We have called 3 days in a row to speak to a manager but he is never there. We've asked him to call us but he has not. We booked the hotel due to the pool. Upon arrival there was a loud bunch of people in the pool area. The music was really loud and there were open glass liquor bottles around. There was no way we were going in there. Shortly after that we heard yelling and someone saying they were going to call the police. Apparently there as a homeless man wandering around. Yikes. Besides that the room was musty, only 1 of the 3 lights above the sink were working. It was not a great stay. Thank goodness it was only 1 night. read more

BED BUGS & VERY Poor Management Response My husband, our 2-year-old daughter, and I stayed here for a wedding from 9/19-9/21. My sister and her boyfriend stayed in the room across the hall. I'm sharing our direct experience so others can make an informed decision. The first night was uneventful, though our room had a strange smell and didn't feel very clean. We stayed because of the wedding. The night after we checked out, I found multiple bites all over my daughter's back. They became swollen and painful enough that she needed steroids. Around the same time, my sister--who was still in her room--found a live bug. She physically brought it to the front desk, and staff saw it and acknowledged it was a bug. I later noticed I also had several bites on my chest. We immediately began trying to reach the manager, Sanjay. For weeks, neither my sister nor I could get a call back. Staff repeatedly told us he was out of town. I finally reached him well over two weeks later. When we finally spoke, I felt he was dismissive and unprofessional, even when discussing our toddler's medical treatment. He refused a full refund--in fact, we never received any refund at all--despite the situation and the expenses we paid afterward (medical, hot-drying/ruining clothes, and hiring a detection dog to check our home and car). He also asked for my daughter's medical records, which I was not comfortable providing due to privacy. My husband later called, and that conversation also became extremely defensive. The manager claimed the bug my sister brought to the front desk was "a wood chip," even though she had watched it moving and the staff had already seen it and agreed with it being a bed bug. He repeatedly referred to my husband as "your lawyer husband," which came across as rude and unprofessional. I was also told that the health department had been contacted. When I called them myself, I was told they were not and haven't been notified at that time (this was nearly a MONTH later). They eventually checked only the rooms we stayed in--and that was about a month after our stay. When I spoke to Tammy the employee at the desk 3 days later, they had no record of any issue and the room was still open... which is highly concerning. At that point, we refused further direct communication with the manager and worked only through corporate. Even corporate staff expressed they were surprised that a refund hadn't been offered. Instead, we were eventually told we were placed on a "do not stay" list. Honestly, that's fine--after this experience, I would never return. This situation cost our family close to $1,000, not including the stress and worry over our toddler's reaction to the bites. And we never received any refund of any kind. I waited to write this until I had cooled down so I could be clear and factual. I can only speak to our firsthand experience, but based on that experience, I personally would not stay here again and strongly encourage others to use caution. I see another recent review also stated bed bugs were found (and that was not from my sister or her boyfriend), so we are not the only ones experiencing this. Let me tell you this place is wonderful!! Had to check in late night with 3 little kids do to neighbor hotel full of mold!!! We wer tired an felt sick and front desk man was INCREDIBLE! Check in fast honest clean clean room and smells so good! Best hotel around so glad we found this!! read more

Several workers were great, Saniya at breakfast and Emily in the evening were great. The GM was absolutely terrible, disrespectful and rude, as a person that travels all the time this has been the worst experience that I have had at a BW. The front desk lady when we checked in was amazing, no idea her name but she has her own style and love it! She's super sweet!!! The breakfast is good but they advertise dairy free options but don't have any which was a bummer since I'm lactose intolerant. The lady working the breakfast had a see through shirt on Saturday morning and barely came out. Sunday morning she complained that the pancake mix needed to be changed multiple times and the food needed to be refilled. Made people feel bad for eating... overheard multiple people making the comment they now feel self conscious for even eating. The room we had was right next to the stairs and could hear people walk up and down the stairs and the door opening and closing. When people would walk up or down, our walk would shake. We found a dirty sock under the bathroom counter, makes us wonder how well the rooms are cleaned. read more

