desk brought us what we needed very quickly as well when we did not walk across the way ourselves. Pool was amazing and quiet. The salt water really makes a difference. The gym wasn't open, and its a shame we couldn't enjoy the buffet breakfast, we heard it used to be really great. They did provide a grab and go breakfast but we went and got breakfast downtown most days. Thank you to Kevin and the front desk staff. You all were very kind and hospitable. Surprisingly very good. This is a motor lodge, where you park in front of your room. My wife booked this, and when we pulled up, I questioned why she booked us here. I was going to turn around and find a regular hotel. At her behest, we checked in. And I am glad I did. Front desk staff: one of the nicest guys I've come across at the front desk. Just very pleasant and helpful. Rooms: very roomy, very clean, well apportioned, all the amenities provided. Really liked the citrus soap. Only complaint is mattresses were quite uncomfortable. But the pull out couch mattress was memory foam and very comfortable. Great water pressure and showerheads. Free breakfast: actually cooked on site real eggs. Not the powdered eggs at other places. Cut fruit, juices, coffee, bacon, potatoes, bagels and breads, etc. Real plates and silverware too. This was one of the better ones. YES!, YES!, YES!. Good price. Check in & check out were very smooth. Staff was super friendly, courteous & helpful. Breakfast was definitely better than your usual continental breakfast. Rooms were nicely designed, felt as if I was in a cabin. Walk or drive across the street for some stores. Nice restaurants & Christian historical sites you'd love (specially if you're a Christian under doctrines of grace) to visit at a 'decent' walking distance. It's the type of quiet & peaceful area that your guard can be down, relax & not be uptight about crime or being disrespected in some way (though one should always be on guard to some degree). The only negative I could give it was the refrigerator in our room (my wife & I) was not working properly; very weak. The reason I still gave it 5-Stars is because every other thing was too good to be honest. We even had a "Do not disturb sign" outside our door for 2 days & they were kind enough to leave us a basket filled with toiletries, lotions, towels etc., that just melted my heart. It was my honeymoon, & it was well spent. Exceeded my expectations. read more

Clean, updated rooms, great bathroom with tons of amenities - even makeup wipes! Lots of plump pillows on the bed. We intended to stay here for one night to take our children to Edaville the following day. The location is perfect. Close to Plymouth center and harbour. Lots of restaurants near by. The rooms are clean and the staff knowledgeable. We had to stay an extra night because Edaville was closed due to the weather and Rob at the front desk was super helpful in getting us a good rate for the night and helping us choose what to do with the children. This hotel has made me want to choose Best Western in the future. Breakfasts were also great here. Tea, coffee, juice, waffles, muffins, bagels, eggs, bacon. Lots to choose from. I stayed in the jacuzzi sweet on 5-25-22. The place was clean and cozy. It is walking distance from the beach, stores and restaurants. It has two artificial fireplaces which give off just the right amount of warmth for this time of year. Plenty of windows for fresh air. The jacuzzi king is in a cabin separate from the main hotel for increased privacy. So I felt like I didn't disturb anyone while I played music when enjoying a bath. We rented a room for a week while my husband had business in the area. I tagged along to check out Plymouth and Cape Cod. When we arrived, we were greeted by Wonzel, who spent a lot of time helping us understand local attractions, fun things to do, what was open, what wasn't, and great places to eat. We took some of his recommendations and they were fantastic. Every time we saw him during the visit, he had a sunny smile, a warm greeting and always seemed genuinely interested in making our trip and stay happy. Our room was in the carriage house. It was spacious, comfortable, clean and well-appointed. Whenever we used something (coffee, makeup wipes), it was replaced with more of the same item. (For example, they left us four coffee packs after my husband drank both of the original caffeinated coffees.) The pillows were fantastic. The mattress was firm and comfy. It was quiet and dark and we slept great. We went to bed very early a few nights because of my husband's work the next day, and I didn't hear a peep even with the early bedtime. The continental breakfast has a good mix of hot and cold items. (For example, meat, eggs, bread, pastries, yogurt, waffles.) Food was refreshed regularly, there was ample seating room and everything was fresh and delicious. The ladies who worked the breakfast room were kind and efficient. It's only a short walk to the waterfront. Straight down the road across from the hotel is a nice park with access to the bay, which offers nice places to walk, places to sit and enjoy the view and a park for kids to play. It's only a bit farther to waterfront restaurants and whatnot. My husband asked me to mention the cookies. They have Otis Spunkmeyer cookies out at the front desk and they're delicious. I originally chose this hotel because we've had good experiences at Best Westerns and because it was inexpensive and near where my husband had to work. Now, though, I'll definitely stay again when I want to roam around Cape Cod or Plymouth. read more

