Well it's my first morning after staying at his B&B and have to say.. Very nice. Sandy was very helpful. When we checked in she had some coupons that saved us a bunch of cash at the Mayflower and mill. She accommodated our food allergy issues. Daughter was entertained with piano and her dog Sandy's dog Maddie. Sandy was flexible on room assignments since we were the only guests this early in the season. Had a nice nap on the balcony overlooking the garden Woke up early and coffee was made. So overall a good experience. read more

This was the perfect place to conclude our stay on the east coast after our son's wedding in upstate New York. The home is absolutely gorgeous with stunning views (with a glimpse of the Atlantic ocean) and surrounding gardens. Christine and her charming sons made sure everything was picture perfect for our relaxing five night stay. Starting with a continental breakfast in the morning on a beautifully set dining table, we chatted with other guests and Christine, who offered suggestions on what to see and where to dine. We always had privacy unless we chose to visit with other guests in the lovely living room. Our room was spacious and well appointed, large enough to spend time reading and relaxing (NEVER even turned on the t.v.)! I truly cannot give enough glowing recommendations for this Bed and Breakfast. It is just beautiful, inside and out! read more

Stayed here for one night on Valentine's Day weekend for a near-from-home mini vacation. The room was big and comfortable, the night was quiet, the host/owner was polite but respected our privacy, the location is ideal (between the view of the bay and being close to good restaurants in town), and the breakfast is substantial and tasty. When we arrived, Christine met us at the door and promptly showed us around. While the house is fairly new construction (1990s), Christine and her sister did a wonderful job procuring a mix of modern and vintage furniture and decorations to make the rooms feel both comfortable and bed-and-breakfast-y. We stayed in the biggest room in the house, which has an terrifically comfy king sized bed, a love seat and TV, tons of extra space, and a large whirlpool tub in the bathroom. The view looks out to the bay, which is a short ways across the street. It was a quiet and comfortable night's sleep, and breakfast in the morning was complete and delicious - we had orange juice and coffee along with scrambled eggs, roasted potatoes, waffles served with a fruit sauce and maple syrup on the side, and a fruit cup with yogurt. We dined with the one other couple who had spent the night, and enjoyed chatting with them and Christine when she came out with our food. She also has a sweet old black lab named Murphy, who made an appearance during breakfast and was very well behaved. Overall a terrific stay! read more

3 Waves Bed & Breakfast - Wintery view of the bay from the king/jacuzzi room - Bed & Breakfast Near Me - Plymouth, Massachusetts

We chose this place because of the views, pics and past reviews about experiences, meeting the owner and of the "great, awesome, gourmet breakfast". We also picked the jacuzzi room because we like to use it when we find a place that has it. No one to greet us and found out about our room by a note on the rear door and had to look for our key. We then found a note saying when the "continental" breakfast will be put out. I told my wife "well maybe that is a misprint" even though on their own website and brochures, they advertise a "gourmet" breakfast. A note by the jacuzzi indicated that no salts or other items can be used because of how it can damage the jets and pipes....ok I can understand that. I wonder why we were not told that when booked it. That would be nice because they charge extra for it. I say that because this if the first place we have been too that restricts its usage. It is not enjoyable to us to use a 'two person' jacuzzi when only using water. Next day, a very minimal "continental" breakfast with only regular coffee put out. There was tea available and decaff through a Kruger. We though we met a staff person who was with "murphy". He did not greet us or ask if we need anything or how the stay was or even if he was a staff member??????? We will not be back again and will tell other people to stay away. read more

We stayed at The Thornton Adams B & B this past December through Christmas. Sandy made certain that everything was just lovely. The historic home was decorated beautifully for the holidays and although we were away from our home, Sandy made sure that we felt very comfortable and welcome in hers. We had our privacy when we wanted it and if there was anything that we needed or wanted to know about we were always made to feel free to ask. My husband, preteen son, and I really appreciated the invitation and accommodations to have tea or coffee during the day or night. The breakfasts were always homemade and deliciously prepared. This B&B is lovely. It has a nice cozy colonial feel to it. The rooms were clean and beautifully decorated, and the bed was one of the comfiest I've ever slept in (seriously, I'm thinking of calling them and asking what type of mattresses they use). My only complaint, if you want to call it that, is that I wish there was a mini refrigerator in the room, or at least an ice bucket so we could keep our water bottles cold. But maybe that's typical of bed and breakfasts. Regardless I would highly recommend Above the Bay! read more

The plan was to stay in Boston, but due to the explosions, we couldn't get into the part of the city we were staying. We made a few phone calls to find an alternative to Boston and discovered Plymouth. We really lucked out to find Thornton Adams, and Sandy, the owner, was so cheerful and helpful. She was willing to take us in, last minute. If that weren't enough, she spent time with us, directing us to places to go. She really really loves this city and had great suggestions! The place itself was so peaceful, quiet, and clean. It felt like being home! The owners were so welcoming and kind, without being overbearing. We had such a restful nights' sleep and the breakfast was AMAZING. This was a great experience-a highlight of our trip. The location is perfect (if you have a car or like long walks into town). It would be a great place to stay to take day trips to Cape Cod and Plymouth itself has a lot of great things to see. I hope to return someday for a longer stay! read more

This was our first experience at this bed and breakfast. Sandy, The host was very accommodating. She knows the area very well and had given us great suggestions on where to eat & where to visit. The home is beautifully decorated, clean and the beds are comfortable. We stayed in the Marni suite. It had beautiful views of the ocean and we also had a jacuzzi tub in our bathroom. Sandy made a very delicious breakfast of Belgium waffles, while others had eggs. We enjoyed talking with Sandy & the other guests. We are from the area & wanted one night to be away from home. sandy really goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and make sure your stay is great. she called and scheduled a walking tour for us of plymouth and gave us directions to everywhere we wanted to go. the rooms were quaint, comfortable and the area was surrounded by beautiful trees with the fall turning the leaves to a redish brown. there's a view of the water from your room (if you get one on that side of the house). it's just down the street from the plantation and just a 5 minute drive to downtown plymouth, the mayflower, the rock and all the restaurants and bars. the overall stay was a 5 out of 5. the breakfast was fantastic and the conversation at breakfast with sandy and the other visitors to the b&b was pleasant and interesting as you can swap stories about places you visited in the prior days and get info on what's worth seeing for yourself. if you plan to stay in this area, you can't go wrong with sandy and her b&b read more

I was in desperate need of a 'solace by the sea' getaway, and "Above the Bay: The Thornton Adams B&B" delivered. It's especially perfect if you're in the Boston area and need a quick vaca without hassle, traffic, or a too-bad-a-dent in the wallet. (Very reasonable, actually.) Ron and Sandy are your innkeepers, and they're awesome. Actually, I only met Sandy, but given how cool Sandy is, I'm sure Ron rocks, too. Sandy has THE PERFECT personality for a B&B: she's fun, lively, conversational--and really wants her guests to have a nice time. Her recommendations to me--restaurants, spots she guessed I'd enjoy (She was right!)--were spot on. That was pretty impressive given that she knew me for all of an hour before making those recommendations. Actually, she gets to know you right away when you call to make the reservation; trust me, you'll feel like you've known her for decades. And her breakfasts are...YUM. She makes sure when possible that you get cranberries (local!) at least somewhere in the breakfast. (Very cool.) Oh, and poundy puppy Angus was the cutest.
