This place was pretty good. We were staying to visit family for the holiday. The breakfast was pretty awesome. They had premade to go breakfasts. They had a biscuit, sausage, eggs, bacon, and breakfast potatoes. In another fridge was vanilla yogurt with berries, and granola. Cereal with options of dairy and non-dairy offerings. Apple, and orange juice. Muffins, apples, and bananas. Coffee, and hot chocolate. If you don't get full, shame on you. I was put off that are room was cleaned once during our stay of nine days. Cmon. The room was spacious. We got a killer deal through Priceline. I can't complain too much! read more

Hotel gets a 3 star from me because of the decent breakfast they served for free the next morning (Tuesday) after a terrible night's sleep! Started badly for us as soon as we flushed the toilet in the room as it was clogged? Not from us, but the previous people??? WTH? Then when I called down to the front desk they brought a plunger in a bag that had "crap" still in it! GROSS! Where's the maintenance guy? Isn't this his job? The king-size bed folded up almost to a V when I first sat on the bed. Shower doors didn't close properly spewing water everywhere. The remote control and TV were outdated and older...$20 incidental costs??? The parking lot had trash all over. The bench seat under the car/valet cover had a ditch in front of it...Cigarettes butts are thrown everywhere...With a little bit of effort, this place could be better! On a side note, people have gone crazy about "covid" rules...For 55 years it's the "flu" and if your traveling and don't want to get sick, put a bubble around yourself and protect yourself from awful diseases! I can't wait until they start offering trips to Mars...Maybe there is a better place for some people! We won't stay here again. For the price find a different hotel. - the A/C is takes hours to cool our room off from 80 to 70 (4 hours and it's only dropped 5 degrees) - the hot water faucet leaks. Not into the sink but all over the counter - coffee is weak Nescafé - and the tv's all went down To the good, the tv came back up. read more

From before we ever checked in our experience had been incredible, bed and rooms were clean and crisp, breakfast was delicious but beyond all of that, Dom really went above and beyond, we called three days in advance to our stay and booked however we made a mistake, Dom not only was the person who happen to pick up all three days but also helped change our reservations and walked us through everything we needed to know! Why would I stay at a hotel in my own neighborhood. Cause I am having work done to the house and I do not feel like sleeping on the floor in my own house. And over all Best Westerns have a standard of quality that I enjoy, which feeds into the reason why I tend to stay there. This place does not disappoint. The area is quiet, clean and safe. The only "points off" comment I could make is that to get here it is a bit of a maze to reach the place. Of course, there was a place in Texas that took me through a neighborhood I didn't think I would still have my car as I drove through it. Rooms as clean, nicely appointed. The rooms could use a little more sound insulation, but a call to the front desk usually gains the same effect. Our stay here was pleasant enough to consider this place again if we need to. read more

Clean, easy, convenient. Friendly staff. Basic hotel but has all of the necessities. Room had a very slight odor but otherwise was clean. Only one elevator so did have to wait a bit on that. Walking distance to restaurants and a movie theater, so good location within the town. read more

The 1 star review by J.J. must be a competitor because this hotel AND it's staff was AMAZING. My Husband and I needed a place to stay near Roy and a family member suggested this hotel. I'm a huge hotel snob and the price alone scared me. Only $100 per night led me to believe that it wasn't the nicest hotel. Regardless, we didn't have any other options. I booked the room and prayed that it was decent. We arrived in the early afternoon and long before check-in time. The staff was extremely nice about it and accomodated our early check in. We had pretty quiet evening for New Years Eve and it was generally quiet with the exception for small kids running back an forth! Be cautious when going with small children. We thought it would be fun to have a relaxing night with our family. About 10 total with joined rooms. Swimming and snacks and a very calm night! 11:45 the manager approached our room and pounded on our door as the force of what police typically knock on doors! He did not identify himself and he was in normal civilian clothes on top of being extremely rude. His words and in quote "there ya been multiple complaints about the noise and you need to be quiet now or I will kick you out". If there were multiple complaints then where was a warning at the first complaint! We then put the children in bed and quieted down even more than we were prior. 20 minutes later he was back!! Told us that there were still complaints, however there was also a room 2 doors down that also had a large group. If we received a 3rd complaint he would have no choice but to kick us out at 12:20am while our kids were in bed. I have managed many customer service industries and it was ridiculous how he handled it! I have never felt so angry or disrespected with the service that was provided! Do Not Stay here! Poor and unprofessional! I stay at quite a few hotels and this was by far the worst. Manager was an older gentlemen who was on a power trip! If he had handled it more professionally this review would not be here! Error on caution when booking here with children! read more

