Our four year old daughter started coming here in May 2026 and we couldn't be any happier with our experience so far. The classes are organized, well structured, and taught by knowledgeable and kind staff. Our daughter is currently in the Mighty Mites class with Keira, Kylee, and Nikki. Even at this young age, they emphasize proper form and execution, while keeping the class fun and enjoyable. Our daughter has taken private lessons with Kelly and Cassidy. They have both been challenging and preparing her for the transition to the Junior Academy (in a couple months). We are always met by friendly staff at the front desk (most recently it was Mackenzie) and never feel rushed when we ask a question. The floor supervisor, Vivian, regularly checks in to see how things are going whenever we see her. Overall, it's been an extremely positive experience here! read more

Thank you for your response. I do want to clarify several things because I feel that my concerns are being misrepresented. First, when I stated that my daughter had not done this before, I was referring to this specific class, level, and the skills and instructions that were being asked of her that day. I am fully aware that she had previously attended your gym. Her prior attendance does not mean she should automatically know or remember every skill being asked of her, especially at five years old and after time away. Second, my concern was never simply that Coach Mary had to repeat instructions. I completely understand that coaches need to repeat themselves, especially when it comes to safety. My concern was the frustration I personally observed from Coach Mary toward my daughter and the way it affected her emotionally. I was present and watching the class myself. The reason I went over to Coach Mary in the first place was because my daughter was coming toward me crying. As her mother, I was obviously going to approach the situation and find out what had happened. I did not randomly interrupt the class to criticize anyone. I approached because my five-year-old child was visibly upset and crying. Afterward, my daughter told me she did not want to return because the experience made her feel sad and nervous. That is what concerned me as a parent. I also want to be clear that I never criticized Coach Pearla. In fact, I specifically acknowledged how patient, attentive, and understanding she was with my daughter. My concern was specifically regarding Coach Mary and the difference I personally observed in the way my daughter was treated. Regarding the description of my tone as "aggressive" and "hateful," I strongly disagree with that characterization. I approached the situation as a concerned parent after watching my five-year-old come toward me crying. Speaking up for my child when she is visibly distressed does not make me hateful or aggressive. My responsibility as her mother is to advocate for her. I also find it concerning that so much of the response focuses on defending Coach Mary's character and describing how well-liked she is. Whether she is a "fan favorite" or has positive experiences with other families does not invalidate what I personally witnessed or what my daughter experienced that day. I am not speaking for every child or every parent. I am speaking about our personal experience. Ultimately, my biggest concern remains the same: my five-year-old left the class crying, became nervous about returning, and asked me not to take her back. Instead of simply acknowledging that this experience was upsetting for a young child, the response has largely focused on defending the coach and criticizing me for raising the concern. My daughter has been attending SCATS for a while now, and the transformation in her confidence and physical ability is incredible. I think what sets SCATS apart is their focus on the "whole child" experience. It's not just about perfect scores or rigid routine; it's about personal growth, resilience, and lifelong confidence. I want to start by saying that I work in customer service. I am not one to complain. If I receive a wrong order at a coffee shop, I just suck it up and drink the coffee. I understand it is not easy working in customer service and that it can be a thankless service. That being said, I will complain when it comes to my child. Our newly 3 year old daughter has taken many tumbler/gymnastics classes as a 1-2 year old and she has always loved it. We felt that she outgrew these and we wanted to try something