This was my second stay here at the Best Western Cold Spring, and I love it. The Cold Spring is a really nice smaller hotel/motel located just outside Downtown Plymouth. The Cold Spring feature rooms located in several buildings spread around a well cared for compound and has really nice landscaping. Rooms in the two story buildings have nice wooden rocking chairs on the porches on the second floor, and the older single story buildings have small table and chairs on their front patios. The property also features a pool, a fitness room, a garden patio, and a breakfast room and lobby in the main building. The rooms are quite large, clean, and have comfortable beds and my room features a nice little recliner. The bathroom was clean, large, with good hot water and decent water pressure. The air conditioning unit is a little on the load side, but that is generally the case for rooms with built in heat/ac units. Being part of Best Western, the Cold Spring offers free breakfast (which was a decent spread of eggs, waffles, along with cereal, yogurt, fruit, and oatmeal) and free wifi. Across the street is a small shopping plaza with a Benny's (a home 5 and Dime store) and a decent Rite Aid. A nice public beach is only about a five minute walk away, while the Mayflower II, Plymouth Rock, and Downtown Plymouth are only about a 15 minute walk away. The whole vibe of the Best Western Cold Spring is of your own New England vacation compound and is extremely homey in the best way. If you decided to visit Plymouth, which I highly recommend on it's own right, I highly highly recommend the Best Western Cold Spring. read more

My husband, myself, and another couple just stayed at the Best Western Cold Spring from Fri-Sun. I was pleasantly surprised. Originally, we were due to stay in the 2 cabins that face Court Street, but they were not yet complete with the renovation. Kevin was great with keeping me up to date on the cabins' progress and when he knew they would not be complete, he put us in what I think to be the next best rooms. We were in room 19, our friends were in room 20. As you can see from my pics, the location was perfect. It was quiet and we enjoyed sitting in the adirondack chairs and talking with our friends each night. Keep in mind, this is not a luxury resort, but is what I believe to be probably one of the nicest motels/hotels closest to Plymouth waterfront. The landscape was impeccable. I was impressed with how clean everything was. The room was a perfect size with a t.v., mini-microwave/mini-fridge, flat screen t.v. desk/chair, free wifi and bath/shower. The only thing I would say is that they could use an air freshener in there. It didn't smell bad, or musty, but a little stuffy and it would've been nice had it smelled a bit better. Fresh Remote Control in the room which I had never seen. Complimentary Breakfast- Breakfast is served from 7am-10am in a small area off the office. If you don't find room in there to eat, they offer patio seating across the way from the breakfast area. We had plenty of room. Everything was very fresh, clean and tasty & the women that worked there were friendly and very busy making sure all was up to par. They offer, Make your own waffles/ English muffins/toast of different kinds/bagels/muffins/danish/sausage/eggs (or 1 day was an egg omlette type thing) salsa/cheese/bananas/delicious fresh fruit/yogurt/granola/oatmeal/coffee/tea/water/juices/hot chocolate. Pool/Fitness area: We didnt' use either, but the pool looked very clean as did the pool area. It is a nice sized pool. No hot tub. Location- This hotel is in a great location. You walk across the street and down another side street to get you to the Plymouth Waterfront. If you don't mind a 5-8 min. walk, it's perfect. It's close enough, yet not right in the center of Plymouth with the hustle and bustle and loud noise. We ate at Waterfront Grill & Bar and it was very good. Nice to sit outside on the top deck. Also recommend Cabby Shack which is right on the waterfront and outside seating available. You must visit Cupcake Charlies too! We will definitely be back. Every staff member we encountered was great! We loved it and had such a great weekend. read more

