Okay... I'm almost mad at myself for writing this review because this is low-key my secret staycation spot... but the people deserve to know. Best Western Plus Sundial is hands down the best little romantic getaway/self-care reset spot. If you're booking a room, do yourself a favor and get the one with the jacuzzi tub and thank me later. The water actually gets hot (which is rare these days) and the jets are strong enough to make you forget every stressful thing that happened that week. Location-wise it's kind of the best of both worlds. It's right across the street from the row of Old Town Scottsdale Entertainment District clubs, so if you're in party mode you can literally walk to the fun and safely stumble back to your bed afterwards. But if you're like me and using it for a quiet reset, the hotel itself is peaceful, clean, and the staff are always super friendly. Only tip: if you're a light sleeper and staying on a weekend, bring earplugs just in case the nightlife gets lively. Small price to pay for the location. They also serve breakfast every morning from 6:30-9:30, which is such a nice touch when you wake up relaxed and slightly dramatic about leaving the jacuzzi. Overall: clean rooms, great staff, relaxing vibe... just please don't ruin my little paradise by booking it all the time. Let me keep pretending it's my secret. read more

I can't say enough good things about my 3 night stay at the Best Western Plus Sundial in Scottsdale. The location was spot-on, close to everything we wanted to see from Old Town's shops and restaurants to the entertainment district, without feeling noisy or hectic once we were back on property. The pool area was a gem: empty, calm, and at the perfect temperature every time we went for a swim. It felt like our own private oasis. The front desk team set the tone from the moment we arrived, friendly, helpful, and genuinely attentive in a way that made us feel welcome, not just processed. Even the small details were handled well: the ice machine was spotless and just steps from our room, and the solid concrete walls meant our nights were absolutely silent. I have paid triple the price for half the experience more times than I can count. This hotel hits the sweet spot with comfort, location, and service without the inflated price tag. The rooms are fantastic, updated and comfortable. #2, unless you're into the club scene, you'll want to find a quiet hotel that is away from this Entertainment District (directly across the street) otherwise, you'll hear bump, bump, bump, bump of bass until 2:30am each night. It's loud. #3, The pool is behind the hotel, across an alley. It's nice, large enough but not too small, and it's clean w/ its own bathroom. #4, Breakfast is decent, but it's not buffet - you select 3 items a side and coffee, etc., but it's free and that's always good. This is such a cute hotel! The pool is beautiful, plenty of parking (in back) and cute astrology themed rooms. Breakfast is included. What makes this hotel so great is its location and proximity to old town Scottsdale. You can see the bars across the street... you can also hear them at night. Look, it's not a 5star hotel so you get what you pay for. That includes a wonderful breakfast spread, great customer service, amazing location, and a comfy bed. Unfortunately, the room was a little small, there was no lounge area besides the pool or your room, breakfast was highly micromanaged, & I'm pretty sure our neighbors could all hear us. Let me start off saying Dino is so nice and personable. We were greeted by him and he was so nice! Give this guy a raise! Parking It felt safe and was able to park in a lot behind the hotel. Fitness center This one was excellent. It even had a Peleton which I always appreciate! There are weights, weighted balls, yoga balls, treadmill and towels. There wasn't any cleaner for the equipment though. Room We had room 209 and it was great for 3 people and one dog. Very clean and comfortable. We checked in late on Sat so we were given room 102. It was a decent room. Bed was comfortable. The room had a jacuzzi tub in the room. Thought that was a little strange. The light in the room was also weird. There were light switches all over that turned on and off various light. As we walked in we could hear the music thumping from across the street from the Entertainment district. We knew about this but didn't realize how LOUD it would be in addition to the street traffic. We asked to be moved but they were booked full for the night and may be able to get another room in the morning. The front desk person was very nice about. We said we'd see how it goes. Luckily the clubs close at 2am so it didnt go all not but there was a lot of traffic noise. So it you don't mind the noise it's a great hotel. Great location right on Camelback. Close to Old Scottsdale and the Entertainment district. The hotel had a decent pool but there were ducks swimming in it so I didn't try it out. It's fine I hadn't planned on it but I did bring my trunks. Oh well. They did have a decent pseudo breakfast buffet. You got to choose 3 hot item, 1 cold item and a drink. We asked the attendant if we could get an extra bagel - that was one of the hotel item since they toasted the bagel (?). Nope. "You've chosen your 3 hot items " I was told. It a bagel. Jeez.. oh well. We did stay in the same room but was very noisy. We were pretty tired at the end of each day so we both fell asleep easily but if you're a light sleeper, ask for a room away from the street. Rhe night before we checked out I thought I'd ask if we could get a late check out. Our flight was at 5 and check out was at 11. Our niece we were visiting was done until 12 so I figured we could wait until 12 to check out. Nope. There a $20 fee per HOUR. Passed know the late check out. Figured since we were there for 4 nights already an extra hour would be that long of a stretch. We then asked if we could leave our bags at the hotel. Nope. $10 fee for bags! WTH... I figured it would be complimentary. We passed in that too. Overall I was disappointed. The hotel wasn't cheap so I figured they would be customer focused. Guess not. I understand a business needs to make money. But nickel and diming your customers is not a good look. Next time we will probably stay some where else. read more