Room was clean, well-stocked, priced decently. The air conditioner was loud and needed to be set to 66 to get at all cool (this is the reason for knocking off a star -- woke us up every time it kicked on). Friendly front desk person. Rooms are well-insulated, so no noise from other rooms or hallway. read more

The location of the hotel is very good. LOTS of stores nearby in case you forget anything while traveling. The room was clean and there were plenty of towels stocked in the room. The blackout pull down curtain was especially nice. There is no maid service during covid so you will need to bring out any old towels or trash to the hallway daily. Also, the hot tub was broken and awaiting repairs but the indoor pool was nice and seemed to get a lot of action. Breakfast was slightly limited due to covid but I have to say, it was MUCH better than expected. There were individually wrapped breakfast sandwiches daily as well as hardboiled eggs, yogurt, cereals, breads/bagels, muffins, pastries, etc. Coffee, milk, juice as well. read more

Met up there with family and had a marvelous time. Our room was spotlessly clean. The staff was exceedingly amazingly friendly and helpful. The breakfast was also excellent; Hard to decide between the scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, fresh made waffles, fresh made pancakes, biscuits, and gravy, yogurt, parfait, cereal-hot or cold...as my husband says outstanding. I highly recommend staying here. The coffee was fabulous. I should have started with that because usually the coffee is so bitter and burnt tasting I can't even swallow it and have to dump it out. I drank this coffee. I must've had 8 cups in one day. It was wonderful. read more

Booked my room 6 months ahead of my wedding date. A month up to my wedding day, a closer hotel near my wedding venue opened up. I contacted Best Western customer relations line and said the GM should be able to cancel if. After the run around for 2 weeks from them, the GM at the Hudson location said we can't cancel your reservation due to a no refund policy. They made no attempt to make an exception. She was very rude about it and said "it's 2023, people know to read the fine print". I am a rewards member and that didn't matter. Never have I experience such poor customer service especially from a GM! I will never stay at this hotel again. read more

This hotel was clean and convenient for our weekend away. However, their pool was completely over their over 14 people limit all night catering to one large party with their kids. So we were unable to use the facilities. The families continued to socialize and left their kids (about 12 young kids) to run up and down the halls until past 11pm. We brought this to the attention of the staff and nothing was done. Not the best experience. Call in advance to make sure their are no large birthday parties on your weekend for sure and you will have a nice stay. read more

It's my first time here in Hudson Wisconsin. I've been here since Thursday and I am very much happy with their service, cleanliness, and comfort. The room I stayed in was clean, comfortable, and quiet. It is very close to downtown Hudson and local stores. The staff is very friendly. They also have daily complimentary breakfast and their food is pretty good. They didn't disappoint at all! I loved this place so much that next time I come back, I will definitely stay here again. read more

This was a nice hotel to stay at. The breakfast in the morning was good and had plenty of seating. The location is great, as it is right near the interstate and only 5 minutes from Downtown Hudson. I would for sure stay here again if I had to make another trip to Hudson read more

Beautiful hotel, completely renovated. Pool is clean and warm and they have a beautiful jaccuzi too. The breakfast was AMAZING! Best I've ever had, so many choices, even a yogurt machine with fresh fruit for making your own parfait and a pancake machine with so many topping choices! 08/07-08/2021 I organized a bachelorette party here, and when it came to services, it was a fantastic stay. The pool was great, the employees were respectful and polite, and the rooms were clean. But when it came to problem resolving, I was left with disappointment. If you have any value for integrity in the business that you use, consider looking elsewhere. When facing a door handle that was not working right, I walked to the front desk and explained the issue, and although I was met with an apology and being told that the room that we did not use would be refunded. When I looked at my card statements the day after the visit, I saw that I was charged for all 3 rooms that I had rented, including the one said to be refunded. When I called to see where the mistake had happened, I was brushed off and told that the manager was needed for that issue. So after attempting to reach the manager over a series of 3 weeks and 10 different phone calls, I was left accused of lying and just trying to get my money back for the use of a room that worked just fine. Me, being a woman of integrity, very much values integrity from others in return. I will not be staying here in the future and if you value integrity with the business that you use, you should consider staying somewhere else. read more
