We decided to stay at this hotel because it was near the highway. As we walked in the front staff greeted and welcomed us. Front area was nice and clean. As we walked into the room when noticed a nice floral scent in the room. Room was spacious, clean and cool since it was hot outside in July. Furniture and light fixtures were dated but it didn't cause an issue for us. Bed was comfy and breakfast was pretty good. A huge plus for us was that it was near I-80. Ok now that's the pro. For the cons, we wanted to be fair and point out some of the cons. 1.) Juice/water machine was broken during breakfast time. 2.) Although the bed was made on the second day we'd requested, there were cookie crumbs on the bed from the day before. 3.) The soda machine on the second floor did not have the option for credit cards, only cash. 4.) We'd requested a few towels but had to pick up the towels at the front desk. 5.) Read other reviews about the poor plumbing - well I guess it's true. Bathtub was clogged - draining extremely slow. In spite of these cons, we would definitely stay again. I booked through hotels.com. The booking email said that a no-show would be charged for one night. Thanks to a flat tire in a cell-service-less corner of the area, I was unable to show. The hotel charged me for two nights. I explained to the hotel that hotels.com had told me otherwise; they said too bad. hotels.com was not able to help. The bathrooms need repairs. Shower head was shooting water all over, the tile on the tub surround was cracked and bathroom sink did not drain. The room had a musty/smoky smell to it. There was mold in the freezer and the fridge where the drip pan is for the freezer. The pillow cases had hair on all of pillows and stains on the blanket and sheets. We got moved from the room with the hair on the pillows to another room that had all those other issues after we called the front desk and the front desk asked if the room looked ok other than the hair on the pillows. Located Off I-80, this understated hotel is a 4-minute walk from the Crossings Premium Outlets shopping center, 3.3 miles from Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark and 5.9 miles from the Mount Airy Casino Resort, and around 15-20 minute drive to NASCAR races in LongPond in PA. We booked two rooms, with king size beds on race weekend, one room was on the first floor and one was on the third floor. Rooms were booked from Friday until Monday. Front staff stated they were still offering free breakfast. You arrive at the front desk to ask where they are serving the breakfast , and they hand you a brown paper bag from behind the front desk. Everything was so warm, and they gave you a fruit cup, granola bar and a whelchers juice. ( I receive pineapple orange ) warm as warm can be. I asked the gentleman at the front desk, is this what you called breakfast, the night before, his answer was YES. For what we paid for the room, I would be embarrassed. Then I was thinking at least I would get a nice hot cup of coffee, so again I requested and asked where was the continental coffee, believe it or not, his answer was we don't have any in the lobby, you can make a cup in your room, I replied with " the machines in the rooms that never get cleaned " he said yes. It gets worst, after coming home from the first day of the races, we tried to get into the side door of the hotel, our keys wouldn't work, then our keys wouldn't work to let us in our room. We went to front desk again, and they stated we only had you staying one night, we had to show them that both rooms were paid for 3 evening and they had to supply us with new key cards. What a disaster. Price wasn't cheap either, especially because it was race weekend, I believe they raised there priced. read more

Not what you want. The fireplace is not the propane powered flip a switch kind. It's the bring logs and kindling and matches and gloves and a poker and start an actual fire inside a hotel kind. Ridiculous. The heater/AC is partially blocked by the curtains you cannot get out of the way so the room is often too warm or cold depending on the season. The included complimentary breakfast is a granola bar with fruit cup and juice (this is during Covid-2021). Like if you were arriving at a field trip for kindergarteners. Not even an apple or banana. And then there were the neighbors. The loud kind. From New York. You know. Not that it's the hotel's fault. It is a tourist area especially for snow sports. I don't know where to start... to be honest you get what you paid... their check in was at 4pm and we went at 3pm and they told us the room is still not ready yet even thou their check out is 11am. Maybe lack of staff. I didn't encounter any bugs that was previously mentioned in other peoples post. But somehow their bathroom have a subtle smell of cigarette even thou they empathize no smoking allowed in the room. I don't know if the smell is from the vent or not but I can occasionally smell cigarette when I'm in the bathroom.. Their room card stopped working one full day before the day we were suppose to check out and it stopped working on the day of (it stopped working at 9 when we check out at 11). They only offer grab and go lunches (7am to 10am) which includes juice, fruit cups and granola bars . Their pool is absolutely disgusting... they have a lot hair flowing in the pooling and the water looks sooo cloudy and has the purulent smell of chlorine (like aloottt of chlorine) ... I went once during my stay ... I was really put off by it. And if you wear contact lens please please take off your contacts if you want to play in their pool... you wouldn't want risk any infections. Their gym is closed at the moment. The wall is pretty thin... I could hear people talking just from walking down the hallways. Their bed kinda smells weird.... Ughhh .. like the area where you put your head if you move away the pillows. Again.. you get what you paid. If you're only staying for like 3 days then this is a cheap option. My family and I had a good stay. They made sure to state that no smoking was allowed in the rooms but the first room they put us in reeked of smoke. It was obvious someone had been smoking in the room and probably recently. Which is crazy since check in was 4pm and we didn't check in until after 6pm. We complained to the front desk ASAP and they placed us in a different but similar room. The room was modern and clean. It had a walk in curtain shower which at the time I thought was cool at first but water kept getting out onto the bathroom floor. So we ended up requesting a lot of towel just because of that. No breakfast due to Covid ( unless you count granola bars as breakfast). The pool was not heated and was crowded. I think people who were not hotel guest ( they kept using the side outside door to go back and forth to their cars for liquor, food, etc) were using the pool like it was their own personal pool. That's was a turn off. Other than that the stay was good, it is very close to Camelback and to the outlets. read more

