They manage the Blackstone Apartments at the intersection of South Locust and Walnut St…read more I was told there was a cockroach problem (which there still is), but that didn't bother me. Here was my experience: I was given a room key and a key to enter the building. I was told my mailbox key would be given to me at a later date as the previous tenant still had it. So, I asked to have my mail forwarded to another address until I received my key. Upon moving in the next day (a Saturday), the key to enter the building was a "dummy" key that did not let me in. Wonderful. Every morning, at 1:30AM, an alarm would go off in a box by the front door. The alarm would go off until someone was able to open up the door and reset it. Luckily, the person who showed me around the complex reset this and I watched him. So every day I would reset the alarm or else I had to wait for the manager to arrive at the apartment and press a button and say, "we're gonna get that fixed" when I knew they weren't going to spend the money on that A few weeks later the P trap under my kitchen sink started to back up due to a clogged pipe somewhere in the building. My neighbor had the same problem. It was handled two days after I logged a work order. Once the problem was "fixed", my entire kitchen was full of water and undesired sink drippings that maintenance left for me to clean up. Fantastic A few days later, the problem started to back up into my sink. So, the people who completed the work order didn't remove the clog, they just tightened the P trap so the crud could now back up INTO the sink rather than underneath it. A day later, the issue was resolved after logging another work order. This next part is beyond Premier Home Sales. But, I've had two separate occasions where someone came banging on my door in the middle of the night claiming they knew me and demanded I let them in. No way Jose. Now I am a month and a half into this place and my electricity goes off. Remember when I said I didn't have a mailbox key and asked to forward mail to a different address? Well, that forward didn't happen and my electricity bill was not paid (because I never received a bill). So I asked to get my mailbox key and was told that I already have it. I had to explain that I didn't have it because I was never given one. Then I was told that I must have it because the manager did not have a key. I told them I need to get into my mailbox immediately because my power is off and I bet the bill was in there. What would ya know? The next day a key was slid under my door. And what else would ya know? My electric bill was in the mailbox...exactly where I said not to have it mailed. It is now fall and I expected there to be heat coming from my radiators. I logged another work order to have someone look at the issue in my apartment. The bathroom radiator valve was completely open and the valve on the radiator in the living/sleeping room had a busted handle, yet no heat came out. I logged this on a Wednesday afternoon and explained the issues I just described. I was told someone might not make it there on Wednesday, but for sure on Thursday. Well, Thursday came and went and I called again on Friday at 4:00PM. A person told me that someone came and looked at the boiler, fixed a leak at the boiler, and checked the radiators in the hall. That person also said the workers weren't going to go into all 50 apartments to check the radiators. I told that person that I didnt log a work order to have someone look at the boiler and check the radiators in the hall. I specifically asked to look at the two radiators in my apartment. Now this will be night 3 without heat and I was told someone cannot be there until Monday to look at my radiators. So, in total, 5 nights without heat in sub-freezing temperatures. Unbelievable. Add all of this to the fact that the entrance is littered with cigarette butts and food wrappers while people who don't live there try to pry there way into the building before the entrance door shuts. I knew this apartment wasn't a good place to live as seen by the $395/month for a studio, and I was okay with that. I knew it was low-income housing and I knew there were pests. But having multiple work orders not be done on time, or correctly is beyond upsetting. Especially since I have to continually sleep in an apartment with no heat. This place is worth $200/month if you have to put up with this B.S. and no where near $395 And I have only lived here 4 months

Living at the Broadmoor was an overall good experience. We rented the two bedroom two bathroom and…read moreit was a lot of space for a great price. Greg, the maintenance guy, was great. There were a handful of times where there was miscommunication at the Century 21 office. For example, we had to fill out a lease extension form twice because they lost our original one and we never received a "move out checklist" although we gave them our 30 day notice before moving out. Since we just moved out we have not received a deposit back yet, but I get the impression that they do not follow the oringinal damage checklist that we filled out prior to moving in and they will keep most of our deposit even though there was no damage to our apartment.

Never, I repeat NEVER, rent from these crooks. In the past…read more3 months, my bedroom ceiling leaked into my dresser, soaking all my clothes; my roommates bedroom ceiling has leaked as well. Our bathroom sink has been clogged for a WEEK (had the same problem this time last year), we've gone through an entire container of draino and have snaked the drain repeatedly. My bedroom window has been SHATTERED (due to extreme wind) since Thanksgiving and no one has even tried to come fix it. My bedroom is literally 30 degrees right now and this company does not care at all. We've called repeatedly and have only been contacted once through a text about "temporary solutions" about a week after we initially called. They still haven't even implemented these fixes. Our building is severely outdated. The fire alarm in the stairwell is covered with cobwebs and isn't even functional. The basement apartment doesn't even have egress windows. This property is an atrocity and Century 21 Midlands' negligence for their tenants well being is criminal.
