Stayed two nights when in the area. Nice clean room. We were next door to family members and I could hear them. So walls are indeed thin. Plenty of room. Shower had nice water pressure. Parking is underground and $20 a night. We never made it down to the free breakfast but family members indicated that it was underwhelming. Wish they had a better brand of K-cup in the room, not as robust as I prefer. Bed was comfortable. Front desk staff were friendly. Nice being able to take a hot herbal tea back to our room at night, service found in the check in/breakfast area. Sofa was comfy. No pool at this location which was not a problem for us. Overall we would return and recommend. Not LUXURY but definitely Best Western Plus priced and expectations were met. read more

If you are taking a family do not go. We had a family of 5 and the rooms are so tiny. The bathroom is right next to one of the beds, you can take a poop and touch the person the bed, way too small and the room is very basic, needs major updates. Spend the extra money and go somewhere else that can fit 5. Also, the breakfast is very basic and not fresh, the servers did not replenish the food and when the time was to clean they broke down immediately, taking dishes out of guests hands to basically get out. Not a fun experience so we left and found another hotel. Huge mistake and we tried to save money. read more

Room has everything you need, the property is very pretty, a decent walk to the beach, and the staff is friendly. Reason for 2 stars is that I have traveled all around the world and have stayed in hundreds of hotels...this is easily the loudest hotel I have ever stayed at. Our upstairs neighbors sound like they're doing a tribal dance and slamming doors every 5mins throughout the night and early morning, not to mention they kept blaring music...People passing by the room of all hours of the night being very loud. People pushing very loud bag carts passed our rooms and you can hear loud bikes drive by (we're on the far end away from the street so I can only imagine how loud it is on the near side). The reason I gave 2 stairs instead of 1 is I didn't complain to staff about the noise...I don't like to complain in fear of they will be rude to us or make our stay worse (rule for anywhere I stay, not just here). And the property and location is great so that deserves something at least. read more

We usually stay at another chain hotel, but in Manhattan Beach we really like this area. Lots of shopping and restaurants are close by. That being said, I've stayed at this BW several times and would recommend it for a short stay. It's hit and miss. Hits *Front desk staff friendliness *Tasty breakfast included in the rate, with plenty of hot options *King room suite is perfect for a couple or small family *Location, short drive to Target, Trader Joes and Whole Foods *Underground parking - I've stayed at many hotels at this price point in Manhattan Beach. While the underground parking isn't completely secure, I felt better about it than a competitor down the street where we parked in a gated, open air lot this summer and spotted transients casing cars in said lot during broad daylight. *Hotel was not being picketed by striking hotel workers Misses *Quiet rooms face the courtyard~ Um not always. Getting a good night's sleep is only luck as you never know what will check in next door. Night one we checked in at 12:30am and at 1:30am, we heard furniture being moved above us. We were on floor 2. Night 2 was perfect. After the 3rd night we were woken at 6am to young children screaming next door. We saw that there were 4 young children and 3 adults vacating the room. Stayed here for one night and it was not disappointing. The check-in was easy and fast. Our room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom seemed remodeled and can use a little work. The noise from the street seemed a little loud but bearable. The continental breakfast was pretty good with lots of options. Would stay here again if in the area. read more

We stayed here while visiting Manhattan Beach. It's generally a clean and well-maintained hotel. It's great that they have one bedroom with a kitchenette and common area -- great for small families. The breakfast is mediocre with basic stuff: milk, cereal, fruit, and yogurt. I think there are some overprocessed muffins there too. The property is on a major street, so the units facing the street can be quite loud (1 star off). After checking into our room, we asked to move to a different unit because of the street noise. The gal at the front desk at first told us there isn't any available, then told us there was. After we moved our things to the second unit and unpacked, we got into bed. The front desk gal called our room and told us that she couldn't figure out how to change the billing in the computer system to the second unit, so we need to move back to the first unit! The units are identical, so I don't know why it matters. I have never been told to change hotel rooms after we are already sleeping (1 star off). We told her this is an administrative issue, and shouldn't warrant us changing rooms again in the middle of the night. The experience with the front desk staff made the stay less than pleasant...I need my sleep. read more