new. My wife went to Scats as a kid and had a great experience, so we thought it would be a perfect upgrade for our daughter now that she is 3. We set up our initial trial for an evening class and were excited to try while also being nervous as our daughter can be a little reserved at times, especially in a setting as big and loud as SCATS, but we thought it would be a good opportunity for her to break that comfort zone. To our excitement she went with the instructor without any fuss. I want to remind you that this is her first time in the class and at this gym, so she has never done any of these routines or exercises. She of course was reserved and a little slow in doing some of the movements, but she was attentive and consistently looking at the instructors for direction. After 2-3 times of the movements she had it down and was keeping up with the class. My wife even took a video because we were so excited that she was doing good and you can clearly tell she is having fun and learning the movements. But from the beginning we could tell one instructor (I believe her name was Kelly) was clearly frustrated with our daughter since she wasn't getting everything immediately. In the video we took of our daughter as we were excited to see her doing so well, you can see Kelly is clearly annoying when showing her how to jump correctly. Kelly was not friendly or seemed annoyed most of the time. Our daughter naturally gravitated to the other instructor (Kylie) who took her time with our daughter and was very kind (constantly smiling and giving her reassurance). After 30 minutes they took a water break and the frustrated instructor took our daughter by the hand and called up to the stands yelling "(our daughters name) PARENTS" and then told us to meet her downstairs. To our shock she said that our daughter was not listening and was not ready for this level of class. We immediately were confused and said that we were watching the whole time and saw no issue with her listening, she just needed a little help. To which the instructor told us that they have too many kids and do not have time to give her 1-1 time. To clarify, we did not expect 1-1 time and appreciate the group setting as it promotes socialization with the kids. She then told us that our daughter did not do the warm up properly (her first time doing said warm-up) and that she was following the other instructor more, which was understandable as she was much more friendly with the kids and actually took the time when demonstrating movements. We specifically remember our daughter being shown the crab crawl twice and then she had it down but apparently that was not quick enough. How can we expect toddlers to learn something immediately? Sure some kids can pick up things quickly but there is a wide range when it comes to toddlers. Have some patience and take pride in what you are doing. I expected more, especially since these classes are not cheap. This was also a trial and everyone knew it was our daughters first time (she was the only one with a name tag) and then you are going to pull her from the class halfway through in front of everyone? How can you expect us to sign up for future classes? The whole conversation was very off putting as she rushed and passed us off to the manager? and front desk ladies. They told us a morning class or "mommy and me" would be a better fit. We chose this specifically because it is good for our daughter to be in these independent situations and we both work full time so the morning classes are not an option for us. I was surprised to see other reviews with parents having a similar experience some dating years ago. And these are only the parents that took the time to actually write a review and leave feedback. This is no longer a coincidence and in my opinion is an issue with how these instructors are being trained or they are given too much responsibility to make these type of decisions. If they cannot handle a reserved 3 year old, maybe add an additional instructor to the class or reduce class size to help with the ratio. I do not leave reviews, especially negative ones as again, I am usually on the other side of these. But I really hope this feedback helps this gym with their current structure and they make some minor adjustments. SCATS is clearly a very well run and successful facility and I understand that most people have a great experience here, but unfortunately this did not meet our expectations. read more

