By the time the synagogue was reconsecrated and the area designated an historic heritage site, I was living in America. I was fortunate to visit a synagogue for the first time in 2024 because of the kindness of the Rabbi of Ohev Shalom Synagogue in South Beach, Miami. It was kismet. Lehfield, along with three witnesses, have SIGNED and provided my husband with a Get. I wasn't notified, I wasn't present at the ceremony, I had no idea this even took place until a mutual friend sent me a copy of the Get. My husband and I aren't even divorced yet. I have been contacting Rabbi D. Lehfield for over TWO MONTHS now, with no response. I even went as far as visiting him. At first, he took my call, but after I demanded an explanation to how he signed and gave my husband a Get without contacting me, he not only provided me with zero explanations, he began to ignore my calls all together. I contacted the Beis Din, and didn't get anywhere with them as well. I have now retained legal counsel, will be pressing charges, and one way or another I will be getting my explanation!!! Rabbi D. Lehfielda and his three witnesses committed FRAUD and will be exposed in every way possible. Rabbi D. Lehfield had two months time to resolve this matter like a mench. But sometimes the ego gets the best of us. All I asked for was an explanation and to have the Get nulled. But I got neither. After 37 years of being married, I think I am entitled. I am not sure how much my husband paid these Rabbis off, but I hope it was worth it.

I am so disappointed by this shul. They are having a blood drive today to honor my father, Dr…read more Michael Goldstein who has terminal brain cancer (glioblastoma). On their promotion flyer they announce my father's complete recovery. My father is dying with a few months to live and these ignoramuses are not only using his name without obtaining consent, they are posting blatantly false information. So all morning I have been comforting his grandchildren who were so hurt by this cruel joke. But even worse, community members are now stopping by their home to congratulate my mother and father on his "miraculous recovery". My father is far gone enough now to not realize he is dying but when community members congratulate him on his recovery he gets confused and scared. My poor exhausted mother has to explain to the members who visit that they are mistaken about her husband's prognosis. We are all exhausted from caring for my father. We are all terribly sad to be losing such a great man. I would please ask that this community provide quiet, helpful and honest support.