A bed bug was crawling around on top of my bed. See the photos I attached. The hotel owner refuses to reimburse me or respond to my repeated attempts at contact. I opened a complaint with Best Western Corporate, but the owner is also avoiding their repeated attempts at contact. I also opened a complaint with the Pennsylvania Department of Health. As of now, I'm still uncompensated for this horrifying, traumatic experience. And the owner hasn't taken any accountability to protect other guests. DON'T STAY HERE UNLESS YOU'RE WILLING TO RISK UNCOMPENSATED EXPOSURE TO BED BUGS. read more

Originally booked a basic king room (#326). Room reeked of chlorine and all you could hear was children screaming. Pulled back the window curtain and instead of the seeing the outside world, I see the indoor pool. Immediately asked the manager for a new room. "Completely" booked. Asked for money back instead since the listing online was false advertisement. Never mentioned it would be an interior room. If the only window is just a view to another indoor room, then why have a window? Was told we would only get a half refund since we already checked in (we had only been there 5 min). After threatening to call corporate, the manager magically had a cancellation and we got a new room. Must admit, the new room (#301) was very nice. King bed with fireplace and jacuzzi. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Free breakfast was basic but hey its free. If you are going to stay here you MUST call ahead and make sure you do not get one of the "pool rooms." read more

This is a solid place to stay on a visit to the Poconos. It is 3 miles from the Camelback Mountain resort and many shops and restaurants. We had a 2 bed room with fireplace and the beds were too small for 2 people to sleep in each (there were four of us). The beds were very comfortable though. When we asked to upgrade our room, they told us they only have 1 king bed rooms or 2 doubles. Good to know! The fireplace was not gas- the front desk supplied fire logs for our use. The instructions to use in the room were interesting (keep the room at 72 degrees for at least 20 minutes and don't leave the bathroom fan on to prevent an upwind). I must have done something wrong the second time we used it, because there was a lot of ash in front of the fireplace and we smelled like campfire that night, lol. One other note was that the fireplace doors didn't shut all the way, which should be fixed. Regardless, I loved having the fireplace in the room....we used it a lot. Breakfast was your average free hotel breakfast, not great, not awful. Pool did not seem heated. I really wanted to go swimming but it was too cold! The room itself was warm enough to sit in with only a bathing suit on, but the water was not even lukewarm. That was very disappointing. Gym looked nice, but we did not use. Next time, we will try to find something with bigger beds for the family but other than that, I would stay here again. read more

I had stayed here many many years ago became they became best western. I got a great deal last minute. Upon our check in on apr 30, we saw that the entire place had been renovated. I asked and the kind front desk told me they renovated in Nov 2014. The room itself is very modern and super super clean. The beds were comfortable. Fitness room is small but very clean. We swam in the pool and was nice and heated. Breakfast is your typical setup with lots of tables and food replenished often. Their coffee maker is awesome as it also dispenses cappuccino, espresso, hot chocolate. Would definitely come back. Too bad it's not pet friendly. read more

We chose this hotel because it was close to the event we were attending and its reviews of cleanliness. It was clean, however, the hotel is in need of a roof repair. The lobby is empty and clean. No computers or printers any longer to be used and furnished in a way as not to congregate. Hallways were clean until day 2 when there was a cigarette but in the upstairs hallway for the remainder of our stay...over 24 hours. First room we were put in had a very leaky ceiling so we called down and we were moved, but the second room also had a leaky ceiling, yet not as bad so we never said anything. Rooms were clean. Pool was open but is not large enough for the amount of hotel guests. Spent about 10 minutes in the pool cause people cant control their children. No breakfast yet due to covid but a cute diner down the street, Billy's Diner. Would stay again, but fix your roof read more