My son had his first tots class today, he is 20 months old. The instructor was very nice but i think this class should maybe be advertised for 2-3 instead of 1-3? I'm sure some 1 year olds may do well but It was my first mommy and me style class and i wasn't expecting it to be quite as advanced as it was. The other kids were doing a great job but my son isn't talking yet and doesn't understand words or phrases so when it comes to needing to follow specific instructions on how to do things his comprehension level is just not quite there yet which made it pretty difficult to try and keep him happy & engaged with the class. I would definitely give it a try again once he's maybe 2 1/2 or 3 but at 1 he just wasn't ready for this type of class yet but like i said it may just be my child wasn't ready and some other 1 year olds are! I did appreciate the free trial class so i could test it out to see if he was ready or not. My only complaint is i wish i would've been given a little bit more of an explanation on what to expect from this class prior but i suppose that's what the trial is for read more

Man we love this place and so do our girls. This post is a little bitter sweet as our girls have been going to the Tots class with Coach Cindy for about a year now. The girls just turned 3 and will be graduating to the mighty mites class. Coach Cindy has been nothing but great with us! Its a Tuesday AM class that I always looked forward to going to. Super chill class that is interactive with the kids and parents, with Coach Cindy there to guide everyone along. SCATS is the place to teach your kids the essential tools to build on any skill in anything they do. As a former SCATS student it helped me accelerate in any other sports I took on after (diving, tae kwon do, track, etc.) My coach was Cindy and she made the experience unforgettable with the work she provides there. We love Scats! My girls started here a couple of years ago but just this year have been consistently going & their growth is awesome! The coaches are wonderful and invest in the students. My girls started in Mighty Mites with Coach Monica and Coach Joel and they both hold a special place in our hearts. My older daughter started in Jr Academy with Coach Perla and moved up to academy with Coach Kim who are both excellent coaches. Coach Kim is so fun to watch as she spends a lot of time demonstrating proper technique to the girls. Now my oldest moved up to Coach Deiby and she is growing super fast with him! I hear he is no nonsense but he is clearly very good at what he does! We are so happy with Scats and we actually have 12 other friends from our kids school that other too! My son Zackary is 8 years old and has severe autism. He has been working with Coach Cindy for 10 months now. Coach Cindy is amazing. She has helped Zack increase his muscle tone, balance, and self-control. Cindy speaks to him with a calm voice and motivates him to try new things. It amazes me how well Zack does with Coach Cindy. He listens to her and follows her from activity to activity. When he does resist or refuse, Cindy handles his behavior with experience and kindness. It is evident in everything she does that she loves working with kids with special needs and she is extremely knowledgeable about working with kiddos with special needs. I am so grateful to have found Coach Cindy and SCATS. It's wonderful that they welcome Zack into their gym with open arms and smiles. From the women at the front desk to the coaches I happen to walk by. Everyone greets me with a smile. What a relief! As a special needs mom, the worry of, "it not working" is ever-present. Amazing gymnastics program and coaches! Very engaging physically and mentally for the kids. Gym is clean. My problem with this facility arose when, without notice, they installed multiple canisters of "aroma" throughout the gym. The smell is overwhelmingly strong and the contents are unknown. It is irritating to the eyes and throat. Some instructors have gotten migraine headaches and the management continues to spray this "product" on the staff, adults and children. I would re enroll my daughter in a heartbeat once they stop spraying fragrance. read more

I didn't read reviews before starting at this gym. If you don't have a naturally complacent child, do not start this class. We started the Mighty Mites class for my 4 yr old son for fun and to have an activity after school to do. After only a few months we have dropped his class. And reading the comments I see why. I agree that the instructors have absolutely no patience for kids that give them any challenge. I also felt some prejudice towards my son since he was the only boy in the class. I witnessed his instructors scolding him but they wouldn't scold any of the girls that were 'acting out' as well. I felt he was singled out on numerous occasions. His last class I could see one of his instructors getting mad bc he wasn't understanding how to do a certain exercise. Another instructor scolded him for going too fast in their floor exercises. My kid is FOUR. If you don't have the patience or understanding of that age group, you shouldn't be teaching. At this age,(mighty mites) I don't feel that the instructors should be so strict. These kids are mostly there to have fun and I feel the instructors have lost sight of that. read more

1. Long-Term Experience: We've not had membership with any other gym, but we've been to many through the team competition cycle, and this place is solid. Scats has a reputation for being a serious gym and the team coaches definitely encourage excellence from their athletes. Based on my conversations outside of the gym context with women who were former Scats gymnasts during their youth, it's apparent that the gym's standards for excellence had not changed. My children collectively have been part of their toddler class, junior academy and academy classes, and their boys and girls competitive teams. I now have one child continuing the competitive team route. The coaches we've had were supportive and communicated well with us when we asked for feedback. I've never been pressured or solicited to schedule private lessons. We sought them out ourselves because our child wanted to improve. I'm addition, once I made the effort to get to know the fellow gym parents they turned out to be friendly and helpful. A few of them have become my good friends. The gym really became one of our big communities. 2. Layout and Amenities: A. Outdoor: Sizable parking lots (private and shared), with street parking available. There's a one-way double lane by the front door: right lane for drop off, and left for driving through without stopping. B. Indoor: Adults can watch their kiddos practice on the viewing balcony while sitting on the bleachers or at the tables that are first come-first serve. There's a vending machine, small sink with paper towels stocked, and microwave available for use. Restroom breaks are a little inconvenient as there are only one restroom for each gender, for both athletes and their family members, close to the children's practice area, away from the viewing balcony. The best way to get to it as a non-athlete/student is by going down the steps from the viewing balcony, not from the first floor/lobby. Just ask the front desk and they will help you out. read more