I just had to say this was one of the Best Motels we stayed at on are trip(10/07/15 to 10/08/15). Mr. Wonzel Mobley who ran the front desk while we where there, was very friendly, and helpful.. There was a lady that had her 90th Birth day there in the breakfast area, and Mr. Mobley gave her some very pretty flowers in a vase on her table .. She was very happy, it touched my wife and my heart... I must add that the breakfast there was awesome, really a true Green eco Motel.. used silverware , real plates.. no plastic or paper plates .. AWFUL service. I booked two nights and last minute only needed one. When I came to check in on the second day, Kevin the manager, let me know that me entire reservation was cancelled because I was a no-show for the day before. They still charged my CC for my no-show night. So here is my issue, while although I'm sure in some fine print area they were in the right to cancel my reservation as a no show, Kevin's smugness and callous treatment was what got to me. There was no apology, so trying to assist for alternative arrangements. At least pretend to care given you are in the hospitality business. I was there for a wedding and they had no regard for this. My only hope is that other guests are treated better!!! Good luck to this establishment if Kevin remains the manager. read more

Could not have asked for a nicer place. Beautiful, very large room with free wifi, micro and fridge. Plenty of room for 4 adults to unpack and stretch out--even a recliner! Plenty of places to lay out luggage, toiletries, etc. The setting is absolutely gorgeous very new England and the buildings are set in a little compound nicely landscaped. Very comfortable beds. Great location very very accomodating, friendly staff--and free hot breakfast. Oh, and the price was amazing even in a peak week in the summer. Why isn't every motel like this? read more

I'm really not sure what is so special about this hotel that makes it a plus. When I called to say I wouldn't be checking in until late they said it was no problem and that they'd see me when I got there. 10pm rolls around and I get there to no one in the office and an envelope taped to the door with my last name. Which I found strange... when I found my way to the room I did my usual "checks" for bedbugs and such. While doing this there was a huge spider in between the sheets of one of my beds. One had a bed bug cover and the other didn't. Seemed silly to waste the money for one if you're not going to cover both. My toilet wouldn't flush at all and the AC honestly didn't blow cool air. It was a very restless night to say the least. Probably won't return unless absolutely desperate. read more

Ummm, wow. We booked this hotel/motel at the last minute for a Friday night stay after taking the kids to Edaville/ThomasLand. I'll admit, the brand gave me pause but the reviews were better than what else was available. We booked a suite since we have three kids. It's a large room with two queens, a tv, mini fridge, large bathroom and an additional sink/mirror combo in the hallway. There is another large side room with a small couch, desk, tv and fridge. The carpet is clean, the beds were well appointed, and the decor inviting. The grounds are well maintained, the pool is all my kids needed, and the breakfast was good too. The touristy area of Plymouth isn't far for older kids and adults who don't mind walking. We drove and parked because my kids are 5,3 and 1. I'm pretty sure they practice walking as slowly as possible. If you're looking for somewhere clean, comfortable and accommodating, book here. The staff were so kind too! read more