CONS: -The internet was so bad that the first two nights, the tv kept freezing over and over for periods of up to a minute each time. -You are forbidden from moving the tables at the pool so they were in the hot, bright sun the ENTIRE time. Even though had they been moved three feet to the left they would have been in the shade. -The lounge area is completely roped off except for breakfast. So there is no place to relax out than your room or the white hot pool area (since you can't move into the shade). -The room was fine but shabby (huge gouge out of bathroom door, a piece missing from fridge, mold in shower). More Best Western level than Best Western plus. -And finally, as we were checking out, a prostitute came to the front desk and the clerk looked up a guest's room number and directed them to the elevator. PROS: -Amazingly great shower - hot and strong. -Oversized balcony with table and chairs -Despite what others say, we didn't find the noise to be a distraction. Once the a/c was on you couldn't hear it. -Excellent location: across the street from the entertainment district, two blocks to the canal area and Fashion Square, about a mile walk to old town. I'm only one day in to our trip and had to post a review because this place rocks! First off the location is key. This place is close to everything and when I say everything I mean it. Close to all the clubs and bars, old town and stadium. We don't need to rent a car we walked everywhere. If needed they have the bike taxis that will take you wherever you need to go. This was a last minute trip to Spring Training and we found this place as a lot of places were sold out. This was their last room and it was perfect. Super clean room, the grounds were spotless and the lobby was so inviting. All the staff were so friendly but the best was the breakfast. The manager checked us in when we got here and told us about the breakfast. We thought it would just have a few things and I was so impressed. You could get whatever you want from French toast, breakfast burritos, oatmeal, potatoes, eggs, yogurt I mean so much. Claudia helped me at breakfast and she was so friendly and amazing. When it didn't show up, I contacted the hotel, who told me to contact my wife's bank. My wife's bank said they saw no pending transaction and advised my wife to contact the hotel again. Eventually, the hotel claimed the deposit had been released but then said only $77 would be returned due to a $22 parking fee--despite the parking being charged separately and a receipt being sent to us showing that. To resolve this, we had to go through multiple calls and emails. I eventually spoke to someone named Devina, who was difficult to get a straight answer from. She asked for a 3-way call with the bank to clarify the issue, which my wife arranged. She barely spoke during it and concluded that my wife was confused about hotel hold which we have prior hotel experience and this was a first time we had a bad experience with a hotel from the service to the hold. I mentioned to my wife, she had a different tone with me than she had with her as well. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Well, once I got in. Trying to find the place was tough, but once located it was all great. Maybe it was the local housing codes and lack of signs. The staffing & check in were great. The room was just awesome. It was long, roomy and just loved the style. A Wonderful Stay at Best Western Plus Sundial - Perfect for Families and Highly Recommend! I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Best Western Plus Sundial in Scottsdale, and I honestly can't say enough good things about it. We brought the whole family along for this trip, so we needed multiple rooms, and from the moment we arrived, everything was just flawless. The staff made sure that all of our rooms were close together and perfectly set up, which made things so much easier for us. It's clear that they really care about their guests and pay attention to every detail. The hotel itself is beautiful. The grounds and buildings were absolutely spotless -- I don't think I saw a single thing out of place the entire time we were there. You can tell they put a lot of work into maintaining it. The lobby and lounge area were so welcoming and well-appointed, it was like a little oasis every time we came back from exploring Scottsdale. My family and I loved just hanging out there and unwinding -- it was so cozy and comfortable. And the pool area? Fabulous! We spent so much time there. It's not only sparkling clean, but the perfect spot to relax after a day in the Arizona heat. The pool area is well-maintained and has plenty of comfortable seating, which made it ideal for both lounging and letting the kids splash around. Our rooms were perfect too. The housekeeping staff did an outstanding job every single day. I don't think I've ever stayed anywhere where the rooms were kept so consistently clean and well-stocked. They were also incredibly accommodating -- anything we needed was handled quickly and with a smile. Having multiple rooms could've been a challenge, but they made it so seamless for us. One of the highlights of our stay was definitely the breakfast. It was phenomenal! This is not a 5 star hotel and I have no idea why everyone is rating it as such. The beautiful photo from the pool is deceiving also and taken at an angle as to make this place look magnificent. It isn't. It is a 3 star hotel in my opinion and perfect if you want to be on top of the Entertainment District. The front desk staff is very nice and guy who works there originally from NY was especially nice. I was unsure about the bus system back to the airport but he assured me it works on time. Somebody tell him for me he was right! My commute via public transportation back to the airport was perfect and this location is right on Camelback Rd, a major throughfare. The inclusive breakfast was nice but the lobby area was very small. The Fitness Center was OK too. The room and king bed were comfortable but my view was of a wall. I had a jacuzzi in the room (they upgraded me) but I didn't use it. There were some bugs but that comes with the territory of a ground floor room. The pool area was very nice and relaxing! All in all, this hotel is nice for a good price and if that part of town is convenient for you. read more

