Since Covid most hotels are charging more almost 3/4 more but the quality has plummeted about 80%. I have seen in a specially with cleaning the rooms which you were think would be paramount that it has declined significantly. However at this location for the price I got more than what I have at some of the best hotels. Breakfast was great and actually tasted good. The room was clean hotel carpets were clean the staff was nice and courteous and extremely helpful without it being forced. The little details of the hotel room and the little extras such as bottle water, the scent of the hand soap and quality. Several other items throughout the hotel it really makes it honestly better than a lot of five-star hotels that I've stayed! I really hope that this location sets the standard for the rest of the hotels in the industry because it's getting so ridiculous to spend so much money on a place to stay the night and not have it be comfortable, clean and welcoming. Booked a room through Expedia for $185. Website said Pet Fee was $5. Got there and they charged us $20. Then they switched rooms on us. 30 minutes after we settled into our room, the owner decided we didn't pay enough so he helped himself to another $90! The manager and the lady working the front desk agreed with us completely but the new owner just does whatever he wants! BEWARE!!!! $300 for one night in Clarendon, Texas is a ripoff and we would have never stopped had we known! read more

The hotel was clean, the breakfast bar well stocked, and the staff was friendly. Although everyone was great, I wanted acknowledge Terry and Kerri for their exceptional customer service. Each time I was in their presence, I was greeted with a cheerful smile along with their uplifting energy. Their professionalism made our experience that much more pleasant. Absolutely loved this hotel. We stopped through on our way home from Colorado and needed a place to sleep for the night. The woman working the night shift was so kind and found us a room that was decently priced. The morning breakfast was fantastic and everyone we ran into was so kind. Giving it a 5-star for this type of hotel. We have driven cross country from Pensacola, FL to Sacramento, CA and back. We have a dog and amenities for people with pets are usually less than desirable, understandably so. The room was clean, no pet smell, the fresh remote was awesome. The breakfast was amazing, good mix of foods, amazing fresh ground coffee machine. The staff though, was really nice and happy. Who does that anymore? read more

This was a great place to stay. We liked it so much we stayed on the way to and on the way from Plano Texas. The rooms were clean. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of pillows. All of the staff and management were very pleasant to deal with and we had no problems whatsoever the water was hot and the tub was clean, we will stay here anytime that we come back to Texas as it is much better than many of the places we have tried in the past! read more

We are so glad that other pet friendly hotels in Childress were sold out, so we drove a bit further to Clarendon This hotel, though older was very clean I wish that we spent more time so that we could have used the indoor pool Every staff member was exceptional Morning breakfast looked very good (we only had time for coffee) We have a dog and cat..no size restrictions The fee was very reasonable This will be our go to for our road trips in this area read more

This is a very nice hotel. It's been a couple of months ago but we had been on the road all day, quite tired. Found this along our route and decided to give it a try. Loved this spot. It's clean and efficient. The freeway noise wasn't a big deal to me ,I travel with earplugs. Appreciated the bottle of water and coffee wasnt bad. Which is the king room with the two person tub, and while the tub was amazing... Didn't care for the bed and would never choose that room again unless I was alone. The king bed was like a trampoline and every time my has flopped I went shooting into the air so wasn't a good sleep. (But it was a darn good bath) I would also like to point out that they use good toilet paper. That is seriously everything when you've been on the road a while and it's a lot of rough toilet paper out there. read more

This was my first hotel stay since the pandemic. I was hesitant to stay at a Best Western hotel. But we needed two nights in some proximity to caprock canyon and there aren't many options! The current reviews on trip advisor were good. So we gave it a try. The hotel was excellent. The room was clean, quiet, spacious and well appointed. The staff was so friendly and seemed really happy we were there. Beds were good (though not great) and the room had a larger than normal fridge. Breakfast area was well tended by one very nice lady. Our stay FAR exceeded my expectations! A late night arrival without reservations and we were greeted by a young man who truly is gifted when it comes to the hospitality industry. Our room was spotless! Yes, the train rolled thru a few times but was no more of a nuisance than a good ole' TEXAS boy rolling thru in his diesel. Breakfast burritos were assembled right in front of us and bagged up with a bottle of water for the road! Coffee bar was spot on and my blueberry muffin was bursting with flavor! Nice hotel. Friendly staff. Large, clean rooms (we were in a king room). Good breakfast--eggs, sausage, waffles (shaped like the state of Texas), biscuits and gravy, yogurt, cereal, pastries, juices and decent coffee). Bedbugs!! Bitten terribly! I would not stay here. Desk clerk who was very nice claimed they had never had bed bugs, but I doubt it. I changed rooms and floors, but expect a serious discount if not a refund. Dingy place. read more

Very nice hotel for an out of the way location. Cleanliness leaves a little to be desired as the lamp by the bedside had dust an inch thick! For someone who is allergic to dust, this was bad! The hotel is BAD BUSINESS!!! I had 3 rooms booked and the hotel had me down for 4. They did not tell me about the 4th room and when I got my company credit card statement I saw a 4th room charged. They REFUSED to refund my money and could care less that they did not tell me there was a 4th room booked when I checked in or that I work for a non-profit company and we have been very loyally staying at their establishment. NEVER AGAIN!!! DO NOT STAY HERE..bad business and have no loyalty to their customers. read more

Its your typical Best Western - clean and spacious. No complaints about the amenities or the room. We called the morning of our check in and requested a 3rd floor room and as far back from the main road. (We do this since we knew our arrival time would be rather late. We were traveling east and wanted to drive at least 12 hours today'.)The desk clerk told us that our room number would be 306 and it would be waiting for us when we arrived. Well......sure enough we checked it at 8,30 PM . We felt sure that all would be fine since we called ahead. SO much for that smug feeling we had as we drove into the full parking lot. Our room had been given away when someone was checking in earlier in the day since it was th only clean room. I've called ahead to lots of motels where we have a rservation and requested a quiet room. All of our requests have been honored. As I write this review - I'm sitting on my bed on the 1st floor facing the busy highway. By the way - the HBO channels were not working on our TV - and you got it - the desk clerk had no clue on how to solve the problem. read more

I would have given 5 stars but few taken away for rude lady at front desk. We arrived Friday night checked in, lady didn't smile or nothing and was not friendly. Asked her where is decent place to eat she mention something not making eye contact doing whatever she was too busy with. Other than that we stayed in a king suite and had good selection of channels. Pleasant surprise for this small town! Room was large (we had 2 queen beds) and very clean. We were on the pet-free third floor which was awesome since we spent 5 days at a hotel in Utah where we listened to our neighbors dog bark, whine and howl for four of those days. The pool and hot tub were clean and relaxing after a long day and many miles. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was really good: western omelets, sausage, biscuits, gravy and waffles in shape of Texas! Well worth the price!! read more

Can't give 5 stars only because of the train track RIGHT next to the hotel. Trains come through every few hours and shake the entire hotel. Felt like a tornado was coming through. Luckily, we bring a box fan to hotels because we need the noise so that made a huge difference at night. I don't recall them waking me up at night, but I'm sure that's because we had the fan to drown out the sound. Hotel was very clean and nice. We were happy to see that the indoor pool was nice and warm as well. Hotel had lots of little amenities that make a huge difference. We will definitely be back! We enjoyed our stay!!! read more