Perfect location- can walk to the waterfront area. We had room # 6 and it was vvery quiet, clean and comfortable. The pool was very nice and clean. Breakfast buffet was good and had many choices. My only complaint was the AC in the room didn't get very cold. I set it to 62 and expected it to get very cold but it was only cool at best. : (. It was staying here, that prompted me to create a Yelp account. My wife and I were just there from 8/2- 8/6, and we could not be happier. We were quite surprised at the size of the room, it was clean, the A/C kicked- a$$, and the layout of the property was great. But what really stood out, was the hotel staff, especially Rob. Rob was really friendly and extra-helpful when we first checked in- giving us the scoop on all the sights around the area. He suggested some great restaurants, and really made us feel so welcome, like a life-long friend would. On the second night of our stay, when we returned from the day's activities, we found that our room was erroneously skipped over, for the daily housekeeping. No big deal, we're not hotel snobs, and understand sometimes things happen, and miscommunication probably occurred- one of the housekeepers probably thought the other was doing it, whatever. So when I called the front desk and Rob answered, he was beyond apologetic, and was at our door three minutes later, with a huge basket of fresh towels, hand towels and wash cloths. He even emptied the trash cans. The next day we decided to grab a bite for breakfast- typical breakfast spread- waffle maker, some hot eggs and breakfast meats, cereals, etc. Nothing amazing, but we usually never eat breakfast at where we stay anyway, since there are too many great local restaurants to check out. Before leaving the breakfast room, we realized that we forgot the night before, that we were almost out of toilet paper, as a result of the housekeeping skip-over. So we went to the front desk, and before I could finish explaining that we needed toilet paper because our room was inadvertently skipped, the very friendly man at the desk (whose name I never got) said, "Oh, you're in (our room number) right? Rob called this morning from home, to make sure that your room is first on the list today. We were bowled over- I mean, if that's not going the extra mile... Bottom line- we found our go-to place to stay, whenever we're in Plymouth, MA! Highly recommended. read more

Best Western Cold Springs was nice. It's an older hotel that has been refreshed. Pool is warm but no hot tub, that's a bummer but we knew it when we booked. Room is on the smaller side and the bathroom is really cramped especially if you are traveling with a family. The location is great and easy walkable to the Restaurants and downtown scene. That's a great benefit because parking is a nightmare and costs money. All the staff members were very friendly especially the folks caring for you at breakfast. Breakfast seating is tight downstairs but there is a wonderful patio just across the Parking lot! Breakfast was as expected but the coffee was weak. read more

This motel is more like a vacation"resort"than mere place to stay. This location has been family owned for years and has lots of repeat visitors. The hired staff is informed, friendly, efficient and well supervised. The grounds are beautifully manicured.Guests share a breakfast room which makes it seem as though every one is at a friendly functional (!) family reunion. read more

We booked 2 nights at this Plymouth Best Western location through Priceline Express Deal.. It is a motel-like setting with few rows of double-level units. We were given a lower level unit up the hill. After checking in, my wife noticed a spider on the ceiling. Upon further inspection, we found another one at the door and one on the wall near the bed. I killed all of them. In the morning, complimentary breakfast was not bad. We left the room shortly after 12pm and returned at around 5pm. We noticed a basket of towers at the door and our room was not made. We did take down the Do Not Disturb sign. Upon checking the room, we found a couple more spiders and decided that we couldn't stay another night at this spider infested motel. We checked out at around 5:30pm. The guy at the front desk just said sorry but didn't offer any refund. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Pay a little more for a more reputable hotel. read more

My husband and I would be arriving in Plymouth at midnight and we wanted to stay at a chain motel that would be open for our late check in, which we realized the office had closed but our key was taped to the front door with instructions. The next morning we were greeted by the nicest man at the front desk who pointed us to the best places around Plymouth and gave us a bunch of helpful tips. We stayed for 2 days and our room was clean when we showed up and was cleaned when we were out for our second day. I don't like chain motels but this experience has definitely opened my eyes!! Very Clean, recently renovated rooms. Accommodated our large family with a two room, double queen suite. Best rate in 30 miles. Super quiet with excellent blackout shades and very comfortable beds for a great night's sleep. Everything within Plymouth is less than half a mile from this quiet hotel. Great complimentary breakfast of eggs or omelette with sausage links , fresh fruit salad, waffle makers, yogurt, cereal and coffee. Eat in or take back to your room. We were very busy getting all of us out one day so left the "quiet please" sign on our door. House keeping left a basket of fresh towels and toiletries for us when we returned.
