My experience here was marginal. I would stay again if in the area and pinching pennies was my main priority. Otherwise, there are better options all over the Southland including other Hampton Inns. My review is coming from the perspective of a Hilton Honors Lifetime Diamond member. I stay in plenty of Hampton Inns around the US and even some around the globe. I recognize that it is in the budget arm of the Hilton brand portfolio and when I stay at a Hampton Inn, I am not expecting high-end, luxury amenities, personal services, or public spaces with artwork. I am looking for a reasonable price for the area market, a safe and clean stay, and casual but professional staff interactions. The 2 features I like about this hotel are the free self-parking and the overall cost for the local market. Almost all other hotels in and around this area (within 10 miles of LAX) charge some parking fee which this property does not. Also, the room price was not dirt cheap but was among the lowest of the other area hotels of similar comfort levels. While it is hard to not like that, I came away from my first stay here with an understanding that you get what you pay for. It is in an odd location, just off of the freeway and jammed into some open ground abutting 60 mph traffic. Just be aware that it is not really sound-proofed so freeway noise is going to be present. Also, the desk staff seems to have been called up from the bush-league. Like most hotels, guaranteed check in is at 3p. I happened to arrive early at 1:30p to an empty parking lot and a quiet lobby and thought the likelihood of me getting into a room early might be high. The desk agent did not look up at me standing at his desk until I intentionally made some noise and then instead of greeting me like a guest, he asked what I wanted as if I was interrupting him. I told him my name on the reservation and asked if I might check in early. He told me no immediately without even checking if there were rooms available. I have done this enough to know that it is sometimes helpful for the front desk to check to see if there were rooms available early and so I asked if he would check and he told me he knew that there were none. When I asked if he knew if any would be available early, he told there would not be any available until 3p and that they would text me if something opened up. I left a little annoyed because I felt like I had been blown off and I started driving away to look for somewhere to grab a late lunch. I received a text 8 min later that a room was now ready. When I got back to the hotel to ask about it, he acted like he had no idea who I was as he was checking me in. I thought it was odd when I had to ask if I could have a bottle of water which is a benefit I get for being a Diamond member. He gave me one but would not have had I not asked and I never received any acknowledgement of loyalty. I never really expect that anyway but I find it nice when a hotel staff will welcome me as a guest based on that. It just shows that they spent some time paying attention to caring about their customer base. The hotel was clean but clearly old and in need of a refresh. There is a lot of chipped paint in the public spaces. In the end, I got a bed, a parking space, did not get robbed, and did not see bed bugs. But I also got zero in terms of polite and professional service, no loyalty recognition, and no warm and fuzzy endearment to want to stay here again. read more

Room 219 smells like wet moldy carpet. Theres is a constant sticky smell that wont go away. Once the water in the shower gets hot it wont go back cold. You have to turn it completely off to rest it, then turn it back on. There is also no restaurant or bar onsite you have to leave if you get hungry or thirsty. Would never stay here again. read more

Decent hotel in the Carson area. Main reason we are staying here is for a cruise sailing out the next day. Would i recommend staying here, yes and no, there's always positives and negatives about hotels. Positives: Front Desk was helpful, room was clean, and parking is ample. My main negative is breakfast. Idk if it's due to the space they have for it, but it was more than lackluster compared to our last stay at a hampton inn. Hotel is clean, it's older and right off of the highway. Bed is comfortable and the hotel itself was quiet at night. Out here for the night on a business trip and did see one young guy puking in the parking lot so I wasn't excited for the evening. The road noise is very excessive but I also live in rural MN and hotel where I usually travel just aren't in loud areas like this. If you're used to that as a road noise thing it's going to be comforting. My real rating is shower and bathroom. I'm 6'2" and for whatever reason most shower heads when I travel are under 6' and it bugs me. This is a nice tall shower head that is also adjustable for head type. Shower itself also has attached conditioner, body wash and shampoo. I like that. Bathroom is also large and spacious. If I were out here again I'd stay read more

This hotel was just ok. There was free breakfast but it wasn't anything great, regular hotel breakfast; cereal, eggs, waffles and bread. The outside looked nice a bit renovated but the inside was not appealing to the eye. The rooms were okay, bathroom did the job. The biggest thing that made the experience less than good was the ants on the bed, walls and tables. The pictures don't even show 10% of the ants I saw, I woke up with bites on my legs. There is better hotels by Hilton and would recommend putting in the extra dollars for a better experience. read more