I booked the Best Western Plus hotel in Layton UT. VERY DISAPPOINTED! I thought they were supposed to be rated high and exceptionally clean BUT upon checking in, desk people were not wearing masks, there were 4 adults mingling together and 4 kids soaking wet from the pool & no shoes on, standing in lobby blocking entrance and NOT wearing masks, and desk folks did not even acknowledge proper COVID precautions & ask people to mask up nor pay attention to social distancing. Entering the elevator we came upon 2 more people not wearing masks and a huge puddle of water on the floor of the elevator! I pray no one gets sick from this hotel & their staff not practicing safe COVID measures but I have to warn people that even asking people to wear masks at this hotel falls on deaf ears! If it wasn't so late that we checked in, we would have demanded a refund & moved to a different hotel! IF YOU ARE AT ALL CONCERNED ABOUT YOUR SAFETY with COVID precautions in place, I SUGGEST that you do not book this hotel! During these COVID times, it is imperative that public venues such as hotels pay attention to the wellbeing of their guests and this hotel does not care about safety for their guests!!! We had originally reserved our room at the location in Ogden but switched to this location as the Ogden one did not have their pool open. Arren who was working the front desk was quick to reserve us a room and ensure we would have a swift check in upon arrival. He was friendly & very thorough. My last stay at a Best Western was less than awesome. I was skeptical when my wife booked us a few days at the Best Western Plus. Boy was I wrong. Everything was clean. The staff was helpful and professional. After a long journey we hit the room for a nap and it was quiet, the temperature was perfect, the curtains were good at making it dark in the room, and the bed was comfortable. My two suggestions for improvements are very minor: 1- I found the complimentary breakfast to be not awesome. It was fine for something that I didn't pay much for. But with everything else in the building being SO nice, the breakfast could use some sprucing up to be up to snuff with the rest of the experience 2- the elevator is noisy. It dings loudly every time the door opens. Luckily we were far away at the end of the hall so we couldn't hear it, but I would be annoyed if that was my room just across from that loud DING every time the door opens. All in all, I was extremely pleased with the whole experience. I would surely stay here again if I was in the area. read more

I was extremely happy with my stay at this Best Western. My room was very clean and even though I was right by the elevator, the noise was minimal. Breakfast was served free every morning and it wasn't just the typical continental breakfast with fruit and oatmeal. They had eggs, sausage, bacon and waffles as well. Absolutely no complaints for any of the stay. We were originally planning to stay for 21 days while our home was being remodeled. We had to extend 4 times and ended up staying 52 days. The young men at the front desk were courteous, friendly and always helpful. We were treated so well that we felt a little sad to leave and go back home. The large breakfast area offers a variety of choices for everyone. Waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, fresh fruit, yogurt, muffins, coffee, hot chocolate, hot and cold cereals, and juices. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The hotel staff works hard to maintain cleanliness and they were always friendly and helpful with our room care. The hotel itself is in a quiet, clean and safe area. It is near many restaurants, movie theaters and the mall. There is easy freeway access. The Pool and Hot Tub area was great for us and our occasional visiting grandchildren. There were always plenty of clean pool towels available and the pool area was clean and well maintained. There wasn't one negative about our stay of nearly 7 weeks. We will definitely stay here again, even though it is only about 10 miles from our home. read more

But the pool smells and seems to have some sort of heavy chemical in it, because an hour after swimming in the pool my eyes still burn and I can barely see well enough to write this review! Overall I absolutely loved this location. It is SUPER clean and because of it's location it is very quiet. I loved the room and will definitely stay here again! I only have a couple of comments about my stay. First of all when I was checking in, the guy at the front desk wasn't the friendliest, which is fine. He'd just been growled at by the people ahead of me, so I didn't take offense. My biggest thing that bugged me was the parking. Most places I've stayed I've been able to park on at least a couple sides of the building, and enter in the door closest to your room. Not with this location. And I think it only bothered me because it snowed overnight and was still snowing, and was a trek out across the street to my car. Not super convenient, but at least it was free. Wouldn't stop me from staying there again. read more

This hotel is the perfect staging point for any visits to the Layton area! I do not review a lot of places but after staying here, I turned to my wife and said "That hotel was really unexpected and made my stay a great one!" I then read some of the online reviews given by others. If your picky enough to complain about a low ceiling in the pool then don't visit this hotel go somewhere else because when I stop here again i want to be surrounded by guests that appreciate what this business is doing. The staff met every one of my requests. The spa was hot and comfortable every time I needed to thaw out. The parking was a bit tight but I always found a spot to park! Breakfast was included in my stay and had everything I could of wanted and more. I entered breakfast expecting a bagel and coffee maybe after all it is Utah! I found Coffee hot and fresh, Juice orange and apple, waffles regular and blueberry, potato dishes, bacon, sausage, eggs, the list goes on and on! Beds were great, room was clean, none of my gear disappeared out of my room. Keep up the great work guys! read more

