What a fabulous find in the middle of downtown! Fantastic selection of various Asian fresh, frozen and pantry staples - imported & local. It's mostly focused on Chinese ingredients, but they have enough items for Korean and Japanese that you can get by with in a pinch. They also seem to have separate mini boutiques for assorted tchotchkes and beauty products which I didn't investigate. The store looked pretty new and very clean. They also had an impressive array of hot and cold foods to-go that looked quite good, although I didn't try any. If I have any complaint, it is the fact that most of the vegetables are prepackaged in miles of plastic wrap and styrofoam... it is shocking to see. But aside from that, I'd have to say this beats the T&T by a good margin, and I am a T&T devotee from when they opened their first store in Burnaby in the early 90's! read more

On the second floor of a residential building, if I lived here, I'd be shopping from here all the time. On the first visit, I walked around to check out what they had. Outside of your everyday Asian products, they had a lot of prepared food - sushi, side dishes, including kimchi, etc, dim sum, fried foods, hot buffet with all your popular Chinese foods. I went back few days later to grab some food for dinner. I got some items from the buffet, dim sum, order of fried shrimp tempura and kimchi. Skip the kimchi, the dim sum was decent and the food from the buffet was worth it. Check out moves quickly, the staff behind the buffet were very helpful. Make sure to bring your own bag. read more

They have so many imported goods here! There's a hot food section and a large snacks section. I went to Thailand in November and noticed Bestco had a lot of stuff that I saw in Thailand. They also have stuff from Muji and family mart which we can't find at other Asian grocery stores in Toronto. read more

This is a large Chinese grocery store which just opened downtown Toronto on 2025-08-19. It is on the 2nd floor (there are escalators and elevators). There have everything expected in a Chinese grocery store plus some extremely high-end items, like produce flown directly from overseas countries and high-end Lububu. The store is bright, clean, well-organized, and well-stocked. We spent 75 mins looking around and spent $54. During the grand-opening period, when you spend $100, you get a $10 gift certificate. The meats and produce are extremely fresh. The prices are good. You can even finish Chinese bottled drinks and snacks for $1.59; we bought a few of those. Some of the labels are quite hilarious. They took a literal translation of Chinese to Engligh. One example is a jelly-like item, usually called agar in English, but the store labelled it as "lactic acid bacteria jelly", not exactly appealing! One thing I still don't understand is why with bottled items, Chinese grocery store tend to put the French-language label facing out. There is lively seafood, including live lobster which you can pick up yourself (via tongs if you wish); but they were not very lively. They sell Royce Chocolate bars, which is not easily found in Toronto. There are high-end Asian fruits (flown in) like a square (cube) watermelon ($388.88), small watermelon ($88.88), fresh lychee (500g for $23.99), premium lychee ($28.88), Japanese Sweet Tangerine ($45.99), Vietnamese Fresh Durian Meat ($18.88), Crown Melon (1 for $88.88), Yamanashi Golden Peach (box $158.88), Fuji Brilliance Red Grapes (box $88.88), and Japanese Sun Mango (1 for $58.88). There is ready-to-eat self-serve food at a reasonable price (price is based on weight). There are some seating areas on the ground floor. There is a bank of cashiers who are efficient. There are no self-serve checkout kiosks. After the cashiers, there is a small section selling beauty products. They also sell Lububu there. So ecstatic that Bestco opened in the heart of downtown Toronto! Prior to entering the store I was thinking it's mid size but was surprised that it was fairly large for a typical Asian supermarket. Since the store is still new, it's meticulously clean and the aisles were wide enough to accommodate two shopping carts side-by-side. The shelves were well stocked and beautifully organized. Prices were reasonable and at par with T&T but slightly higher than the Chinatown grocery stores but the produce and meat quality were far superior. They have a large selection of Asian produce, meat products, snacks and other foodstuff including the viral Asian fruit ice cream. There is a large shelf dedicated to ramen noodles, different types of Kitkat flavours and various ingredients needed to make hotpot meals. They have a limited selection of basic household goods, Korean skincare and Labubu products. And if you're not in the mood to cook, they offer Chinese hot food dishes ranging from dimsum, soup, fried rice and noodles. You can also buy Japanese sushi and onigiri. There is also bubble tea place by the entrance called Its Tea. Staff were nice and very helpful if you ask questions on where to find stuff. You bet this will be my go to grocery store from now on if I don't feel like going to Chinatown. read more

Being that it a right across the street from us made it convenient to our operations. As you enter there is a boba spot you can hit up to get that sugary fruit rush. Upstairs to the right is more food where you can get all kinds of food rice, noodles, shrimp, beef, pork cooked in various Asian cuisines. You pay by the pound. When you're coming from south of the border this works out to be super cheap. Hope we come back here again next year. read more

Bestco Fresh Foods located near the intersection of Peter and Adelaide is a large Asian grocery store chain that now has a location downtown! I've been to their other location in Scarborough which has some pretty fresh veggies and produce. I was excited for the chain to finally expand downtown where T&T has some serious competition! I stopped by Bestco to browse and was impressed by the size and selection of products offered. The grocery store is located on the 2nd floor where they have escalators. It was super clean and felt so new! Along with your usual grocery items, they also have a hot food counter, sushi area, a bakery, as well as a small beauty section. The bakery section was where I was particularly interested in as they carry Iki Shokupan as well as Matcha Yuzu bakery items!! I also noticed a lot of items from other Toronto Asian small businesses which was nice to see. Overall, Bestco will definitely do well in the downtown area as there are no other Asian grocery stores around this area. They carry a lot of great items from other local businesses in Toronto. Definitely do stop by to browse or grocery shop if you live or are around the area! read more

We strolled into this new Mainland Chinese supermarket in the downtown core near closing around 9pm on a weeknight so the place was not busy. The place is huge and brightly lit and clean. They have an extensive hot foods area for ready to go meals and dim sum. Surprisingly they didn't have end of day discounts. The vegetables looked fresh and prices were inflated compared to the uptown supermarkets. What attracted my eye are the snacks sections and the imported snacks from Japan. They included Royce chocolates, Chikawa cakes and they have a Muji food and snacks section. They had labubu mooncakes and blind boxes for sale too if you are looking. I would come back for the hot foods and speciality snacks but probably won't be my to go supermarket in the downtown core. read more

Great selection of Asian goods: veggie, meats, fruits, frozen, and dried goods section. Their pricing is very good for downtown, beating out the usual places in quality and pricing. They have a hot/prepared food and bakery section as well and it is quite large, occupying the second floor of the building. Convenient downtown Asian super market that opens on long weekends. Clean with everything you need basics. Do NOT get the tuna. I was sick 2 out of 2 times on two different days getting it here. The meats are generally higher priced than other super markets but its clean and packaged. Some of the packaging doesn't list weight which can be annoying. Overall I'm glad the community has an Asian super market Option. read more

A really great selection of Asian snacks, hot/cold foods to go (e.g., sushi, dimsum, cooked food by weight) and other grocery essentials. They also have lots of Muji snacks I've never seen elsewhere in Toronto. The store is clean and well lit. While we there, they also hosted some tastings near the frozen foods section. Prices are very fair and grand opening specials are pretty great, like the $3.99 KitKats. Staff are multilingual, speaking Mandarin/Cantonese and English. No Amex however MasterCard, Visa are accepted. read more

This store was SO FUN! I was visiting and was like a kid in a candy store enjoying all the products. I picked up some candied haw berries, a product from China, I am beyond thrilled to have found some, I love these! read more