I stayed at this hotel for two nights back in July. It's a nice hotel. I booked a room with a queen size bed. It was really quiet and the location is ideal if you want to explore Manhattan Beach. The room is smaller than other Best Western Plus hotels that I've been to in the area, but it was nice and clean when I arrived nonetheless. Housekeeping was only by request because of Covid-19. What I liked the most is that Target, Ralph's, and Whole Foods are all nearby. They also have DirecTV as their cable TV provider. But what I disliked about the hotel was my experience on the second night. On the second night, after midnight, there was a female guest who was knocking on the doors of other guests joking around that she was room service. A guest like that could happen anywhere, but for a hotel in Manhattan Beach, I was creeped out. Overall, this is a comfortable and accommodating hotel. Just be warned of the possible guests you might encounter during your stay. read more

This mid level hotels fail. All kind of dubious behavior through the night. The management is not available. The lobby locks the doors and treats you with less regard. No security. One of the elevations had a man on the floor, passed out from whatever and soiled. I brought it to the attention of the staff and yeah, they said yeah, ok. I'm still trying to understand the "plus" after Best Western. Stayed at two different locations but same attitude. If you're in the mood for a low level experience, stay here. Excellent hotel and worth the price! We were 3 of us visiting LA, and the hotels near Hollywood and the airport seemed pricey with the parking. We decided to book further out and a suite here suited us justed fine. The room was great for the price we paid! Very clean with a large king bed that could easily sleep 3 and a comfortable pull out sofa bed for one. All rooms were spacious and 3 of us never felt cramped. The lobby outside is quite nice too with an evening fire. Service was great and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was a good spread and parking underground is free. The hotel is about 20 mins away from the airport. If you're one a budget, yet want a good room to stay in with great service and are a group of 3-4, do book this hotel! read more

I am usually a fan of Best Western's, but this location was terrible. When I walked into the room I was hit by the smell of cigarettes and Marijuana, a smell that didn't go away the whole stay there. The room itself was also dirty with what looked like leaves and other debris from outside all over the carpet. You could hear people moving about and doors slamming at all hours of the night. Breakfast was a let down with only two choices of fruit and only one main dish. I expected a lot better, especially for the price. read more

Overall, we had a great stay at this hotel. While looking, I had a long list of what I wanted in a hotel especially during COVID. I travelled with my husband and two young kids and so wanted to ensure that 1) we were in a safe neighborhood and were walking distance from shops, 2) not busy, 3) great reviews on yelp, trip advisor, etc, 4) larger room and because of COVID 5) enforced mask use and had safety cleaning protocols, 6) didn't require an elevator to get to our room, 7) didn't require we walk through a lobby and 8) front door to our room was outside to eliminate being near others as much as possible. All were met with this hotel except #7, however the lobby was pretty spacious and so I felt safe. Our room was on the first floor, however we sacrificed having a window facing the street and natural sunlight, nbd. The room and property was very clean. We did bring wipes to sanitize high touch areas, but overall felt like they did a good job cleaning. Customer service was very friendly. Parking is underground at $10 and there was plenty of parking even when the hotel was full. There is an elevator to the hotel lobby, however we always used the stairs (in case you wanted to avoid elevators like myself). Due to COVID, there is no buffet breakfast, but they have a list of items you can choose from at the front desk. Frozen breakfast sandwiches, organic juice, cheese and nut packets, granola bars, Danishes. The hotel is walking distance to lots of shopping. The beach was about a mile away. Not ideal with kids, however parking at Manhattan Beach is plenty and inexpensive and the next day we even found free residential parking. If covid is a concern, they have enforcer officers walking around making sure you're wearing a mask in high walking traffic areas. The reason why i'm giving it a 4 is that the beds were the worst ever! We stayed multiple days and we all had trouble sleeping. Unless you like your bed very soft or sleep is important, I would recommend staying elsewhere. read more

The room was a good size and very clean. My only complaint is that the location of the room had pretty much no natural light (the windows opened into a dark hallway) but that's not a big deal. The breakfast was yummy. They had happy hour every night with beer and wine for free which was really great. They also have a coffee bar open 24 hours which is amazing!! Their outdoor seating area was also really nice and they had fire pits which made for a cozy night sipping wine by the fire. The staff was also very nice! Overall I would recommend this place, just make sure you get a room with a better view than room 114 :) read more