Don't book an advance non-refundable reservation they will gie you the BIG TIME RUN-AROUND, if you try to modify the reservation. I tried to modify my arrival date from a Monday to a Wenesday of the same week. All I wanted was to apply my payment as a credit toward the new date. I can understand, but they would still get the revenue during the same week. Three phone calls later I am hoping to speak with an Advanced Booking Specialist, but still getting the run-around. Stayed here the other night and it was a decent experience. Reservation was seamless via the Hilton website. Contactless check-in was available 24-48 hours prior to arrival with the ability to upgrade the room and/or choose my own room. Hotel is right in front of the 91 freeway. Picked a room away from the freeway and freeway noise was minimal. Staff at the front desk were all wearing masks covering their nose and mouth along with a plexiglass for safety. There was also a security officer in front of the property. The digital key via the Hilton app was convenient. There was a Lysol wipe station in front of the front desk. The window in my room was able to open and I was also able to turn on the fan from the HVAC to circulate the air in the room. Lighting in the room at night was on the dimmer side, making it difficult to read at night. The bathroom was in good working order with relatively newer, albeit thinner towels. Mini soaps and shampoos were available on the counter. Water pressure in the shower was good. The mattress itself was comfortable although on the softer side. The TV had a limited selection of channels, mainly local. The mini fridge and microwave were helpful additions to the room. Both Wifi and Parking were free! Stayed here for one night to fulfill my Hilton Diamond points as it was the closest to my area. Did not expect too much, which was the case This is an older location but they have somewhat upkept the property. A lot of the fixtures are older , and the baseboards/ edges are wearing down in the bathrooms. Bathrooms are in working order and i did not experience slow drain. TVs are small. Walls are thin and you can hear the TV next door if it is loud. Hotel right next to the 91 freeway so you may hear some noise. When i checked in I saw some questionable characters outside. Try to park as close to front of hotel as possible. Hotel is nearby / walking distance to Cal State Dominguez Hills and Dignity Health Park arena (formerly Home Depot center). The most pleasant experience of my stay was the front desk check in. I checked in Wednesday 3/29/23 , at around 3:30/4pm. Kudos to the friendly and pleasant lady who checked me in. This was the most enjoyable check in I have had. This lady deserves a raise. Please acknowledge and commend her if you can, this is probably one of your most valuable member of your staff! read more

I stayed here for one night and it was great. The place was modern, clean, and up to standards. The only feedback I would give is that the receptionists could be a little more professional and dare I say... even friendly? I had forgotten my room number upon check out and the young lady did not seem to know how to look it up via last name, she finally did but just found it odd that it took a while. The staff and security. The females that works the desk during the day is rude and snobby. She does not give you any of the rules or policies when you check in. Then the female that takes over at night is nosey and likes to nit pick at everything. Now not knowing the policy about animals I was told to register my pet in the middle of the night and pay $50. Again wasn't aware of the policy on pets. I paid the fee and went back to my room . A hour later front desk calls my room again. This is all after 2 a. M. Their security is VERY RUDE DISRESPECTFUL AND UNPROFESSIONAL. First he tells my 14 yr old that he doesn't want to babysit her all day. I didn't know the security is also in child care. After that he got in my nephews face telling him he gets off at 10 pm and he could give 2 fucks about that job. This all behind a side exit door that says door is locked between 10 pm and 8 am. We reported it to front desk and the man working the night shift 11/23 wanted to argue and say that the hot tub was fine, without going out to verify. He then reassured us he would have someone look at it. We left for awhile, came back and asked again and he said the hot tub was fine. We go check and it's freezing cold. I go BACK and report it AGAIN and he says "oh, well you just need to turn it on". I inquire as to how we do that and commented that it would then take hours to heat back up and he sends someone out to show us how to "turn it on". The maintenance guy comes out and turns the knobs on the jets. Lo and behold, they don't work. He then feels the water and shockingly discovers that it's freezing cold! Wow! Had they listened to us the first time instead of blowing us off, it may have ACTUALLY gotten fixed. This is the second Hilton or Hilton offspring I've stayed at in the last week with no working hot tub... I've had better experiences at motel 6. Get it together Hilton/Hampton. read more