A few months ago (when we moved from Seattle to PHX) we stayed (along with family) at Best Westerns for 3 straight nights. During this time they were offering a deal which earned us a free night of our choosing at ANY hotel in ANY room for ZERO charge. We opted to visit this location and booked their "spa" room. We were greeted with a warm smile and a welcome bag with bottled water and snacks. The room was comfortable and quiet, despite it being on the bottom floor. There is plenty of parking and the breakfast is top notch! Really the best part of staying here (other than the great location) IMO. Sausage, French toast, breakfast potatoes, so many types of breads & pastries, fresh fruit, cereal, hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, every drink you might want and every condiment. I stayed in Oct and had gotten a beyond unbelievable price from booking.com. I had gotten a Suite on the third floor with the spa tub and deck. I did not find it noisy at all and my room was on Camelback side of the hotel. The breakfast was very good. The pool was terrific. Did not use the jacuzzi because it kind of look dirty. Everyone was friendly. Many restaurants nearby & shopping also. Only think I would of liked was a little softer bed...but it was still good. read more

We stayed at the Best Western Plus Sundial Hotel for 8 nights when our home air-conditioning system conked out on a 114-degree day a couple of weeks ago. From now on, this will be our "first choice go-to place" when friends or family ask for a recommendation on where to stay in Scottsdale. The hotel's motif is inspired by American architect Frank Lloyd Wright and features some unique and beautiful building design and materials. Our room had a comfortable King bed and ample storage and counter space for a week's stay. We had an in-room Jacuzzi which worked great and was a delightful addition. Everything was sparkling clean, the room was quiet, and the a/c worked great. We both slept very well. We had breakfast (included) each morning, located adjacent to the main lobby. The menu freshly prepared scrambled eggs, thin, crispy bacon, breakfast potatoes and French toast. There was fresh fruit, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, cereals and a really great assortment of breads, muffins and sweet rolls. Everything was delicious and the staff kept the area immaculate and refilled items quickly as needed. The hotel is in the heart of downtown Scottsdale, a perfect location to make "home base" if you want to explore the local sights, restaurants and shopping. The nightclub district is just 1 block over, but we were there over a weekend and never heard a thing. There is ample parking in the back of the hotel. We didn't use the hotel outdoor pool or Jacuzzi, but it looked very attractive. I did use the treadmill in the hotel's small gym (other equipment included weights, a stair-stepper and a cross country machine) and found it clean and in good working condition. We found the customer service to be exceptional. The hotel personnel--whether it was management, front desk, housekeeping, maintenance or restaurant staff-- everyone we met was friendly and did everything possible to make sure we were having a great experience. Although we're glad our a/c is repaired and we're back home again, we had a great week at the Sundial Hotel! I highly recommend the Sundial Hotel and would definitely stay here again ourselves for a fun "staycation." read more