Why not add that into your price instead of telling people when they are at the window? Manager waved my first week and I set up a booking for the following week and when I showed up again the parking was on there and they would not take it off so I walked out. Having never stayed at a Best Western establishment before, my expectations were pretty low going in. But this place more than exceeded my expectations in every way. Pros: 1. A convenient cab ride from LAX Airport--even in the middle of rush hour. 2. Front desk staff was friendly and welcoming. 3. Rooms are clean, well-appointed, and best of all -- all-suite. So you get a ton of space for a great price. 4. There's free breakfast in the mornings and a free welcome reception at nights. 5. It's within walking distance (up to 1 mile) to great restaurants and stores. 6. Best Western's Rewards Club lets you choose whether you want to get your points in their program, or as airline miles on your preferred carrier. Cons: 1. The rooms all face an interior courtyard. On the night I stayed, a huge group of like 65 European foreigners had commandeered that courtyard and were out there until late at night talking. You could hear them from inside the room. I contemplated calling the front desk to complain, but was eventually able to fall asleep -- despite the noise. 2. Can't think of anything else. :-) In short, this is a great hotel at a great price. We arrived to be greeted by Brent. The BEST check in we ever experienced. Brent is genuine, polite, courteous and he is extremely KNOWLEDGEABLE of the hotel and surrounding area. This location is a very nice part of California and felt safe. This BW was recently renovated and is well maintained. We stayed in a King suite. The living and kitchen area felt spacious. Some parts of room had older features but it is clearly immaculate and a very pleasant room. Fresh paint, porcelain tile, new rugs clearly make this room bright. Beautiful white shutters instead of curtains was a great feature. Air conditioning worked great and goes on and cools immediately!! The kitchen was a full service kitchen including an oven and dishwasher! The bed and pillows very comfortable. The kitchen counter serves as a very spacious desk area with plenty of plug ins. WiFi worked great. Bathroom had door separating sink area from toilet/tub area. They offer FREE parking located under hotel with elevator. Breakfast was included and had everything; eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, fruit, waffles, juices and so much more. Coffee in lobby available 24/7. I saw fruit and newspapers in the lobby. Very nice outdoor sitting area. Directly across the street was a food market and bagel store. Plenty of shopping in the area and Manhattan Beach down the street. They have a nice room service menu too. Would stay here again in a heart beat! Tip: ask for a room not facing Sepulveda Blvd because there is traffic noise certain times of the day. read more

We've stayed here twice now. In August we stayed for five nights. We had reason to return in late September so we booked another two nights at the same hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We like having the mini-kitchen and seating area. There are usually four of us (sometimes 5) and it is nice to be able to spread out a bit more than you can in a standard room. Parking is available beneath the building and is free. There is breakfast every morning (usually crowded) and complimentary coffee bar 24/7--this was awesome for myself and one of my teens. We hit the coffee bar probably twice a day. The only negative is the courtyard. It is gorgeous and we enjoy sitting in it in the evening. But on our last visit, on a Saturday night--there was a crowd of people out there until late--being very loud. It was like a party was going on. The courtyard echoes and carries sound so we had to sit and listen to this loud party until after midnight. But the customer service is outstanding. It is the reason we decided to stay here on our second visit and the reason we'll probably return. We have reason to be in the area a few times a year so it is nice to have somewhere we know and like to stay. read more

We booked a reservation for a king suite through booking.com. We chose the hotel specifically for the price and the king sized bed. We arrived, were greeted very nicely, given our keys and we went up to the room. We went inside and it had a queen bed. I went downstairs and let him know that we had booked a king bed but were in a queen. He said there were no king suites available- but why weren't we told this as we checked in? I understand we booked through a third party but it would have been nice to be informed our room had been changed, prior to the surprise when we entered. Seemed a little sneaky.. Otherwise the hotel was very nice, clean, and quiet. Just be careful about what you book as you may not receive it. read more

