Both times rooms were quiet and comfortable. I'm new to using Holiday Inns and went to do a check in on the app but it wasn't working. They explained to me that if my room is t ready it won't work. Other apps for other hotels will let me ck in and they they let me know when my room is ready. I was there for a 3 day training. My first night there I met up with friends for dinner in the adjoining restaurant. A review was given for that restaurant. The remainder of my meals were catered for our group in the Convention center. I came back two weeks later for a Convention. We had up to 450 attendees. The banquet food for both my stays was fairly good, at my training we had breakfast, lunch and dinner. There was plenty of food and snacks served. The desserts were outstanding! Two out of three breakfast had eggs which I cannot eat but there was plenty of meat, potatoes and bread to make a meal. Only one lunch meal was not as good. It was a salad with sliced chicken breast and the chicken breast was dry and like it had been cooked for a couple days. Our other meals consisted of pork , chicken, salads and pastry. The waitstaff did an excellent job and were friendly and accommodating, This is a nice venue for groups/conventions.

The floors and stairs are creaky so I was worried we would hear lots of noises in the night but I didn't hear anything from the other rooms at all. The bed was quite comfortable but the blinds did let in quite a bit of light from the street. Shared a bathroom with other guests on the floor. My husband enjoyed the breakfast buffet and chatting with other guests while I was running. The owners were flexible with checkout time so I could come back and shower. It was like staying in a friend's home. Definitely a b&b experience, if you are looking for a sterile keep-to-yourself experience, you might prefer a hotel.

We had an absolute blast the guns are very accurate and you could shoot at a persons gun or their headband and you could shoot them with perfect accuracy from about 600ft away!! Definitely the best laser tag experience I have ever had and I always try them out at any given chance. They had a great laser tag area that reminds me of a paintball setup lots of barriers some cars and the vibe was post apocalyptic. If you like paintball, laser tag, shooting video games, or shooting in general this place is a must for you please I recommend anyone that just is looking to have a good day to come and enjoy the experience of this place. Enjoyed a three day weekend of camping at Hartman Creek and loved every minute of it…read more We stayed in site 12, which was perfect. It felt secluded with enough trees and undergrowth that we couldn't see our neighbors. There are pit toilets located throughout the park as well as plumbed toilets and showers in a central location. I exclusively used the plumbed toilets and found I never had to wait for one, which was nice. There is a camp store where we were able to pick up some memorabilia and they have a self-serve wood shed where you can purchase bundles of wood and bags of ice. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire ring, both of which we made use of during our stay. The park itself has lakes, creeks, and over 10 miles of trails. We stuck to campground walks on our most recent trip but have been there previously for day trips where we enjoyed a lovely walks. The campground is beautifully wooded (both deciduous and tamaracks) which is our favorite sort of camping atmosphere. The campground hosts were welcoming and spot on to ensure that all sites are clean and ready for their next guests. Everyone who worked there ensured our stay was as lovely as possible. Get to it!

How about crowds? Does the thought of trying to get away and having to deal with big crowds frustrating to you? Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls alike, I have the answer for you. Tons and tons of outdoor fun can be found right here at Hartman Creek State Park and the surrounding areas. It is not that far of a drive from the Chicago Area (about a 4.5 hour drive). If you go up here in the middle of the summer of course there are going to be a good number of people here. Fortunately it is not going to be as crowded as a Devil's Lake or Starved Rock, which automatically give it an A plus rating in my grade book!