Edit: Esthela contacted us later that she had an extra room. We signed a contract with this hotel months ago for a set number of rooms and the hotel was unable to deliver nor did they inform us ahead of time that they would be unable to deliver. It caused us a lot of inconvenience. Simply put, they gave us a promise delivered in a form of a contract so we had expectations. They missed our expectations. They signed a contract and broke it without letting any of us know, leaving us stranded. Why would this hotel sign a contract knowing that their room would be filled? This hotel is extremely unprofessional due to their inability to keep a contract and their lack of communication. Other than that, the aesthetic of the hotel is pretty cool and vintage-looking if that suits your taste. read more

There's only one thing wrong with this place. I'll get to that. First, the staff is great, very pleasant and helpful. The rooms are nice and we liked the pool. There's parking and it's a short walk to Old Town with all the restaurants and shopping. But...I was awakened at 1:00 am on a Wenesday by an incredible racket of rap music, which I thought was coming from inside, but turned out to be from a nightclub a block away, called, and I am not making this up, "Riot House". The bars don't close until 2:00. So if you're there to party, great. If you want to sleep, not so much. read more

New property just a block away from the Fashion Mall and located in downtown Scottsdale. Plentiful parking in the rear, super easy! The rooms were very nice, big, clean, and terrific service from the entire management and staff. Breakfast is included, small and but was overall very fresh. I've noticed some of the previous bloggers/ yelpers complained about the noise, but I didn't have any issues or problems at all. I was advised by my friend whom I was visiting in Arizona to look for a hotel somewhere in Scottsdale around Old Town. Hotels in Scottsdale are not cheap! I don't particularly book my stays with inns, but Best Western Plus Sundial was the most affordable option at the time. Don't get me wrong though... this Best Western is still competitively priced lol. I had an amazing stay at Best Western Plus Sundial! I found it to be a pretty hotel actually. We arrived at the hotel late at night, so the hotel's colored lights made it look like a resort. It also has an open-style, so the walkways to the rooms are looking out to the street. An added plus is the balcony in our room that looked out to the pool. The agent at guest services who checked us in and checked us out (same guy) was super nice and friendly, and the amenities at this hotel were very good. Parking and wi-fi are free, a complimentary breakfast is served in the morning, and I can't stress enough of how greatly convenient the location of this hotel is! Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall is just down the street, and Old Town is literally a block away. For the price, amenities, and awesome location, I will absolutely stay at Best Western Plus Sundial again during my next visit to Scottsdale. read more

One word... Beautiful! The architecture is like no other typical hotel. For a Best Western I was highly impressed. The front desk was very friendly and helpful in the whole checking in process. Next was entering the room- 'ahhhh' lol yes the light was shining from above lol not really but that's the noise I made when my friend and I entered the room. The property was designed for Downtown Scottsdale and the visitors of the area.. I love the layout with a spa available in the room. Classy and modern decor and a real value. We were here for a weekend during Spring Training and over St. Patrick's Day. Good location, within walking distance to Scottsdale Rd and also Camelback. Comfy beds and also friendly front desk. Here's the only issue: we had a hadicapped room. This I am sure is ADA compliant and that's great, but having an open shower in the bathroom that has slippery tiles can create a safety issue with slips and falls considering there is one drain that isn't elevated. So we had to put down about 5 towels on the floor that were drenched with water when we showered. Next time I'd like to stay in a non-handicapped room.... Um, I don't think this place merits "WORST Western", but it was not impressive and relatively expensive for this class of hotel. A big part of the problem stems from the room we were placed in. Our bed was about 15 feet from Camelback Road - a very busy road and LOUD at night. The room smelled stale and had the charm of a Prison cell. We had a really large room - which I guess they try to make up for the proximity to the street, the construction site next door, the driveway adjacent to the other side of the room, the inoperable windows,the fact that the walls are stone - no drapes to help with acoustics (just shutters) - which makes for a great sound chamber for unmufflered motorcycles at 3 am. The Bathroom doors were shutter type - I guess great for ventilation but hello? privacy? Adding to the charm, the Building lights shone right into our undraped windows, the TV had horrible sound and the shower drain was backed up. All of the hotel room doors are "open air" - completely accessible to the street. I am not necessarily creeped out about this. Scottsdale seems pretty safe - but it couldn't have hurt with the acoustic problem. We asked for another room. Can't blame the staff but they didn't seem eager to please. The guy on 4 am duty when we checked out seemed cool though. read more

We're stay there 2 two nights, place is clean, breakfast is ready good. I highly recommend this place.