Needed a place to crash one night with family, paid around $153 for a labor day weekend sat night well in advance for this place. Tried to checkin at 5pm, room wasnt ready for an additional 20 min, thats bizarre. But it was nice chillin in the patio/courtyard with comfy seats and couches/beds. Given 3 bottled waters and 2 cookies upon check-in, thanks. The room is a bit awkward where everything is but its clean and efficient. Fridge, sink, micro included. A loud outdated A/C that makes a lotta noise and terrible mattresses on the bed and the pull out my only complaints. Or else room was relatively quiet mind the dippyshits roaming around drunk past midnight (only twice not bad) The breakfast by no means delicious but it is significantly better than other best westerns in terms of variety. Sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, salsa, shredded cheese. Waffle maker, various fruits cereals yogurts and muffins/breads etc. Basically as good as a "free" breakfast can be. Space is tight, so much that some dumbfuck woman hit my sons hot coffee cup and it spilled on his arm and leg. People are, in general stupid. You put people cramped in small spaces they have even less of a clue as to surroundings. Be aware. Wifi was so-so, the parking underground. It is exactly 1.5 miles from the pier, took me 18 minutes in the morning with a brisk walk. Normal/casual walk 25-30 minutes. Self serve coffee machine that has starbucks stickers but is stocked with coffee bean bags underneath. Thumbs up overall ok place to stay if you want to spend 2 days at manhattan/hermosa, and 1 night. Toyota dealership across the street if you wanna come back in a new car. read more

From the moment we walked in we were really impressed with the wonderful customer service! We arrived late, greeted by TJ who was so helpful and friendly. Our whole stay all the staff was amazing!! The room, all the areas of the hotel are clean and nice, a lot of things appear to have been updated. The breakfast was very nice! The coffee machine is a must see and try :) available all day not only for breakfast. To add to that they also had a cocktail time (complimentary, I know pretty nice) includes appetizers (which was more like dinner) and drinks (including wine and beer). I appreciated the very friendly, accommodating staff at this hotel. I was warmly received and the front desk clerk helped me when I was concerned about my room. The single queen room I was assigned was clean, looked to be fairly recently remodeled, and the bed was comfortable. My only issue with it was privacy - the only windows were facing right onto a walkway, and there were only shutters and not curtains. This meant I could either get natural light or have privacy, but not both. The staff offered me two other room choices (which I appreciate) but they each had the same issue. My advice to you is to call ahead and ask about the room you're booking. The layout of the hotel is odd because the rooms center around an atrium, which is like an echo chamber. read more

This hotel was the worst I have been to in a while, even during Covid pandemic. Upon arrival, the elevator was broke, so we had to haul all our stuff up four floors from the garage. Next, EV charging was broken, so I was unable to use for charging my car - should have been informed in some way. Vending machine wouldn't take any dollars, so that was broken. The "store" was almost halfway empty - looks like it wasn't stocked in some time. The "grab and go" breakfast had frozen sausage croissant and English muffin.....kind of hard to go anywhere eating that. Finally the checkin front desk person was nice enough, but pretty unsympathetic to our wants. read more

It has all the amenities of an extended stay w a HUGE selection of breakfast items that they serve daily. Their house coffee is from COFFEE BEAN, no less! This alone won me over as it reflects quality hospitality throughout our stay. We did some laundry which helped tremendously in keeping our clothes fresh! Great stay at the Best Western Plus. This is an absolute great and convenient place to stay. The hotel is located on a main road, about 1 mile away from a pretty mall with many options for a nice breakfast, lunch or dinner. Shopping right around the corner. The rooms are spacious, pretty new and sparkling clean. The complimentary breakfast delicious with all you can think of. The lady at the front desk was very helpful and well organized. We got free water at our arrival and again when we checked out. A free grab and go breakfast for those in a hurry is complimentary. Just ask the front desk. Parking was easy in the free parking garage right under the hotel. They even had a spacious patio with a modern fire pit and seating areas. I can highly recommend this place and would definitely stay there again when I get the chance. Did I mention that they had beautiful flowers planted along the hotel? I had a great experience at the hotel until I got home and realized someone had spilled bleach on two of my nicer shirts. I'm guessing a maid got overzealous and splashed my clothes with bleach when she was cleaning. We don't use bleach at home so it definitely wasn't us. $90 worth of shirts are toast.