Quiet hours not enforced, called the front desk two nights in a row to find the frat party and shut it down. First night, Tuesday, I was told it was noise coming from the pool and that they would go tell them to keep it down. No change to the noise echoing through the building. I stayed here for just one night but was so impressed with it. We arrived at approximately 1 a.m. and found that the front door could only be opened by a key or by picking up the phone so that the attendant can let you in, this feature already made me feel like I chose the right hotel to stay. We were impressed with the front lobby and we were then greeted by an extremely nice gentleman at the front desk. The room was nice, very clean and modern, and the price was unbeatable. Our grandchildren live in Layton and we stay here EVERY time that we come up to see them. They love the pool and the breakfast is great. HOWEVER -- I have a reservation that I made at Hotels.com for a Friday night stay. I called to see if I could switch it to 2 days later on Sunday. They won't do it. The desk clerk lied to me and told me that the reason that they said no was that they are booked. I told him that hotels.com already told me there were rooms available, and that I knew he was a liar. He followed up with "oh, well, I don't know, I just got here, and I haven't talked to anyone at hotels.com." Then don't offer an explanation. We will never stay there again. I will pay more elsewhere if I have to. They actually would have made more money if they let me just change my date, as the price for hotels.com is less than it was for my original day. I despise liars more than idiots but this group has both categories checked. read more

I booked our stay at this hotel after calling first to confirm the hours of the pool, I was told it was opened until 11:00PM, which is the ONLY REASON we decided to stay here amongst the many other options in the area. I knew that we would be arriving late, after a 10 hour drive, and that we would all want to go to the hot-tub to relax. When we arrived at the hotel it was around 8:00PM. None of the exterior lights were on and it made us wonder if the hotel was even opened for business. Later that evening some exterior lights came on, but the parking lot was so dark that we were extremely worried about the belongings in our truck so we parked across the street in the well lit restaurant lot. When I went inside to check in, there was no one at the front desk. I stood at the desk for several minutes and called out for someone to help check me in, it was an extended wait before "Scott" came in from the back office somewhere. We checked into our room (a two queen suite with kitchenette) and began to make dinner for our children with extreme food allergies only to find that the silverware in our kitchen were all still dirty and had food remnants from the many people who had used them before us. There were no cleaning supplies (soap or sponges) available to clean the dirty dishes with so we called the front desk for help; there was never an answer. When we couldn't get "Scott" to answer the phone, my husband went down to the front desk to ask for his assistance. He waited down there for over 10 minutes, ringing the bell and calling out for an employee but NEVER received any assistance. As such, we had to go out to our supplies in our truck and unload a bunch of stuff just to get to some cleaning supplies. Once this whole extended experience of simply trying to heat up some dinner in our "kitchenette" it was nearly 9:45PM so we all headed down to the indoor jacuzzi/pool. We weren't even in the jacuzzi for 5 minutes when "Scott" popped in to tell everyone (my family of four plus another small family) that the pool would be closing soon. We were all surprised by this notice given as we expected the pool area to be opened for at least another hour. We were still in the water when suddenly all of the lights in the pool room turned off, leaving us in darkness except for the dim light coming from the pool. My husband and I were surprised and our youngest son was frightened. Unknowing if there was some type of outage or emergency, we all started getting out of the water and attempted to gather our belongings (in the dark) and safely walk across the VERY SLIPPERY tiled flooring to the exit; ALL THE WHILE IN THE DARK!!! When we got out of the pool area "Scott" was standing in the hall and it became very clear that his way of getting guests out of the pool area is to SHUT THE POOL AREA LIGHTS OFF. I was extremely upset by this careless behavior which exposed my family to possible dangers of drowning or other injury so I headed straight to the room while my husband asked "Scott" why the pool was being closed. His answer was simply to point at a sign in the hall which said the pool closed at 10:00. The next morning we went down to the breakfast "buffet" only to find that there was not a single item offered which didn't contain SOY (an ingredient which would lead to severe anaphylactic shock and even death for my children). Overall this was the absolute worst case of customer service I have ever experienced at a hotel. Employees should not tell prospective guests that their amenities (such as pool hours) are longer than they actually are just to get a reservation and at no point in time EVER should it be acceptable for a hotel to TURN OFF THE LIGHTS IN THE POOL AREA as a method to get them out. In addition, the restrictive pool hours for this hotel make absolutely no sense at all. Why should this pool area close at 10:00pm, especially when another Best Western just a short distance away in Sandy, UT leaves theirs open 24 hours??? We will never stay at this hotel again and certainly would not recommend it to anyone. read more

The hotel was clean and appeared nice. But, the noise level from floor to floor is crazy. I stayed three days and had guests above me that made noise as if the were bouncing a basketball while their larger dog would run around the room. When I heard the dog bark it was followed by a woman's voice. I called the front desk at 11 pm, and was told she would take care of it. It stopped but then about an hour later it started again, so I called. The woman at the front desk told me that the couple upstairs was having sex. Sex? I don't think so, if it were she would be knocked unconscious from her being slammed while the dog ran around. Again told they don't have a dog, but then what about the barking? I wS told it was sex. I asked to change rooms and was told they didn't have any. After another call at 4 am for the same, the front desk now says they have asked them to stop but cannot do anymore, now she offers to move me after being awake most of the night and refusing to move me earlier. Then she told me they were to be checking out that morning so I just tried to sleep another hour. When returning to the hotel the next evening I asked the man at the front desk if the room above me was empty, he replied yes. I explained the night I had and asked if possible to not fill the room, especially since the hotel was empty looking. Thanked him and went upstairs, less than an hour later I heard suitcases being rolled in the room above me. Customer service went out of their way to not accommodate me. Thanks for nothing. read more