Based on other bad reviews on here, I am surprised me & my boyfriend did not have much complaints. Maybe we got lucky. We stayed here at the king suite fri-mon during labor day weekend. The heart shaped tub looked cute and cleaned ok. wished there was a separate shower stall or something because I just had to stand there with the hand held shower head, to take a shower. The room itself was cleaned Ok...could have been cleaner like vacuumed more properly. Also the room was very muggy. There was no odor but it seemed damp and muggy. Even with Ac on the whole weekend. I took off one star because the cleaning ladies seemed rude. One morning we walked by a bunch of rooms they were cleaning and heard one of the ladies say a nasty comment (toward us, we think). We even left a very good tip of our cleaning ladies in their envelope tip. read more

Highly recommend. Currently staying here for a week getaway. The location is amazing. Just minutes away from the outlets and a small shopping center consisting of a massive grocery store and a liquor store with nice wine selections. The rooms are a good size and most importantly they are perfectly clean! The bed is super comfy and the room has a nice sized flat screen and all the needed necessities. The bathroom is a bit on the small side but is beautiful and the shower has awesome water pressure. They have a pool, gym and free hot breakfast. There is plenty of parking as their lot is rather large. The lady at the front desk was sweet and knowledgeable. She was very pleasant and made my husband and I feel welcomed. Not sure why there are negative and suspicious reviews because we are absolutely comfortable and happy with our stay. read more

My husband and I chose to stay here instead of the ski resort mainly due to price! We only needed a room to sleep in...we were here for all of 10 hours at best, and had a very pleasant stay! The front desk was super friendly when we checked in(and out), the room was clean, spacious, and we both slept very comfortably. The hotel has cockroaches. Do not go to this hotel. The upper management or owner is a very rude person who has no consideration for anyone. His employees claim they have a bug problem but he says they don't and also hung up on my mother. We were supposed to get breakfast....he claims there is a sign in the lobby saying you have to ask for a bag of food to go. We didn't see it. So now I have to worry about cockroaches in my own house. Bed Bugs!!! Beware. Owner/manager Sanjiv Gosain made no attempt to rectify the situation. Rather, he was extremely rude. I approached him about the situation in a very polite and discreet way, in the spirit of cooperation and understanding, and his immediate response was to go on the defensive and get confrontational. No apology, not even an acknowledgment of 'hey, that sucks that you were devoured in your sleep and are now left with 6 huge ugly very itchy bites and now you have to worry about decontaminating all your stuff so you don't bring bed bugs home with you to terrorize your life.' The appropriate response for a hotel owner in this situation, at the very least, would be to apologize and comp the person for the night that she was bitten in her sleep. Standard practice. I'd like to add that I am quite easy-going and accommodating, not the type of person to complain. And my background is in hospitality so I am particularly empathetic to that side of things. But the way I was treated in this situation was so appalling I had to speak up. Other than the Bed Bugs and the horribly rude owner, the rest of the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Also, I will send a report to the Better Business Bureau to make certain that the appropriate steps are taken to hire an exterminator so the next guest doesn't have to go through what I went through. And to be fair, I inspected the room and didn't find any signs of a major infestation so hopefully it was just a lone straggler or two. But on principle, I say make a reservation elsewhere! I called the best western 800 number to book 2 rooms for February 18th, they booked me for January 18th and charged my card for a no show. When I called to get this fixed the hotel manager refused to just change my dates to February and the 800 number told me it will be 2 weeks until they can relisten to my call to make sure I said February to refund my money. The best western is not customer friendly, and the manager at this Tannersville location is rude and uncooperative. I will NEVER use the best western again. read more

I reserved 2 rooms for 2 nights. I called the day before to see if we had adjoining rooms. Melanie at the front t desk stated she could not accommodate us. I called the next morning(check in day) and spoke with suzanna who went out of her way to make sure she could accommodate my family. She got us adjoining rooms. We arrived to the hotel and the grounds were not kept up. We were told there would not be any housekeeping and they have grab and go bags for breakfast. We checked in and went to our rooms. Rooms are spacious but outdated! There was sticky residue and crumbs on the furniture. The bathtub had a crack on the floor and it felt like you would fall thru if you stepped on it for too long. The pool room had no ventilation and t made it very hard to breathe. The next day we woke up and went down stairs to get the grab and go bags. Unfortunately we could not eat it because of food allergies. We had to go out for breakfast each morning, which was an inconvenience. I personally feel like they should still have breakfast. Only allow a certain amount of people in the room at a time. The staff should serve the food so there is no contamination. Having no house keeping didn't bother us that much but I do wish that they came and at least emptied the garbage. People were putting garbage and food in the hallway due to no housekeeping. One major thing that was totally not safe is that they had doors leading to the outside chained shut! Not sure how they think that is safe. Overall I probably wouldn't stay there again. We are members of best western and all of the other hotels exceeded my expectations. If they paid attention to detail this hotel could be a good one. read more