My daughter started with Mighty Mites at age 4 and is now in Junior Academy. She absolutely loves it here. The coaches really teach the kids how to get stronger and have better balance all while having fun. It's so cool how they get them ready for back bends, and how they have special mats to help them practice flipping up on the bars. They also allow makeup classes which is really handy, and the staff is really nice and always calls or emails you back. And I like the autopay as it is one less thing to worry about. I signed My daughter Emery up for a trial class...mighty mights on Tuesday at 530pm. Pros: teacher to student ratio is good. Different areas they train and rotate at is good. Cons: I wish the front desk advised of the small warm up area for mighty mites on 2nd floor where the streching starts, I was waiting to hear the group name called but then all of a sudden noticed all the young ones running to a small room upstairs and then followed late. I will say what kind of ruined the experience was at the very end at the roll-up door, i asked Kelly, who was the instructor for my daughter's group... how did she do for her first time? She mentioned blunty and in front of Emery next to me, that "she did good, but asked a lot of questions. Kelly then said, i would give her directions, but she still asked questions even after being told what to do or where to go." Soo in my head.....I was kind of like.....well, of course, she just turned 4 and has never been in this environment. nor did a gymnastics class before. Any kid under the age of 5, will need direction and constant instruction to keep focus, especially in a new, uncomfortable environment. Afterwards, I simply said thank you and walked to the car. While walking, Emery started crying and said I wasn't listening enough mommy? And that in turn upset me because she was so excited for gymnastics class, and all I wanted her to do was enjoy herself and try something new. She was disappointed the car ride home. So.....Food for thought....the younger instructors may need professional education with softer "hand holding" approaches for the young ones and more patience even if they are getting frustrated and annoyed themselves. I was excited to take my five-year-old on her first day today and right off the bat when I entered the building everything felt off. I didn't really feel welcomed and she didn't really give directions on the free trial class. My daughter literally never done gymnastics and she did a free trial class with the other girls students that already have been doing the class and obviously has more experience. I was watching the instructors and I could tell That they were getting a little frustrated because she was really following directions or was a little shy. But what do you expect? It's her first time ever doing gymnastics do you want her to be a professional and follow every single directions that you tell her the first day? I was observing them and I could tell they were gossiping to each other About her. They are young instructors so what do you expect. They also seem like they hated their job. They're not even enthusiastic at all and you have to be when you're doing a job like that because you're working with kids. Also, the facilities seems very dirty and not sanitize. For me it seems like they were also a little racist because we are Hispanic and I didn't notice my daughter was a little shy, but like I said all the other students already have more experience. Of course I'm gonna be more confident. After the class was over she asked me if my daughter spoke English because she wasn't following directions and doing it the right way?!!!! And she needs to be less shy. Woman !! What do u expect she was probably intimidated the first day. She's never done this before. Maybe if you made her feel more welcomes she would've come out of her shell, but as I can see u guys don't really know how to work with kids or need to take proper child development classes. We enrolled our 3 y/o in classes here bc she was begging for gymnastics after being enrolled in another state for over a year and we were new to the area. During the trial class I wasn't thrilled, but we signed her up bc she needed something ASAP. We had been at 2 other gyms prior, and loved them both WAY more. 1) they've improved their seating section. 2) I wish they would have explained how the younger classes bounce around the gym throughout the class for different "sections"- our first time there was ZERO seating and we moved 3-4 times in order to watch our daughter. Even with the additional seating you miss half the class unless you follow the class around from section to section 3) they didn't explain WHERE TO GET your kid after the class- wish they would've done that. 4) our daughter was enrolled there almost 6 months and received VERY LITTLE if any corrections besides to "pay attention," etc. typical things. She basically jumped around for 6 months. During our LAST class there, her class had a sub teacher who actually enforced correct form, required her to do things over correctly- we were thrilled but it happened too late! Her regular teachers are sweet and nice but most of them are just passing the time. 5) during one of our last classes there, my daughter, who has asthma was catching her breath and coughed in her elbow. Her teacher saw and told a THREE YEAR OLD to go wash her hands across the gym BY HERSELF in the bathroom. I was floored. So many safety concerns I could list- I sent my husband to make sure she made it to and from safely. 6) when they transitioned from station to station there were at least 2-3 times where my daughter found me in the stands bc she lost her class. WHAT!? I would walk her to her class and the teacher would put the blame on her. SAFETY- thank goodness my kid came to find me instead of going outside Would not recommend if you are looking for your little one to actually learn skills. They are sweet and nice but it really feels like they are checking a box at the younger ages. read more