I stayed here earlier this year. All was good except for the shower. Water temp was lukewarm. I didn't give it much thought until today. I woke up hoping to enjoy a nice hot shower. Nope. Lukewarm at best again. A very disappointing way to start my day. Now I suspect water temp is set low in attempt to lower heating and waters expense and shorten shower times. Stayed here for the Ruby 7's tournament at Dignity Health Sports Park and it was ok/good. They offer free breakfast here but I didn't partake in any of it because I'm picky when it comes to breakfast. They had a really nice set-up for breakfast with eggs, sausage, bacon a waffle station, fruits and oatmeal and I think cereal. It's kind of walking distance from the stadium, but it was so cold and rainy last weekend we just drove there, but I did see people walking to the stadium and cutting through lot 10 to the entrance. A lot of people staying here were also fellow rugby fans this past weekend and no weird characters. They allow dogs for a fee and we had our dog over with no issues. Parking is free and there's a decent sized lot that wraps around the hotel. There's a Starbucks on the same street which was also convenient. I would stay here again for the Rugby 7's or just to be close to Dignity Health Sports Park. It's nothing fancy but I was able to sleep really well on their beds and the shower drains work great and the shower pressure is strong. read more

I was so disappointed in this hotel. I am a Hilton Diamond member and am 100% loyal to the brand. This is not a good Hampton Inn! I stayed here for one night (thankfully) because of the location. I had a business meeting early the next morning and I wanted to be as close as possible to avoid a long drive in rush hour traffic. This is basically a "roadside motel" that's located right next to a very, very busy highway. I checked in and the front desk staff seemed incompetent. The two women were more interested in joking around with each other than assisting the line of customers in the lobby. When it was finally my turn, I was surprised that none of my Diamond benefits were delivered. No free bottle of water, no room upgrade. In fact, I was assigned THE worst room in the entire hotel! It was on a lower level right by the road. The road noise bothered me all night long. Light sleepers, beware. Even worse, there was a ton of construction taking place on the exterior of the property. I get wanted to upgrade your hotel, but the construction work started very early and was super loud. No mention of this was made when I booked nor when I checked in. The room itself was nice and recently renovated, but not perfect. There were only two very thin towels in our room and when I called down to request more, it was promised but ignored (same thing about my bottles of water). Service is a big issue here, and I would not return to this property in the future. read more

Stayed here twice. Enjoyed staying on the first floor cause it's so convenient. Parking was perfect as we never parked in the back area cause it looks sketchy. At night the front parking area can can a lil over crowded to where u have to park a lil away. They have blow dryer and a ice machine. Breakfast was good and their unlimited coffee and hot tea is another great perk. Didn't use the pool but I saw kids swimming on both stays. Not much towels left in room so asking the front desk wasn't a problem. They have security which is good in the night time. Close to the 91 and everywhere we have to go nearby. I was in town for a funeral and this was the hotel that my family chose to stay at for various reasons. Nonetheless, I drove 6 hours from Sacramento and arrived at the hotel at 10am... as I am quite aware that nowadays hotels won't check you in until 3 pm (which technically cuts hours out your stay considering they charge you for one day and want you to check out by 11am. Corporate robbery!) Nonetheless I was hoping to be accommodated somewhat earlier. When I arrived, "Isabell" (wasn't wearing a name tag but said that was her name) barely gave me eye contact shared that although my room was prepaid she couldn't check me in and for me to come back at noon. I went to breakfast and returned at noon and was then told by Isabell to wait on the couch with another lady. Well we waited for two hours and Isabell checked us in at 2pm...she also made it clear that she was doing me a favor...I was being checked early because it was 2pm and 3 pm. All the while not giving the eye contact she gave the lady that was waiting with me. (Maybe it was because she spoke Spanish like her. Nonetheless I felt singled out.) Gee thanks. As an Hilton Honors member and considering several family members were patronizing the place to attend a funeral, I was hoping for some exceptions o the rule maybe a 12 pm checkin. Was that too much to ask? I guess so. The security, which appeared to be actual policemen, takes pictures and videos of cars coming and going from the premises which I wasn't sure if I should feel safe or be scared. The room was ok, a little dated but everything was in working order. The hallways were a little noisy at times. The complimentary breakfast was not good, even the bagels were stale. Making your own waffles, yogurt, cold cereal and coffee are the way to go if you aren't wanting to starve. The pool and hot tub was closed "until further notice " and the gym was based on appointment (which no one mentioned at check in)...only one person at a time can use it and wasn't well stocked with towels. Most the employees were nice and service for requesting extra towels was quick. Outside of Isabell there were other employees that were professional and friendly. Overall, if you just need a place to rest it's ok but don't expect anything more. read more