Pool is NOT heated. Bummer b/c this is why we picked the place and my kids could tolerate it for 20 minutes until they're teeth chattered. On the second day they wouldn't get in. So sad. Breakfast in the morning is sausage links, instant eggs, waffle maker & basic bagels/toast/Meiji donuts and cereal. Room and food available CANNOT accommodate amount of people. Line of 20 people waiting for the 2 waffle makers. I feel for the ladies tending the stations - they couldn't keep up with the demands. One pitcher of milk for the coffees and kept getting empty cause used for cereal. It was ridiculous, we had to go out for breakfast and we picked it for the free breakfast (and pool). Rooms were clean. Ours had a funny odor like a past smoker but it went away. The bathrooms were so tiny. Cheap plastic toilet rim that slide around whe you say on it. Will we come back - no. Would I recommend this place - no Hotels.com reviews deceived us. Will be posting there also to save a family so they don't get fooled like us. The one star was only given for the ladies that worked their butts off trying to accommodate the entire hotel for breakfast. Looking back the breakfast room was past max capacity and a fire marshal would have shut it down on seconds. read more

*Long post alert* I have worked in the hotel industry for 15 years and have spent 12 of them working in management and operations so I tend not to be overly critical of hotels when I travel as I understand the operational challenges that come with running a hotel. So with that said, The criticism that I post here for this property I sincerely hope is taken constructively by the team and changes implemented for all future guests going forward. I normally would speak with the management team rather than post on social media but in this case this post is a must as I have extensively read the reviews on this hotel before this posting, so the Management Team is aware of the issues here. This stay was by far the worst stay I have experienced since I began working in the industry. I do understand COVID had to alter how we operate hotels, and since I manage a Best Western property, ! consider myself to be very well versed with Best Western brand standards and brand requirements as well as the amendments made during the pandemic, so to be told after inquiring that there is no housekeeping service, no breakfast, no viable grab n go options, no coffee, no business center, is already very disappointing because I know and understand very well what Best Western Branded hotels are required to provide to guests (even under the current pandemic circumstances) and to top it off given a room that wasn't cleaned properly with a shower that was full of mold, and a broken, slippery shower surface (room 326) was utterly disappointing. But what made it all worse was (with the exception of one woman) the unfriendly desk staff. in particular agent Michael Smith whom I was compelled to ask his name because of his poor judgement and communication skills. (Neither he or the rest of the staff wore name tags). Mr. Smith was unfriendly, combative, unempathetic, and exacerbated the already horrible experience I was having with him at the front desk and my overall stay by continuing to feel the need to have the last word to rebut any statement of displeasure of my experience of my stay that I made. And when I called him on it he told me he "had a right to speak" like everybody else. Which of course he does but choosing to exercise this right during a bad interaction with a guest who is having a bad stay is not the right time, place, or situation to do so. Especially when your job title describes you as someone who is hired to provide exceptional guest service. During this interaction he ironically recognized me as a platinum member and continued on with his combative behavior. I was in utter disbelief! During this interaction I told Mr. Smith my only request was to have the dirty towels in my room replaced with clean towels. They were not replaced. Mr. Smith definitely needs training to understand the concept and responsibilites of a Guest Service/Front Desk Agent. He alone is the reason why I will never return to this property which is unfortunate because I travel from NYC to see my father who lives in Tobyhanna and this property is the only hotel that is closest to his residence. read more

I will say that the rooms are nice, and the front desk staff were all very friendly. That being said, management is horrendous. My fiance and I called about 10 times, over the course of several weeks, to inquire about setting up a room block for our wedding. Every call, they either didn't answer the phone, or they told us the manager would call us back and took our information down. They took our same info about 5 or 6 times, and all the while, we never got a call back. I finally demanded to speak with him, and he tells me "sorry, I can't offer you a block" which is fine, but why did they jerk me around for 6 weeks and waste my time? My boyfriend and I had a great time staying here for valentines weekend! Loved that it was only 5minutes away from Camelback and 2minutes from the outlets. We thought it was weird the fireplace wasn't gas, it actually required real wood so we didn't bother with that. The jetted tub was awesome!! Felt great after a cold day on the slopes. This Hotel is in a great location to the Kalahari Convention Center but seriously lacks Customer Service. There were several issues so far within the short time of arrival: Upon reading they have recently had bed bugs we stripped the beds to inspect. Both beds were stained and full of hair. We called down to ask for new sheets. Vincent arrived (he is amazing and the only good thing about this Hotel so far) he switched out the linens and vacuumed our room again. We noticed that they were STILL covered in hair. GROSS. We called and spoke to Chris again but was told they were extremely busy and he would send Vincent back again later. After calling around most places are booked due to several local events going on. I am stuck here having to lay here in someone else's hair. While Chris could care less. Very disappointed in this hotel. I will update the rest our our stay later but considering the experience so far I'm NOT looking forward to it at all. read more