I have similar complaints as others on here regarding the mighty mites class. Interesting to see the same repeated complaints with no changes from management. Really disappointed in the lack of effort or structure from the coaches with the 3 year olds. A lot of "pay attention" and belittling from the female coaches. It's really simple if you don't have the patience to coach toddlers don't do it? Female at the font has some bad customer service as well. As others have noted here, AVOID bringing your younger kids to this gym. The people here should not be in the business of dealing with young kids who are new to learning anything. They looked borderline annoyed the entire time, provided zero guidance, and don't think I saw them smile once during the whole class. Our daughter just turned 5 and has been wanting to do gymnastics since we bought her gymnastics bars at the house. We were very excited to bring her to the gym class here which we were told is an INTRO class suitable for a 5 year old who does not have prior experience. The instructors here provided her with little guidance, zero encouragement, and looked generally disinterested the entire time. After the session, we were told our 5 year old daughter who plays on her gymnastic bars at home everyday is not ready for the "intro class". They told us this in front of her! Really?!? On the way back home she went from being super excited about gymnastics to saying "I don't want to do gymnastics it's super hard" If your kid is advanced and very easy to train, maybe this gym might work out for you. If you have a young child that wants to get into this and you want a fun experience where they will feel supported and will get actual coaching/ encouragement this is definitely not the place based on our experience. This was based on one intro class we did so thought perhaps the team was just having a bad day but after reading the many reviews here describing our exact experience, it's obvious there is a consistent issue here. read more

SCATS Is an amazing gymnastics facility. As I child, I always wanted to take classes at SCATS, but for many reasons, I was not able to. It's so rewarding watching my daughter as she practices with her coaches, smiling, and learning many new skills. I was grateful when the gym was cleared to reopen during Covid. The staff does a great job keeping the gym clean, spacing the parents watching small children, and making sure everyone is following the rules. read more

Wanted to further elaborate that my child was KICKED out of SCATS publicly infront of everyone due to this yelp review. She wanted to finish the remainder of the month till we found a new class for her and because I chose to speak out and expose SCATS they took it out on an innocent child and physically removed her from the class. Yes, I take full responsibility for even bringing her back here, which I shouldn't have done. But instead of trying to fix the problem or come to any kind of solution to assist in the gymnastics program they just KICKED a child out of the class. Pretty disgusting to say the least. And I know Dave did so thinking I will delete this post but people deserve to know the truth and I stand by everything stated previously. . Oh, and I also never received reimbursement for the month I paid for that they ejected a child from. never thought to repay for the classes they refused to allow her to participate in. read more

My daughters both take classes in Scats and recently they attended summer camp. They always have great time and ask to go back. In summer camp they do a lot of fun activities . This place is special for the staff. The coaches are professional and care about their campers. Vivian is so positive and always helps with all the questions she clearly loves her job . My wife takes the kids to SCATS every week , some days I am able to join her I have spoken with Vivian numerous times she is amazing and all the stuff are so nice and welcoming. I highly recommend summer camp and birthday parties . My kids went to their friend's birthday party in SCATS recently they had so much fun! Thank you !! Great staff friendly and flexible. Coaches really put in the effort to help the kids focus at the ages they are. Always smells clean and the viewing area is great to see the kids. Staff is attentive to any issue that is brought up, if vending machine is acting up they are quick to help out the little ones with a replacement. My little one was given great care, when they hesitated to go to class or separate from me, the coaches would try everything to ease the anxiety. The coaches would be goofy, silly, barter, once in class the kids have always been safe. The children have never been injured, have NEVER been hurt by other children due to staff being unnatentive. Our sons surf camp was postponed this week due to the Hurricane and he was begging to go back to scats. I called to see if we could get into the summer camp for one day. They told me our account showed I had left a bad review and the only way I could attend camp was if I removed it. I said I left an honest review and I wasn't removing it. I think the proper way to handle this, if they were so worried about the review, was to ask me to update it (honestly) after attending the day camp, and I would have been happy to do that. This place is badly run if they want customers removing reviews, how about full transparency and owning up to issues and doing better? Response- I don't think your staff worked very hard since they lost my kids shoe and weren't willing to look for it lol. The bad experience was mine, my son doesn't pay for his own shoes. So yes, when he asked a year later to return I reluctantly agreed. And I do expect all shoes returned for your nominal fee (sorry, I'm laughing at your response, it's so idiotic) At any rate, we've attended 2 camps this summer and both of them received amazing reviews from me.