I love Hampton in and always look to stay at a location whenever possible; being in LA for a week, this location was perfect for my needs and really central to all the places I needed to be at. Upon checking in, I always get a couple bottles of water for being a Silver Member, but the young lady referred me to the complimentary ice water which surprised me; I didn't get into it with her but know that this was the first time I was told this. The breakfast selections here primarily their egg choices didn't taste good to me; on most of the days, they added cheese and not everyone want cheese in their eggs; PLUS both chaffing dishes weren't hot enough...hot food served cold is just horrible. Our rooms were such that the closet was next to the far bed by the window, so it was super inconvenient for me to hang my clothes being that I had the other bed. Last thing that was insane...there were no outlets in the center night table or stand...only a clock what showed the wrong time and 2 lights. This was unacceptable to me and just poor on whomever is overlooking the rooms. Definitely not one of my favorite Hampton properties I've stayed at. read more

Hotel right off the 91 freeway. I was able to stay here during the COVID-19 pandemic. Because of that the gym and pool were closed. Overall, it was a very pleasant hotel. The staff members were very kind and attentive. The security guard in the front was so friendly and always went out of their way to open the door for you. The hotel room had everything I needed: a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker. I highly recommend this affordable hotel to anyone. read more

Disappointed. Once I checked in (requested high floor), was given a room on the second of 5 floors. I was then told breakfast was from 6:30 to 10am, AND masks were required. Some of the staff was wearing masks at check-in, but definitely not all. Also no water or snacks given for being a Diamond member. Room was clean, so no complaints there. Breakfast was minimal to say the least, and of the mask mandate was enforced. They also had no coffee at the breakfast area, just a sign saying sorry for the inconvenience. The downsides with staying here is the front desk customer service is underwhelming because they take their time to check you in. They also charge a $50 room deposit at check in, and also force you to move to a different room if you stay longer than one night. The TV remote is also frustrating to use and the breakfast was unappetizing because it compromised of stinking boiled eggs. Finally, the fridge is not suited for frozen stuff or storing things at very cold temperatures. Other than the above weaknesses the hotel is clean and mostly quiet. It is fully equipped with standard appliances like microwave, fridge, coffee maker hair dryer, alarm clock, iron as well as ironing board. The surrounding area is decent and smart with very little foot traffic so you get a sense of security. There are also lots of restaurants such as Carl's Jr., Del Taco, Fat Burger, Panda Express and so on within walking distance. This is a nice place to stay in Carson. It is pretty close to everything that you may need. The breakfast is actually pretty good too. The only problem is that the night time security guard is not a nice person. He is actually pretty rude. I've tried to speak to him twice and he just looks at you like "don't speak to me" the last time I spoke to him I said " good evening" and he didn't even look at me, let alone speak. Jerk! read more

This property is older, and would benefit from some tlc and updating. It is situated next to freeways and roads, so you can hear all the outside noise. It was very difficult to sleep through the night. The room windows are not soundproof. The windows are also sliders so they let in the outside draft. The rooms are so-so. Bathrooms do not have a vent, so all the steam from the shower accumulates until you air it out by opening the bathroom door. Pink mold hidden by white paint in the shower. I did not experience bed bugs, but I witnessed ants. Video shows 3 that I found. Beds are very uncomfortable as they provided no support. Pillows were too soft and basically flattened by any weight on them. All fixtures were also outdated but not a big issue. Location is not in the best area, making me feel on edge. Parking lot had some questionable activity going on. I didn't have much interaction with staff. I would not choose to stay at this property again. We stayed here a year ago and had a great experience .... We planned a huge trip and wanted to stay here again , this is where the biggest mistake was . On the day of our arrival the lady at the front desk (seemed young and had an I don't care attitude) was rude and did not want to even try and help us check in , when asked to see if there was any room ready she simply replied no, didn't check and didn't even try . I asked her to please check and then replies with we don't do that here , we put all of our luggage back and decided to go out and eat and then come back . While doing so I tried checking in on the app on my phone to see if there was no rooms available , I checked in and shortly after I get a notification that we are ready to check in to room 301. So the lady at the counter couldn't check me in but the system gave me a room to check into ? After we came back there was a different lady at the counter (assumed a shift change) that was welcoming people in while answering phones and checking out guests . She had a different attitude was nice and willing to help . We get into our room at 301 and a huge odor of smoke was in the room when there are clearly signs everywhere including right outside of our room ! Saying No smoking allowed ! They let me down again .... I go down and let the front desk lady know and she was shocked ! She told me to please give her a few minutes and she would have another room ready . 5 minutes later I was at room 401 and no smoke smell ! We stayed there from the 19th to the 23 , we were barely in the room as we planned an attraction park stay everyday , so we basically stayed and slept and woke up early again every single day , everything seemed fine for the remainder of the stay until the 22nd we had an early flight on the 23rd so we needed to be back by 5 to start packing and have everything ready for the next day . My wife kept complaining that on the bed nearest to the window she was feeling small sharp pains and was panicking that she was being bit by a bug . After a restless night we pack up and get out of there to catch our plain while on the drive to the airport my wife was shocked to find a bed bug bite on her leg ! After the flight home we got home washed our clothes multiple times and threw away what we were wearing the night of and the day we took off ! Not wanting to bring back any disgusting bugs we might have brought back with us . Honestly I would not recommend this hotel after this stay . Security was always walking around and doing their rounds for your safety but seems to me like they need to work on their bad attitude employees and actually clean the rooms to ensure this does not happen to anyone else !!!! My girlfriend and I stayed here for two nights to visit family this past Christmas, we realized as we were checking out that the room had been infested with bed bugs. We both suffered bed bug bites on our arms and neck. I am very disappointed considering the room was not cheap, we paid over $300.00 for two nights. Before I start my review, I want to mention that I am a regular at the Hampton Inn chain - I love their generally comfortable, casual accommodations. However, this location is the worst I have ever been to. The worst part? Extremely rude, dishonest staff! I talked to reception politely about wanting to shorten my reservation from 2 nights to 1. The guy at the desk (a middle aged man, I didn't get his name) bluntly told me it was not up to them and that I had to call Expedia, where I'd originally booked - a bit rude, but maybe the guy was just having a bad day. All was fine and good so far. So I called Expedia, they called the hotel, and behind my back hotel management resolutely told Expedia they refused to refund the second night. Turns out it was up to them all along - they'd been lying originally. Incredibly ridiculous that they couldn't have just been straightforward with me (or even better, been flexible and offered the refund). Thanks, Hampton Inn staff, for hoarding my couple hundred dollars *and* wasting my time with trying to chase a reservation change. It also doesn't help that this location is right next to a freeway. It's pretty loud at night. Further, cleanliness here isn't up to par - saw a couple of strange stains on my sheets and avoided that side of my bed the whole time I stayed. There are plenty of Hampton Inns situated around LA... I'd highly, highly recommend staying at another location if you value honest customer service, top-notch cleanliness, and a peaceful night's sleep. read more

I've always been a fan of Hampton Inn and this particular location is no exception. From the moment that we entered the lobby, we were greeted warmly by the staff. We were quickly checked in. The lobby was updated and clean and felt warm and inviting. This is a well kept place and it shows. Upon entering our room, we were greeted with the scent of fresh cleaned linens (my fav smell and the sole reason why I'm constantly doing laundry when I'm at home). The room decor was calming and tastefully done in a light greenish linen wallpaper. They offered free wifi for one day. Clean white bed linens. Big fluffy bed. I slept very well. The bathroom was spotless and also well appointed. There was plenty of free onsite parking. They also have a nice outdoor pool and hot tub although we didn't use it because the weather was a bit chilly. Online photos do not do this place justice. Great quality and value for the money. You can't go wrong with this place. It's also conveniently located right off of the highway exit so there's no spending time looking for the place. I am a big fan of this Hampton Inn and will definitely be back on future trips. Keep up the great work Hampton Inn!! read more
